The timing of the first double sub from was seriously impressive.

Bournemouth were in the ascendancy and he completely shut it down.

A lot of our previous gaffers would have done nothing until we inevitably conceded.

Obviously Ange's coaching has made a big difference, but we have recruited very well too. The spine of Lloris, Dier and Hojbjerg was impossible to play football with. We have added technical quality and mobility with VdV, Udogie, Bissouma, Sarr, Vicario (compared to Lloris).

Get Ange two forwards and the first team will be very strong.

Ehhhhhh, not gonna lie, the timing of the second goal was a real stroke of luck. Very different last half an hour if Udogie is a split second late to keeping that ball in play.

How has he managed to coach these players to play this way when he's only coached in Scotland, Japan and Australia?

Apparently his idea comes from Puskas who was his manager, he got them from Jimmy Hogan. Hogan who comes from all places Burnley was the man who invented what became total football.

He went around Europe in the 30’s spreading his ideas. Got taken up by the Hungarians, Austrians and later the Dutch.

So it’s not he copied Pep but rather Pep and Ange followed the Dutch and Hungarians who all followed Jimmy Hogan. Quite a crazy story of a man who transformed football but yet is not well known

It's quite an amazing story really, this genius of a player, essentially unwelcome in his home country leading a nomadic managerial career ships off to Australia, as much of a footballing backwater as there was on the planet at the time, and this square-headed Greek immigrant clogger of a defender starts seeing the music in the old wizard's ideas.

Three decades later here we are.

He did the same against United. Just as they were making a push in the second half he sent Davies, Pierre and Ivan on and smothered down back down.
