All I want is a manager that takes the cups seriously. We haven't won the league since the early 60's.

I get that his job likely depends on getting top 4 but a domestic trophy would make the fans so happy. I'm just as bothered about this as the last time we threw a bunch of strangers out in the cup and lost. More so because he has been bullshitting in the pressers how important it is.

It's a crying shame because there are a lot of old Spurs fans who won't live to see another Cup run and we have rested players for what? Top 4?

We are historically a cup team and Ange took a giant shit on that legacy tonight. The whole "he gets Spurs" is nonsense. Don't want him out by a long stretch but he has bottled it big time with that bullshit line up. Not sure if he was sending a message to Levy about depth or trying to keep the cloggers happy but it came at a cost that us fans have to wear.

Performances and results like this will probably happen to some extent this season, especially when the second string players are picked.
Important to not get too carried away with the wins or too deflated by the losses.
This is a transitional season with a lot of work still needed on the squad, so it's way too early to judge Ange but the club is heading in a more positive direction than it has for years.

So Ange, mate, this cup exit is on you.

1. Fulham got batterred at their last home match, so strong lineup from them was predictable

2. Skippberg combo, without ball carrying full backs and at least one of Biss or Madders.... it just cannot work against PL side unless we just need to protect result

3. You said you want to win each match. And you lied to us based on your team selection :(

Forster
Royal Sanchez
VDV Davies
Skipp Hojbjerg Lo Celso
Solomon Richarlison Perisic

The bolded was always going to doom us to being unable to maintain any sort of rhythm or quality in possession, even if we'd gotten better performances from some of the players not in bold. There was a Bermuda Triangle of low technical ability on the pitch.

Your passing network can't have that many duds in it to play anything resembling modern football.

Davies deserves to be bolded.

I wouldn’t put too much blame on Ange. He has only got a few days left before the TW closes, to decide which players to keep and which players to move on. It’s more risky testing out the reserves in the PL games.

I just hope that this ‘trial’ has not been in vain and that we do move out the ‘not up to scratch ‘ players, and get in suitable upgrades this week.

Bare in mind all of our youth teams are now playing the same way, meaning the route through the levels is easier, I would not be surprised at all if some of these cloggers were replaced by some of our most promising youngsters by the end of the season.

We can't keep relying on past failures.

Nah you can totally blame him because he selected the team and didn't need to drop as many players that he did tonight, it's on him and I hope he owns it.

There's been a lot of deserved adulation for him but we need to call him out when he's fucked up and tonight he did with that piss poor selection.

Fulham clearly pushed the ball to that side of the pitch all first half as well

they shouldnt need to be "tested" there is enough data on them stinkers to last 10 lifetimes

but the club is heading in a more positive direction than it has for years.

How is it though? Wheres the evidence for that? All weve done is bring in a new manager as per usual. Thats it. Once the honeymoon period is over you’re going to start seeing the same cracks again. Im not denying Ange seems like an intelligent fella and a good coach, but lets look at what the club has done (which is fuck all)

-just sold our greatest player ever
-still havent replaced him and have zero real centre forwards
-still half a squad of deadwood to be sold (which we know wont happen)

End of the day Ange could be the greatest manager in the world but Ange could have reached into his pockets and picked out some fluff, an empty sweets wrapper, a spunky tissue and some fishing lures as starting 11 tonight and it would have had a better effect than that dross line up.

Still glaring club level issues

Got it wrong today, I was surprised with the selection. I swear he said before the game that he really wanted to win this as well. He either underestimated Fulham or put too much faith in that team. Whatever it is, it's cost us what's probably our best chance to win something.Hopefully he doesn't do the same thing for the FA cup.

Anyway, onwards and upwards.
