As far fetched as that sounds it sort of makes sense, good with the press, players seem to like him, FA counteracting the claims of negative football, previous international management experience.

Cant see him wanting it but i guess if we piss around in the transfer window for another 3 or 4 weeks he might come round to the idea.

I can't see him wanting to take that job. Being a national team manager is basically a part time job, fit for managers between jobs, or in the twilight of their careers.

Who the hell on here is behind that site, reveal yourself please!!

" You can be a loser and a disaster of a manager like Enrique was, but if you're European, and have a name as a player from a big European club, you're then in the mix to manage Spurs."

A loser and a disaster who has a CL treble on his CV.

There is zero correlation between how mnay CL's on the CV and being a top manager. There are a few great players eg Cruyff, Zidane, Deschamp, who succeeded, but most don't.

Are you surprised that world class player who has won everything there is to win in the game and was respected for his tactical nous and leadership as a player was given a chance as a manager in a big league but an unknown Japanese manager wouldn't be?

Not surprised, it clearly opens doors. But...this was a guy with the world's best football talent production line at his disposal who had his pants pulled down on the biggest stage by a little known Japanese coach who didn't even get an offer from League 2...

I don't know why some won't admit that being from Europe offers opportunities beyond what taleent and ability alone would.

So when people say " If Ange were any good, why wasn't he wanted in Europe earlier?" Well open up your eyes because its happeneing again right before you -the Japanese coach IS good, but no-one in Europe cares that he is. Big Sam or Graham Potter it is, once again.

100%. Football is littered with top shelf players that are terrible managers. Rooney and Gerard just a couple of recent versions. No doubt their playing pedigree helps them get a faster start into better management positions than they would otherwise though.

By that logic the Costa Rica manager should be managing Real Madrid seeing as they beat Japan in a one off game, or as you put it, pulled their pants down?

It's not about being from Europe, it's having played or managed football at the highest level and unfortunately for your argument, that means having played in Europe or South America. Of course it opens doors, especially if you happened to be a great or even good player.

For every big name flop you can name, there will be an ex pro who played at the highest level who's is or has been a good manager and that's why that door will always be open for them.

Listen, I think I get what you're saying about the possibility of there being someone who's only ever managed/played in Australia, Japan etc having the ability to manage at the highest level but it's very unlikely to happen unless they start at the bottom in Europe/South America and work their way up from there.
