Relieved. The focus can now shift away from the manager to the players. Organizations try things and some work, some don't. The Postecoglou project succeeded in securing a trophy, introducing younger players, and returning to attacking football. But it is a system that was never likely to sustain success at the league level. Looking forward to the upcoming season whoever the manager is.

Heard from a well connected agent up here. The players wante dhim to stay. They had built something special. Lots of good development happened this season. They felt they could go on to do well with some key additions to the squad.

Now that has been pissed all over by people who don't understand football.

There are other player who want out but that list all have many options.

Even if they are retained, the first job a new manager has to do is restore team spirit and motivation.
