Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Well yes that's exactly my point, Klopp gave it a chance whilst Conte chose not to, we are comparing the situations, not the players - I just bought up Salah to force home my point that not all managers get their own way and club's do tend to make their own signings, it's not exclusive to us.

Didn't Liverpool just bosh Klopp with Arthur Melo and Klopp didn't even include him in senior training?

My (kind of) Head Coach.

When I was playing, I never truly got on with them managers who'd stay in the office or on the touchline while their assistant/s ran practice. And, funnily enough, they were the ones we had the poorest results with.

I want the boss out there with us, in his trackies and boots, right in the thick of it...observing everything, shouting instructions, giving us shit when we fuck up, praising the lads when they execute nicely.

I don't care whether he played professionally or not, I only give a shit about the manager - and man - he is right now. I want him out there with us, leading the troops. That's how you earn respect, how you get the boys to take a bullet for you.

Ain't got a frigging clue how things gonna turn out for Big Ange at Spurs, and for sure its legitimate to have doubts seen as he has next to zilch elite level experience, but man do I wish him the very best. Proper football man he is, exactly how you want your Head Coach if you're a player, and he sounds like a right good bloke too.

COYS
Funny thing is he has managed at elite level. Don’t you call the World Cup probably the most elite level you could achieve???
He also played in the then semi professional National Soccer League for South Melbourne. That’s where he met and was influenced by Ferenc Puskas. Fun fact. When he was in school, he played for the school team and the coach was the maths teacher. Apparently he was shite. The school was a mad AFL school and football was not on the radar. To the point they had to wear old Aussie Rules jerseys. So at the ripe old age of 12 or 13 from memory, Ange took over managing the team. He was the youngest player too! Yep you know it. They won everything in front of them. He cites that as the moment he knew he wanted to be a manager.

But the example you used does not reflect well on Levy do you not think . As an ardent Levy outer it‘s easy for me to argue other clubs do the same as Levy but get it right . I will concede the point as I am sure this does happen you just picked a bad example . The worrying thing even then is Liverpool picked a manager willing to work like that , Levy picked Conte in the last instance who he should / would have known is a tosser in such matters

Waiting for the annoucement.
*announcement

loving the new smilies, by the way.

:ange-clap:

No argument from me here.

Levy refuses to adjust the budget and wage bill to match the world Class stadium he built.

But still expects the results that Poch squad got him.

He’d love it if he could win without investing what it takes but it doesn’t mean enough to him that he’d change the policy to achieve it.

I’m really hoping to enjoy watching Ange ball but not going into it with any false expectations of the club. Levy is more than happy for the club to cruise along in the top 8, filling the stadium and selling beer.
Regardless of what's invested/not, whoever we bring in...I friggin want Ange to succeed, of course I do, cause that means friggin good things happening for Spurs.

But I gotta say I'd still fucking hate seeing that Baldy cunt bask in the glory, claiming it's down to him and his cronies, that he was right all along despite the skepticism from fans etc etc.

That and all his butt-puppies on here (led by Mr Arrogant Prick from the city of light you know who) jumping at the chance to shout their shitty rhetoric from the rooftops.

In an ideal world, we can be successful and still out Danny boy publicly for his utter shite mismanagement over the past xx years

4 year deal actually shows good intention of riding this thing out, I know contracts don't mean much on paper but it'll at least stop the questions and speculation as to whether he'll leave/be sacked.

I'm looking forward to his appointment because we clearly need a massive refresh and from what I've been hearing/reading he's the man to do it.
I agree , now let’s both go and circle this date in our diaries

Maybe those achievments need to be added to his Wiki page.

If you look at his personality, winning history and style of play then he is a great fit for us. Finally we have a coach who could make us better than the sum of our parts and will improve players. We haven’t had that since Poch. This is a great appointment and only our most negative bores will be anything other than excited.

Time will tell on whether it reflects well on Levy or not, we don't know how good Spence can be, we do know that he looked pretty good and shut down Martinelli in the Cup game the season before so there's some potential to work with and we know that for a long time Conte was playing Emerson who was horrific before he started to get it together.

I'm not even saying that Spence is going to be a world star but to not give him a chance when there was ample opportunity to do so in cup games was weird and came across as pretty spiteful.

Ultimately my point is that he isn't the first manager to have club signings and won't be the last but to just flat out refuse to use him leaves a bitter taste in the mouth and just screams of someone playing politics with the chairman to the detriment of the team and the player.

If Danny boy is finally stepping back and we end up being successful that’s a lot of egg on that baldies face! :ange-hmm:
