Whatever was said doesn’t matter. Udogie has been a big upgrade, Van de Ven has been excellent, Vicario has obviously been a big upgrade, Maddison has been great. Porro absolutely huge.

People can’t have it both ways e.g claiming our squad is weaker or as weak as the one Klopp started with but also then hyping up our team all the time and doing combined XI’s with mostly Spurs players.

Rubbish there were huge question marks over Udogie in some quarters after the first two games he was written of by GARY NEVILE. Vicario caught pelters after Brentford he got slaughtered. Sarr was in the bin and Kane had left Richarlison was...Well what he has been I looked at those teams. Neither of them were lower ranked by experts and bookies than we were no matter what false memories have convinced folk of. You get we are talking about before not the hindsight of us sitting fifth. I'm sorry people were laughing amazed you have forgotten. I had these arguments with people so I remember clearly. Van Der Ven was a massive gamble too.

So? Are they upgrades or not? Not what Neville said, not what ANYONE said, are these players better footballers than the ones available to the previous coach?

The answer is yes, yes they are. Vicario has been much better than last seasons version of Lloris. Not because Ange is some wonder coach but because he’s better at goalkeeping.

It's a moot point. Who was Liverpools goalkeeper then who was Woolwich. You can't simply go the squad was worse because these are not like for like comparisons. When the season started we were NOT rated more highly by the bookmakers, as a squad under our new coach. Its totally facile but typical of Pitt-Brooke to pretend that this is equitable. Its not. The mood around Spurs was terminal our best player had fled and we were actually tipped for relegation. Being captain hindsight and saying its a better squad is just dumb. It's not better these metrics are idiotic. Supprised you of all posters are buying it

Ange makes the squad look better.

The squad makes Ange look better.

If anything it shows Ange is more flexible with the type of player he can work with and it took Klopp longer to clear the decks to find players he could make better and in turn make him look better.

Is Vicario a better goalkeeper in your opinion than Mignolet was when Klopp took over at Liverpool?

Didn’t Klopp finish 4th first full season….?

His first season he arrived mid season with no transfers. Got to two cup finals but the squad was terrible.
