He also had most of the players from the season before that were smashing teams.
 
A note for Ange... that's what 30 years of underachievement will do to a loyal fan base.

Where was that anger we sold Kane and didn't replace him? When we went what was it 4 down away to Brighton, blew up 3-0 away to Fulham, played a weakened team 3 GAMES into the season in a cup we bowed out of? Lost both home and away to Wolves, 4 down away to Liverpool? 3 down at HOME to that lot? 4-0 away to Newcastle, all at KEY moments in the season, 1 half time lead all season at home? Maybe if your lot and the club had delivered an ounce of what they should in those situations lasts nights predicament wouldn't have existed.

Don't dig us fans out!

Seems really p*ssed off yesterday and was extremely moody in the interviews after. I liked him when came in with his friendly matey easy going style of talking in the interviews.
But my word yesterday he got the total mardies... I can't is attitude now making such an issue of it....seeing a different side to him now!

Ange is our manager and his sole focus is to win, as it should be however yesterday was a once in a blue moon situation for the FANS. He is not a fan so yes, in his view it is "irrelevant" for squad selection, tactics etc, but the NARRATIVE is not irrelevant and this is where he went wrong.

He desperately tried to change the narrative having already failed to do so for the NLD, so he didn't learn his lesson. It is hilarious for a manger all season long to say that our style of play is what will determine our progress (not even table position) then suddenly stake it on our ability to beat Man City. He said this directly. Well Ange, when we're good, we beat city, when we're shit, we beat city, when we're meh, we beat city. We are Man City's boogey team. Did he even realise that it was under his management that we conceded our first goal at home to City since our new stadium was built? His alternate view was BS to begin with but because he was so desperate to eliminate the aspect of the North London rivalry, he tried to make it something it simply never was. Worse yet, because he believed so much in his own delusional narrative, it's made him lash out at the club and fans.

One thing that stood out to me in the post match press conference was his admission of the fans influence. He said the FANS got us extra time goals in the past, which is actually the most humble thing I've heard from him so far as manager. So for him to then proceed to call the fanbase "fragile" because of the anti Woolwich chants and apparent lack of support shows a massive contradiction in beliefs when you bare in mind what he's said all season long about the importance of the supporters free will to believe what they want - especially when things were going well and some were saying we could be title challengers. He effectively blamed the fans for the loss yesterday even if he didn't have the bollocks to directly say it.

And the final oddity which others have already pointed out is his sudden turn on team selection and tactics for THIS game. He finally started all three of our CBs together, shifted one to left-back, completely changed our shape out of possession with a prime Brighton level mid-block which was a masterstroke and completely stifled City in the first half. He even went with a false number 9 setup during attack with fucking Sarr being the furthest forward to press the ball. Call me cynical but this is Ange's most egotistical move as of yet. He had so much contempt for the narrative that we should lose that he FINALLY CHANGED TACTICS. He's sat back and watched us get battered week in week out with the same shite set-up but yesterday was the day he re-imagined the squad. No one can deny that those tactics and squad selection were out of character.

I change when I want to change and if think i'm going to throw this away for your benefit then you'll see the biggest change yet!

The fact that he is only willing to adapt the squad tactically out of contempt for the noise surrounding a match makes me doubt his composure. We could have had this set up (and it was a rather good one) against Woolwich (who play similar football to City), against Newcastle etc. His ego has leaked onto the pitch. He's actually lucky it's the end of the season because everyone can fuck off and calm down.

Like man answer the fucking question or don't. Every sentence out of your mouth does not have to be some sort of wisecrack.

His response last night to the journo who asked "were you pleased with the players' application?" such a basic and harmless question which he should have taken in a positive direction but instead chose to go on a rant.

How about direct some of that energy to shitty officials/rival teams over the course of the season like all the other top coaches do.

Tottenham Hotspur are confident that Ange Postecoglou is not unhappy at the club and that his angry post-match press conference following the Manchester City defeat was not sparked by deep-seated issues.
Having clashed with a supporter inside the ground, head coach Postecoglou lamented Tottenham’s “fragile foundations” and said he had discovered issues inside and outside the club in the 48 hours around the City game.

But Tottenham and sources close to Postecoglou are convinced that his frustration was simply aimed at the debate around whether or not Spurs fans would support their team or back City to prevent Woolwich winning the Premier League title.

Postecoglou’s rant provoked some fears among supporters that he was hinting at wider discontent and that cracks could already be appearing between himself and Spurs.

But that has been dismissed to Telegraph Sport by Tottenham sources and those who know Postecoglou, who stress his frustration at the build-up and the reaction of some fans who cheered City’s goals simply boiled over.

Postecoglou had repeatedly dismissed the importance of qualifying for the Champions League, so it is not thought his anger was directed at missing out on fourth place to Aston Villa.

But during the City game, his determination to win jarred with the attitude of others who preferred that Spurs did not do a favour to their rivals Woolwich.

Some within the club had been keen to secure a top-four finish, but recognise that progress has been made during Postecoglou’s first season in charge and believe his approach will pay off.
Tottenham are planning to back Postecoglou in the summer transfer window, with the Australian already warning that he wants to make a host of changes.

It remains to be seen just how far chairman Daniel Levy is prepared to go in his backing of Postecoglou, who wants a striker, midfielder and a defender, with Richarlison potentially leading an exodus of current Spurs players to help to raise funds.


 
A manager who cares, a manager who wants to win, a manager that gets angry when we lose, a manager who’s plays good football, a manager that wants to change a club used to losing into a club with a winning mentatlity, sounds good to me

Lets face it, if he'd have played Dragusin instead of Davies or Royal we may have gathered enough points to be in the CL anyway regardless of last nights game.
I also think he doesn't remember what its like to be a "fan/supporter.
We all know the management and players would go for the win but its a different animal being a Fan and bragging rights is sometimes all you have, especially when the club you love is owned by Enic

Meh. He was clearly pissed off and in a shitty mood, it happens.

With regards to him needing to direct that energy to referees and rival clubs, that's what a fan would do, not a manager trying to change a club with a fragile mentality who are allergic to winning. He needs to alter that, not feed it with conspiracies and pandering.

It's embarrassing when Arteta/Woolwich cries about decisions and releases whiny statements or when Klopp demands matches be replayed.

I remember when we were unbeaten at the start of the season, I was posting everything that Ange said. If Ange said it, he got likes. If I said it, without Ange quotes, I still got cunted off.
