Does anyone think Ange has lost the dressing room?

I think the players will like him as a bloke, but definitely think they also question his actual credentials as a supposed top manager. I wasn't posting here at the beginning of the season but privately was telling anyone that would listen that the style of football wasn't sustainable and at some point of the season we would hit a brick wall.

Do we keep Maddison in the summer or flip him on for a profit and try and sign Eze instead? Might not be the worse idea?
Nah I’d keep him because good players find a way back to form. If we had better front players who can keep the ball, take other players out of the game it’ll open up space for him and he’ll hurt teams. I would like Eze too to play with him or put pressure on him to take his place.
Getting front players is a massive priority. I think Ange will know this. His teams need those front players to function much better than we have been for the majority of the season, especially the wide ones.

The players might love him and think he’s a great coach. Why would you definitely think they’ll question his actual credentials? That’s just what you think.

First post here, it was last night that inspired me to sign up. I’m really worried about Ange and his tactics and it looks like the early enthusiasm may have been misplaced. Hope I’m wrong but I never wanted him in the first place.
Welcome to the forum Kleinfeld Kleinfeld . Great first post.
Did you know there's another Postecoglou thread running concurrently.
You're views would be especially welcome there.

I don't think Son is the most intelligence footballer nor do I think outside of his ball striking ability, he's that technical either no.

Have you watched Son over the years? Brilliant when given space. Pretty poor when he isn't.

Don't really think there's been much wrong with Ange signings on the whole.

Vicario, van de Ven and Maddison were all huge upgrades. Dragusin is a good third choice centre back. I don't really think Solomon or Warner were Ange choices, just options presented (certainly Werner) and Johnson is a bit too inconsistent.

Hopefully Bergvall proves to be a star and we continue to make good signings in the summer. We'll need to.

The back five are the bravest players we have.

Fault for shipping goals lies solely on the fact our front players are so poor technically they're constantly turning over possession whilst we're high and susceptible to the break.

Improve that, we'll concede less, simple.

Not really sure it's been sussed out when we're not even playing with the same intensity.

I implore you go back and watch some of the earlier games of the season. Movement, pressing, speed of play.

If anything I think it's shown that at the beginning of the season literally every single player was on form or playing above their level and because the squad is so limited in ability, they quite simply have to be playing at that level to succeed. Injuries, suspensions, international tournaments halted not only that group of players fitness but form too. Which in turn for whatever reason has dented their confidence and belief.

It's definitely down to Ange to sort. And whilst none of us like the results. I think in the long run, this is a good thing because now nothings clouded. We've got a much bigger sample size on these players to know who can cut it and who can't. First 10 games? Bissouma was one of the best midfielders in the league for example. After 33? Perhaps not.

Massive summer ahead.
How many summers have we had with Enic..? This will just be another...foolish to think anything else really...

I'm not Ange Out cause I believe in giving people time to fully settle in, especially when we're talking about the megamess that is Spurs under an inept chairman and major cunt like Levy.

But I'm certainly of the opinion that Ange is out of his depth. Way out. This ain't Oz, Japan or the SPL. This is the unforgiving Premier League. And this is Spurs. We're a big club with a proper history.

Great spokesperson, the big fella sure could make a terrific PR man. But as head coach of Tottenham Hotspur, so far he's failed and not by a small margin.

I'll give him time, cause where the eff are we going if we sack him?! Yet another manager, yet another project?! Talk about a vicious circle.

Also, the players are massively to blame for yet another shite season. How many managers are they gonna let down? Absolute disgrace the lot of them. They don't care about the shirt they wear or the fans they represent.
Absolutely spot on

Not at all. I think the opposite, players that looked terrified of not delivering what he wants.

I’ve been very critical of Johnson. I don’t think he’s very good, but yesterday he looked scared. Ange has put a huge amount of pressure and responsibility on the players. It’s all very well screaming ‘stop passing backwards!’. But all he’s really saying is ‘play fucking better!’.

As others have suggested, I think he might be out of his depth. He’s found success in leagues where there’s a far wider range of ability across teams. The PL isn’t like that. Teams are far more equal and the margins are far tighter.

The worry is that he needs exceptionally good players to deliver the football he wants. And there’s no chance he gets those from the bald cunt.

To me he looked desperate. Hes managing established internationals. If plan A doesnt work. They will start questioning him like the fans do. Hes on borrowed time, because other teams have figured him out.

The fact is we are where we are because of ENICs mediocrity in the market. Always has been always will be.

We are gatekeepers. The goal will always be a 4th spot finish whilst trying to maximise income and minimise outgoings. Thats it. Thats the project.

Even if by some miracle Ange became a quality manager, works on a shoe string budget and tirelessly works to build a solid team over a number of years, we will always fall short, run out of steam, lack that final bit of quality to push for trophies, not replenish the squad with said quality, and ultimately fizzle out, get sacked and recycle the project with another squad makeover on a minimal budget.

Now think where we would be right now, had we just stuck our hand in our pocket when Poch begged Levy to splash the cash in the market. It was long overdue.

Liverpool did it, they bought big when and where necessary. Smart buys and choosing carefully.

But this club doesnt operate like that. We buy in cycles. And then recycle when it goes bad.

Thats why the only time weve ever had relative success is when weve had a flexible manager with enough tactical prowess but not too dogmatic that it actually harms the play when you are trying to put players in a system they dont have the ability to do. Someone that can work with the tools at hand and pull us up buy the bootstraps and being a father figure and motivator. Redknapp. Poch.

Yep and we always lose our world class players because of it.
