I think everyone needs to step back and not get carried away by the defeats or the victories. Would do everyone a lot of good. Got to be pleased with the wins though and you can only beat (or not) what is put in front of you.
We arent packed with a squad who is used to playing in two high pressure games a week. It is what a lot of fans who's clubs arent in the CL or EL dont get. To perform every game in both competitions at a top level without it dropping is hard, especially when players are swapped in and out.
I did and they do - we are clearly not going to hit that mark but could still end up with 9 which would be acceptable..... just.....
If we don't beat Villa on the weekend I'm not sure where we go from there - I don't want him sacked and have to start this whole thing all over again but we absolutely have to find some consistency soon and string a proper run of games together. The cup runs are very welcomed but should not come at the expense of us challenging for a CL spot.
You would think these factors would be obvious to stat peddlers but they’ll clutch at straws to suit themselves.
This place is mad isn’t it. I honestly don’t think the vast majority of fans are calling for his head after every bad result.
Most of us are behind him and want him to succeed here.

The Ange outers are just a load of boring noise, just emotional man children who don't want to go through a pain of a rebuild and can't take any adversity, pointless even engaging with them, they're not serious.
I treat them similar to the ENIC outers, just a load of entitled keyboard warriors crying at a result but don't really mean what they say because they're just being over emotional in the moment

Pretty simple for me , we are shrinking the wage bill . This means in effect winning anything is even more of a challenge , add to that we sold Kane and replaced him with Solanke and it’s an even bigger mountain to climb . Not digging out Solanke , he is ok , Kane is almost impossible to replace .
So with that in mind I remain happy with Ange as manager who plays a decent style of football I enjoy watching . I also have no desire to see him kidnapped by aliens unlike Jose and Conte

Ange seems to save his displays of adaptability for City games. I would like to see him show this against other teams. Hopefully with Mickey out his hand is forced and he doesn't play the same high line with Drag.
There is nothing wrong with being a counter-attacking team in big games, especially away from home. It suits our forwards right now too.
A bit more solidity and nous is required against the big boys, not just blind devotion to suicide-ball.

I saw the sadness in his eyes when the interviewer brought up the latest news about Amorim potentially becoming manager. I think he's got a taste for being a manager and will want to test himself. Just my gut feelz!
This is a good point, it doesn't matter who the manager is his hands are still going to be tied anyway so it's entirely pointless changing him. He's not perfect and he has his flaws (everyone does) but he's probably the best person who can work with the club and the club's restraints and is happy to lap up the board's BS.

Generally speaking, unless your new hire is very shite and you keep getting battered, then afford him that time. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that. Plenty examples out there where patience and stability reaped dividends.
Even more appropriate when it comes to Spurs. For sure, Ange isn't perfect or blameless, there's a fair few holes in his work. But we finished 5th last year & we sure ain't out of the Top 4 race this time round, we're in the 1/4 of the Carabao, should defo reach the next round in the EL. The footy is often chaotic but it's way more entertaining than under Jose & Conte. He's given academy kids a shot, which we all bloody love and it's also financially viable for the club. And though I don't always find Ange to be genuine in front of the camera, I still think there's a nice enough bloke in there. (How's that for being a true Spurs fan, Phomesy ?...)
Besides, it's not like Slot taking over at Liverpool, where the squad is (much) stronger and players already got that elite mentality after them many successful years under Klopp. There's a proper winning culture there, there's a real structure, there's logic in the decision-making, and if you look at what they did with Klopp & Edwards, they make sure there's a real entente between the coach and execs. Pretty much can say the same thing about City and the cunts down the road. United used to have that, so did Chelsea. Newcastle & Villa trying to emulate.
If you add to that that Ange hasn't had the required backing, as was the case with all our previous managers under ENIC, then yeah I'd say he's earned the right to finish this season, unless things take a turn for the worse obviously.
In the long run, I still don't think he's the man to take us to the heights we all crave, but sack him now and what? Like I've said previously, you could hire Pep + Klopp + Ancelotti as our HC trio and they still wouldn't get us to that point. Cause the coach at Spurs is and has been the easy scapegoat ever since ENIC took over. Whether that's Ange or the next guy, we'll only be successful once we start living & breathing like an elite club, not just talking the talk. And I'd still say the same if miraculously we ended up winning a cup this season.

The only time I questioned renewing my season ticket was when three things came together for an extended period. Was always going to renew in reality, but I had started to question why bother .

Bring him in. The man knows more about football - and scoring goals - than all of Ange's staff combined. I've always thought he had an aura that man. Met him when he was a player and later during social gathering at Old Trafford, always struck me as charismatic and intelligent. I'm convinced he'll make a great manager some day.
We could sell him on that...come be part of Ange's staff for a year or two, then when the big fella moves on, you take over. He could still go back be head honcho at his beloved Utd after a stint with us, it ain't like he was joining Liverpool, City, Woolwich or Chelsea.

I think those that are calling for AP's head right now would ease up if he would just adapt his style/approach in some games for the reasons (We arent packed with a squad who is used to playing in two high pressure games a week) you say. I thought we set-up a bit deeper against City and soaked up the pressure well and as a result controlled the game better without the majority of possession. Showed me Ange might be softening on the 'my way or no way' approach?
