That's your opinion, I like Xavi but other people think he's been shit.

That's totally besides the point, whether you like him or I like him or not, let's work in facts, not feelings. Xavi is a natural no10, has more experience playing in that role and has played more mins than Bergvall.

It doesn't matter anyway because Postecoglou had Maddison and Kulusevski fit for most of the season, and Frank had Xavi for that position when he wasn't injured as well.

Um kinda does matter seeing as we are talking about the differences between the two seasons. As I said before Frank had his back 4/5 pretty much in tact all season whilst Ange didn't, it works both ways - the difference comes down to the replacements which is what we're discussing.

You obviously think having Xavi is better than having Maddison and Kulusevski, that's up to you, I don't agree. And again Begvall was voted player of the season inclusing when he replaced Maddison.

And there you go again - twisting the argument once again, when did I say that having Xavi is better than having Maddison and Kulusevski, go on point me to where I said that? You're not going to do it though because all you've done is straw man this entire debate and when I've asked you to back up your accusations you've ignored me like a coward, and you're gonna do it again.

This is like shouting into a cave.

I keep having to repeat myself because you just ignore points and twist them.

Are you actually interested in having a discussion or just interested in arguing the toss, seems like it's the latter to me.

That's the legacy that started under him 22 league defeats was historic and unacceptable.
This is another fallacy repeated by Ange-bashers. Yes 22 defeats is our (joint) top most defeats in the top-flight, but it's hardly the massive outlier it's made out to be.

We've lost 21 games on 3 occasions in division 1 before, for example. In the 1953-54 season (just a couple of years after winning the league with Arthur Rowe's legendary Push-and-Run team), in the 1974-75 season (Bill Nicholson's last one at the club), and in 1976-77 (Keith Burkinshaw's infamous first season which was when we last got relegated).

We've also lost 20 games in a season a handful of times before too, the most recent being in 1991-92 just after we last won the FA Cup.

We've lost more than 16 games in a top flight season over 20 times in our history, and we're very likely to do it again this season as well, unless De Zerbi is some kind of miracle worker.

The fact is Spurs have never done that well in the league. We've only ever won it twice for fuck's sake. We've always been known as a cup-winning team, albeit one that over the last 40 years, hasn't even won that many cups.

That's why Postecoglou will always have a place in the hearts of that strange coterie of Spurs fans who prefer the glory of winning trophies, to a mundane top ten finish in the table.

If you like being an also-ran in the league, while not winning anything, why don't you go and support that lot down the road?

They seem to have got it off to a fine art.

I'd say Kolo was about as useful for Frank as Werner was for Postecoglou. Bergvall was also injured for a fair while in addition to Kulusevski and Maddison.

It's all swings and roundabouts really, both managers had injury problems of similar magnitude, Frank even had a game when there's wasn't 11 senior players and Romero had to play whist he was unwell to make up the numbers. Postecoglou played Forster in goal. Frank had to use a youth player in defence.

I suggest instead of having a competition to see who can piss the highest we could agree both managers could cite their injuries as a reason for failure, and one isn't any more legitimate than the other.

Which one is actually the better manager is a different conversation IMO.
When you put it like that, I can't help but agree with you. Glad we got there in the end.

Christ Derangers are stupid.

The argument over who had the worse injuries or who had the worse squad just proves that the problem wasn't the "manager" but those other things.

Just how thick and deranged do you have to be not to get that by now?

Someone close this fucking thread.

No fucking way. If we go down this will live as testament to every single Deranger fuckwit who cheered it on when they too fucking stupid not to realise what our real problems were.

This bloke's second last game was winning us our third European Trophy. Some of us prefered it when we were a club who won things and stayed up.

You don't like it? GTFO

Fuck you, you are his bitch, go suck his cock you brainless shitbag.

Exactly the type of quality content we've come to expect from Derangers who have sent us down with their stupidity.

Don't come in here with your bullshit and expect the free pass you get on the main board. This thread is for Spurs fans who like winning things and staying up. If you don't like it GTFO

Expect this thread to receive even more hostility from the usual suspects as the reality of the consequences of their stupidity become clear.

These guys are sending us down and they will blame anyone else but themselves for their own choices and their own stupidity.

Derangers demanded this. Never forget.

Like in the Romero thread, fans complaining of the fucking problems are the fucking problems themselves.

This thread is now (and always has been) a lightening rod for the stupidest most vile people on this site. Every single match week has proven just how stupid and wrong they were. This will only enrage them more.

But we have to remain calm and simply remind them that they got what they wanted. And this is ALL ON THEM.

A few minutes earlier on the Other Matches Thread:

Do you know ANYTHING about this game?

In June last year after you got what you wanted and Postecoglou was sacked:

Playing for 2nd or 3rd is more realistic imo..I don't think we're quite up to Liverpool standard but we can certainly beat Chelsea and Woolwich. Definitely a CL place...

My guy, a period of silent reflection would do you a hell of a lot of good.
