Fair enough. I think I’ve as much of a chance in a top job as he has.Being deadly serious, he isn't dropping down a level, he's a box office manager who believes he belongs in the big time.

Even if we stay up, sacking Postecoglou will be remembered as one of the most catastrophic decisions ever made by Spurs - a club not without its fair share of catastrophic decisions over the journey.
I feel ashamed that I thought it was the right thing to do. Even though I knew - and had stated many times - he was overachieving with this squad, I still went along with the sheep who baaa'ed our way to relegation.
Shame on all of us. Hopefully we all learn from this humbling experience.![]()

, sacked an alpha who they all loved and trusted and hired a beta cuck, mental.
What are you even on about. He has like 1 win in his last 19 managed premier league games. There’s zero evidence beyond opinion that our gradual slide was anything other than something that started with him and would have continued with him. The European results definitely don’t disprove this, as reasonable results in Europe continued under Frank. Frank also enjoyed a decent start and was sacked in a higher position than Ange was.
We are not getting relegated. Tudor will probably lead us to 15th/16th. There has been no drastic falloff - Ange’s win % was very comparable to Frank’s in their final seasons. Both had injury crises. Everyone is willing to accept Frank was useless. Both had good results in Europe, one was just giving the leeway of seeing things out, and had the luck of an easier competition to do it in.
Sacking Ange was a correct decision. The guy replacing him was probably not. I accept I was wrong here as I thought Frank would be an acceptable choice, and the job turned out to be too much for him. Him being a wrong choice does not make Ange a right one, while we were making our mistake, Forest were making theirs in appointing Ange, and he failed to win a single league game with them.
We have a mid table, decent team. It should not be 17th, even with injuries. Managers have underperformed. Mid table sides can win the EL - don’t be fucking shocked if Forest win it while getting relegated. They could because the EL is a quality drop off from the league in general.
I have no idea why people are talking about what jobs Ange should be entertaining - he’ll be extraordinarily lucky to be offered one in a top 5 league. His league win % over his last season at Spurs & period with Forest is like 25%. Not many clubs are eager to appoint on that basis.

Fuck me, someone has been taking tips from that Manosphere documentary.
I can see why you were a fan of Andrew Tate.
You don't understand and never will understand because you are unwilling to understand.
It was a catastrophic decision to sack him regardless of whatever success or failure he might have had this season.
Success and we aren't in a relegation battle.
Failure and he gets sacked in November and we strengthen properly in January and we AREN'T IN A RELEGATION BATTLE.
It really is that simple. I knew this in my heart when I warned you all that things wouldn't magically improve when we sacked him. But I baaa'ed along with the crowd and thought the league record outweighed the EL trophy. And by doing so I indulged in the hubris and folly and "history of Tottenham" as Conte described.
I was wrong. You were wrong. We were all very wrong. And it's been catastrophic. These are just facts.
The only ray of hope is that this catastrophe will lead to better learnings. That we won't make the same mistakes again.![]()
No I just have a different opinion to you. The mistake can be in his successor not in the sacking. There’s an alternative world where we get the successor right and we are in a very different place now. Ange was a nearly guaranteed continuation of being abysmal in the league, as he had been abysmal in the league for a season and a half. He then continued this form at another club after us. All the evidence is there you just refuse to see it.
You guys are all just very emotional about this portly Aussie bloke. I think it comes down to the fact he is charismatic and there’s loads of modern examples of people falling for a blagger - so don’t feel bad about it. His actual win % record is bang average at the top level, he’s been sacked by both the premier league clubs he’s coached, his champions league record is finishing bottom of a group. There is no indication that at the top, top level this man is suitable.
1 win in his last 19 managed premier league matches. Abysmal. This is the man some of you are pining for because he won a short run of Europa matches against AZ, Bodo, Frankfurt and United under Amorim. The same way Frank won a run of games against Villareal, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Copenhagen.
There is no difference. The only difference is your emotional attachment to the man. Keeping him was an almost guarantee of him continuing to fail badly against our peers.

Sigh. My "emotional attachment", if it exists at all (rememebr I, too, said he should be sacked) is simply because in 2023 he reminded me that Spurs could actually play football if we chose to after 4 years of dross,
And, of course, the single greatest achievement in my lifetime as a Spurs fan:
Even despite this I agreed, with you, he should be sacked. This turned out to be a catastrophic mistake. One that may still see us relegated. I've already outlined for you how success/failure would both have led to better outcomes for us this season. You just don't want to engage with that argument because you won't take responsibility or suffer accountability.
You wanted Frank. You boasted about Frank in late August 25. This fantasy that some other "choice" would have had us "flying up the table" is just cope to avoid taking responsibility and suffering accountability. I was wrong. YOU WERE WRONG.
Please, just own it. Anything else is just undignified. We got it wrong. It doesn't mean Postecoglou is the greatest manager ever. It just means we all made a catastrophic strategic error.
We all should own it.
About the Forest case:
And I don't mention neither that their best defender was out nor that their top scorer missed sitters.
- Betis (A) was very promising and Forest fans were excited, but then
- They had 60 shots 1 goal.
- Their XG was very good but stayed expected.
- Being sacked by Marinakis is by no means proof (not even an indication) of incompetence.
Again and again and again you conveniently forget that we had Kane (of 50 goals so far) and prime Son. I doubt that we could be as successful with Solanke and Werner (or Tel for that matter).“Single greatest achievement” just stop it we got to a champions league final beating a 100 point city team, an incredible Ajax side, a very good Dortmund team and played Inter Milan and Barcelona in the groups, only losing to a 99 point Liverpool side. We had a 2nd placed premier league finish with 86 points unbeaten at home. These are massively harder things to do than winning a EL by beating low to mid tier European sides and then a toss up final against the worst United side of the modern era. Until you acceptable the reality of this fact, there’s no point in any discussion because it’s not opinion it’s just facts, it’s just counting.
I can accept I was wrong for wanting to appoint Frank. I can definitely still say I was absolutely right for wanting to sack Ange. It doesn’t matter how many times you spam photos of him with a trophy, it won’t change the reality of his win % or our clear, measured declined under him over a whole year and a half.

But you do, and it does a lot.No I don’t. It’s got nothing to do with it. It’s just objectively true that those achievements are the biggest in recent Spurs history, not winning the Europa league. The win is more satisfying/pleasing because it ended in a win, but it isn’t more impressive.
Lots of very average, forgettable sides with average coaches have won the Europa League. I can’t think of many average and forgettable sides getting 86 points or reaching CL finals by beating one of the best premier league teams of all time.
By the way when we got to the CL final Kane was missing for most of the knockouts and we ended up beating an incredible Ajax side (who had dunked on Juventus and Madrid) with Llorente and Lucas and Dele. Not Son and Kane. That’s elite. That’s class.
