It may be both for us but the correlation between pressing to reduce the number of passes per defensive action and possession is blindingly clear across ALL teams.

It’s pretty clear that our press is the reason we have most of the ball.

Teams haven’t been happy to let us have the ball, we have taken it from them. Teams HAVE been happy to sit deep and defend when we have the ball because we haven’t been hurting them enough and we haven’t punished them after we turned them over.

Brentford showed encouraging signs because we did hurt them when we had the ball and after we turned them over.

But the season is 5 games old. Let’s see what it all looks like when we’ve played everyone once.

An odd fellow or not, I’ve tried to explain it as clearly as I can above.

No teams aren’t happy to give us the ball, we generally haven’t given them much choice either way. What they have been able to do is sit deep when we do have the ball because we hadn’t been breaking them down and we also hadn’t punished them when we did turn them over.
You're odd because you are still contending something I haven't said. And if you can't see teams are not attempting to win the ball from us in certain areas, then I can't help wonder what you are seeing. You are having a conversation with yourself or at best Matt. Like Deuterz I can see what's going on.

The post you replied to was a twist from me I can admit that but a logical one.

People have claimed that teams have been happy for us to dominate possession. When you see the clear correlation between teams that press effectively and dominating possession, the point I was making is that saying teams are happy to let us dominate the ball is the same as saying teams are happy to let us turn them over in the press. Because that’s how we (and every other team in the prem) get possession in the first place,

But we probably agree about teams being too comfortable when we do have possession. If we hurt every team with possession and turnovers like we did Brentford in the first half, they won’t be as comfortable.

Thought we’ve played better in periods of other games than we did against Brentford tbh.

The difference with Brentford was final execution and even then we still have a few levels to reach in terms of ruthlessness.

I’m not saying we are “better than our position in the table”. I’m saying the season is 5 games old so it’s too early to read much.
I think also we had more space in transition. 3rd goal was a counter after biss wins ball back in front of our pen box. That was a conte goal not an angebsll. First goal MADDs intercepts high up a bad pass. Prbly the 2nd goal is how we should play winning the ball on half way line and goi g for it.

I couldn't watch more than 2 minutes of this

So awkward , everyone looking like they'd rather be anywhere else but there

Completely pointless exercise with vetted questions

What were you expecting though?

These type of corporate Q&A are never going to bring anything earth shattering as they’re hardly going to say anything contentious or that puts the club into a bad light.

It’s more an insight into brand THFC for people new to the club than something die hard fans are going find enlightening.

It was exactly what I expected , sadly

Aggregators in the absolute mud. Imagine being a Spurs twitter page and just outright making up shit quote for likes.

Well said Ange. It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. At Spurs we set our sights very high, so that even failure will have in it an echo of glory.
