Get a grip!

We had a disjointed preseason as far as competitive games went.

How was he supposed to make an assessment in a competitive environment?

Would you rather he played some of the second string in the first three league games and we lost those?

I’d take an early CC exit if it means getting in two or three quality players and the dross moved out before the window shuts.
There was literally no need for that line up. There is nothing to find out. We all know the players that arent up to scratch. Theyve been here for years. If he didnt already know this then that is worrying. At a push you could have just rested a guy like Maddison. We’re 3 games into a season with no european football.

Didn’t like the rotation but half expected it.

Hope he plays our strongest team in the FA cup in every game regardless of the opposition. There is no reason not to.

We won't know until the day sadly. Anything Ange says about the importance of the FA Cup beforehand will be bullshit.

I hope he has both ears open with the fan anger after that line up. Not even the game. Just the line up.

if you sulk like this after a game like that then you can expect to sulk some more. There will be highs and lows and this isn’t even going to be the lowest mark

Lows are part and parcel- I get that. I’ve stayed until the end of many a low -Poch v Bayern, Newcastle last season, shit, the last europa game at the Lane. You need the lows for the highs to be sweeter. But I mind when people say they want to win every game and then make that number of changes.

The honeymoon is over, Ange!
Nope.

Everyone loves what he's doing.

Tonight was 360 shit, tho.

As emotionally intelligent as he, clearly, is.

This was some serious glitch in his appreciation of the fanbase, here, and our desperation to win a cup.

He actually did THAT in his first cup game at a silverware starved club.

Inexplicable.

Think the real sore point is, we all have fully bought into his style of play so much and feel we can win stuff with it.

Even in his first season.

Then he pulls this straight out the gate.

Shocking stuff.

I'm pretty sure he will.
This may have been a last chance to look at fringe players three days before the window closes and possibly a statement to the bald fraud that we have no chance further down the line if this is our squad depth.

But with a young side he will have to rely on a team like that later in the season. You can clearly sound your intention of winning and clearly demonstrate to the powers that be that you don’t have the manpower to do it. With only a few days left until the window shuts and now a follower base that has been triggered, watch for what happens with player movement.

You still don’t have to play them all at once though.

So we’re out of a cup to prove to Levy his recruitment and retention is wrong. Terrific.

Nine changes is insane, and until it was laid out in front of me I almost forgot how poor the depth of the squad was, after being mesmerised by the first team for the last few weeks

Get what he means about testing the depth and finding out about his players given how poorly organised the pre-season was (let’s go travel to Singapore during the monsoon season, what could go wrong?!) surely there’s a better way to do it then shipping the majority of the first team in a competitive competition

He's dropped a clanger tonight. The fans of this club are crying out for a trophy - any trophy.
It's sad that everyone at the club is seemingly oblivious to this.

Its still early days but if he does this in the FA cup in January again I'll be calling for his head.

Right I've watched the post match interview, now clear to me ange barely gave a fuck about this competition. Good in one sense in that it made me realise it want incompetence eaxctly, just that he genuinely is not on the same wavelength as us fans who have sat with this team for 13 years not winning shit. Might make seeing the fan reaction for him to realise that even the league cup is super important to us. Prem wise he knows what its all about and is fully aware thats what he will be defined on this season. But, given he has not had the burden of being a spurs fan for however many years/first time managing in England, I think his completely missed how important this competition is. His viewpoint is this was one of those opportunities to get to see the rest of his squad have a go - basically an more competitive pre-season game for him to assess his players. For us this was huge. I really don't think foreign managers give a fuck about it until they have been here for a while

He found out that playing Hojbjerg, Skipp, Emerson and Davies in the same 11 is a creativity black hole. They can stay as squad options (apart from Hojbjerg who we have the chance to make a decent profit from), but they absolutely can not play together again.
Lo Celso is a squad player that you can bring against tired legs, but unless he has Bissouma or Kulusevski nearby, he not creative enough to unlock defences on his own.
