Just wondering if I can return my season ticket for a refund.
I've got mega Nono vibes. It doesn't matter what kind of football any of them want to play, if they're too small for the job, they'll take the shit lumped on them and it'll fall on its arse in a matter of months.

Expect a new deal for Dier, all the loanee rejects coming back for their 4th chance, mid table with a few tonkings by Novemeber and then the media vultures all circling.
Meanwhile, Kane will probably be banging them in for fun at whatever club he's gone to, whilst the players we use the money on will all look hopeless.

Because all of that is the Spurs DNA.
Should you not be saying this to the refunds department

Against Jose? I’m not overly confident….

Level headed attitude.

Putting my feelings on Enic aside for the purpose of this appt, Ange wasn't my 1st or 2nd option. However I will back him to deliver, but it will take time.

It's a full 180 from the past few managers.

Apparently it's a 2 year deal, with an additional 1 year option.

If he can unite Club and fans as he has done at Brisbane, Yokohama and Celtic that would be most welcome.

Strap in... will be wild ride.

Yeah I agree. Apparently he likes his side to have the ball and likes to attack. Will make a change from letting the other team have the ball while we wait camped on the edge of our box for one of our defenders to make a mistake. Might take a while to get that all out of them but apart from that I’m all in. I just want to enjoy actually going to games again.

We conceded more goals per game than any other season since we finished bottom and relegated in 1976-77.

It will be very easy for a new coach to reduce the number of goals we concede and therefore increase the number of points we win.

Everyone is very pessimistic right now and I get it. But even without improvements, these players can concede 10 goals fewer with a better system. That’s got to be worth 5 points alone.

Bring in a better centreback and we should be immediately challenging for Europa and playing much better football.

LETS FUCKING DO THIS
Just need to work out how to replace Kane's 30 goals now 😄

Why would we concede fewer goals when going for a more open manager? We have dreadful defenders and dreadful keepers. I don’t trust Levy to adequately deal with that problem.

And Kane is probably off which will offset any hypothetical defensive improvement.
Do more attacking managers concede more goals?

Sometimes, not always. The point of a high press is to concede fewer goals by keeping the ball as far away as possible.

Fact is there are 100 reasons this appointment might go wrong and 100 reasons for optimism. You’re choosing to be negative about this. That won’t affect what actually happens (none of our opinions will change what happens on the pitch) but you just end up being negative for however long. Is there any end in sight to your negativity?

His name is Angelos. My wife's name Angela but shortened to Ange which she is happy with.
If my name was Angelos I would consider its full spelling or Angelo maybe, but Ange would be the least appealing.
Unless he is using the Johnny Cash theory in the song a boy named Sue.
Seriously I wish him well and am looking forward to it.
Your name's Den, isn't it?

Not my choice for next Spurs manager, I did not even have a clue who the Celtic manager was but he seems like someone who will back himself to take on any job.

What I have seen and heard from him he seems like an uncompromising in his demands. He may not even been on the list at the start of this process but he was on the City Football Groups list of managers they are tracking.

I thought about this and found this interview. He said he was happy to take full responsibility if it doesn't work out in the transfer market. He doesn't mention youth but I suppose if you good enough and have a good attitude your in.

Not sure how or what the plan will be if he comes here though

He loves an interview doesn’t he? Not sure I’ve ever seen so much content on one of our managers before they come to the club. Seems to love a chat almost as much as redknapp!

No-one had even heard of him, let alone ready to take a chance on him. Even Celtic fans were against it and they can win titles with a well waterer cactus in charge.
I don't really care if they changed their minds, he's achieved nothing more than anyone up there. Less than Rodgers and Lennon in fact.
The only way a coach in Scotland can say they've achieved something is to do it in Europe with one of the big 2, or take one of other teams to better things than being 30 points behind them every year.

People on here were all wanking themselves off at the idea of Gerrard coming after winning the title with Rangers, which is arguably a bigger achievement than strolling yet another treble with celtic, just like Rodgers, just like Lennon, just like Delia, just like O'Neil

I hope Ange proves me entirely wrong. I'd love nothing more than to have egg on my face and watch Spurs take giant strides forward, to make me enjoy the 6 hour day out like the old days, to have that feeling we might just do something. I don't want him to fail.
I just feel he will. Like this is too big a step, too big a challenge. In some ways, I feel sorry for him because he may really regret this in the not too distant future.

So should we have gone for Martin O’
Neil who got Celtic to a European final?

When I’m not correct much more often that not with the negativity, I’ll change stance.

You said the same things when I told you (and others) we would finish 8th and us being 4th was a false position.

I’m not even negative about the Ange appointment in isolation - it’s everything surrounding it & how this club operates that makes me think he’s likely to fail. Most managers would.

good luck to him, seems like hes a mans man which is a must especially with these bunch of cowards we have. hopefully he comes in and tears the place up. seems like he has standards so a lot of these wankers shouldnt survive long.

I didn’t. Our 4th place was always a false position because of the games in hand.

But you are free to support the team however you like and if negativity is your thing…

why would he be too small? conte and mourinho both failed and have massive reps so the rep clearly means fuck all. hes not going into a dressing room of winners, these cunts have won fuck all because they are fucking shit and some of them shouldnt be anywhere near the level we want to be at. might take someone like this to go in and rip it up a bit and shift some of the loitering shit weve had to suffer for years.
Mourinho got us to a cup final, and took us from 14th in November to the Ropey league.

Conte took us from the Nono shambles to a breathtaking run to finish 4th. This season, he took a record number of points after 10 games, then had us right up near the top, and then had us a few seconds away from 3rd in the league before a bent penalty ended his sanity.
They didn't fail. They arguably both over achieved with the resources they had.
After Conte went we dropped like a fucking stone this season. It's almost as if he had a shit team punching well above its weight, even if they were fighting ugly, they were fighting.

Now let's have a crack with a bloke who has less big league experience than even Nono!
Our biggest punts in the Levy era were probably AVB (success in Portugal and European success) Poch (had Espanyol and Saints punching well above their weight) and Nono (got Wolves promoted and top half finishes in multiple seasons)

And now. Some one with nowhere near that kind of experience.
It's a massive, borderline reckless gamble
