Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Bring him in. The man knows more about football - and scoring goals - than all of Ange's staff combined. I've always thought he had an aura that man. Met him when he was a player and later during social gathering at Old Trafford, always struck me as charismatic and intelligent. I'm convinced he'll make a great manager some day.

We could sell him on that...come be part of Ange's staff for a year or two, then when the big fella moves on, you take over. He could still go back be head honcho at his beloved Utd after a stint with us, it ain't like he was joining Liverpool, City, Woolwich or Chelsea.

I can't see how our forwards - even the whole squad - wouldn't drool at the thought of working daily with such a PL legend.

Think he will get a top job in management at some point.

Always comes across very well in any interview I’ve seen him in.

The Ange outers are just a load of boring noise, just emotional man children who don't want to go through a pain of a rebuild and can't take any adversity, pointless even engaging with them, they're not serious.

I treat them similar to the ENIC outers, just a load of entitled keyboard warriors crying at a result but don't really mean what they say because they're just being over emotional in the moment

Boring 💤💤💤💤💤

Not sure I agree on the ENIC part. That’s another discussion altogether over a much bigger sample size.

Ange seems to save his displays of adaptability for City games. I would like to see him show this against other teams. Hopefully with Mickey out his hand is forced and he doesn't play the same high line with Drag.

There is nothing wrong with being a counter-attacking team in big games, especially away from home. It suits our forwards right now too.

A bit more solidity and nous is required against the big boys, not just blind devotion to suicide-ball.
Nah.

The problem with stuff like this is that it's only good in hindsight.

Playing how we did yesterday was good cos we won. If we hadn't, people would find something to complain about.

The infamous Chelsea game is used to attack him cos we lost but if we had put away the chances we created with the brave high line and draw or even win, then it wouldn't have been so mocked.

We lost to Palace on the weekend cos we were well off it. It wasn't about a system but if he had decided to sit in, counter and we still lost, then it would be a 'failure to impose ourselves on a smaller team'.

We tried the counter attacking thing with managers who are experts in it and, not only did we still not win anything, it was incredibly awful and dull for the most part.

We did what we had to do to win yesterday. Great result. But he needs to stick with what he believes.

Those stats aren't telling the whole story because the managers served for different lengths of time. Bill Nick was our manager for 16 years which is why his PPG is a lot less than Conte's who only served for 15 months. He also managed in an era when teams were only awarded 2 points for a win.
1st point is valid, 2nd point is not - the PPG is recalculated based on the 3 points for a win standard.

We have conceded one goal this season to our "high line" being breached.

Our problem this year is defending the ball deep.

So actually not playing the high line would amount to this "Suicide ball" as you call it, wouldn't it?

Probably help if you actually watched our games

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Agreed. Ultimately I want him gone because I don't believe in him anymore, but I'm not someone who wants to be proved right, and I'll change my stance if Ange continues to get results and show he knows what he is doing.

"I want this guy gone because I don't believe he's any good BUT if he wins everything I'll be happy" is quite possibly the greatest "have my cake and eat it" fan philosophy ever. :D

Nobody who was there in the stadium that night ever "mocked" that high line that night. It was, rightly, seen as a statement of intent and a clear break with the philosophy of the previous 3 managers that Ange had been specifically hired to do.

However, you're right that subsequently a lot of the very worst type of Spurs fans hark back to that night and mockingly mutter "It's who we are, mate" like they personally despise Ange for ever saying it and ever holding that footballing philosophy. The prick in our row in the South that every hates does this all the time - he actively gets angry when the Ange chant gets sung. Imagine it?!

I couldn't' understand why it was such a lightening rod for these types - but I listened to Talksport on the way back from the game and was exposed to their talkback show for the first time and now I have a theory:

Jason Cundy is some no mark Chelsea twat who loves taunting Spurs. He uses Ange saying "it's who we are mate" as a sound grab. So it dawned on me that all the worst type of Spurs fans - the ones who call our manager a "fat fucking useless Aussie cunt" and the like - must all listen to this shit all the time and get triggered by it.

Imagine being affected by Jason Cundy so much you don't cheer in the stadium? That you want the manager sacked so Jason Cundy won't be able to take the piss?

Please guys - for your mental health STAY AWAY FROM TALKSPORT! :ange-facepalm: :D

I think you’re overthinking things. The idea Spurs fans are influenced by Cundy, one of the dumbest cunts in human existence, is a bit of a stretch. I don’t think he triggers anybody who can feed themselves unassisted.
