Theres a moment with every manager when you get a result there really isnt any coming back from. They might limp on for a bit but like AVB after he lost by 6 at City, Poch with that Bayern result, Ardiles when we lost 3-0 to Notts County, Mourinho when we went out to Zagreb... you know whats going to happen. Personally think enoughs enough now, look at the fixtures after the break until Christmas, we could easily be 13th/14th. This side is learning nothing and going nowhere.
Agreed.

I don't think every issue at the club is on Ange and I think the owners and chairman are the main reason we are where we are (I also don't trust them finding another manager.)

However, the results under Ange and that result today really have underlined what we can expect from him as a manager imo, mediocrity and inconsistency.

I think we need better players and a lot needs to change at the club but I also believe that he isn't getting the best out of what he has and his system and philosophy is flawed and naive.

It's not really a matter of being Ange in or Ange out at this point imo, the fact is, if he continues on like this, he will be sacked, regardleess of what anybody wants or doesn't want.

I'm starting to really dislike this guy. That we can beat City and other good teams is in spite of having Ange as a manager, not because of him.

Random individual errors is something no manager can control but if it come from the same source game after game, the manager must have the intelligence to spot it. Ange does not! He's thick as fuck. 2nd season trophy? STFU. You haven't done anything but underperforming since the Chelsea game last season. That was because of what Conte had left. The more influence this guy has, the worse we become.

That BJ was his dream signing says a lot about this guy. 50 m LMAO. And he plays him nearly every minute of every game.

Sack him tomorrow!

Don't think it's going to happen for the bloke. Very hard to have confidence that he has what it takes.

He is probably as perplexed as we are but the buck has to stop with him.

He can't expect not to be under pressure when we lose against the likes of Ipseich, with resort to them.

Back to the drawing board it seems.

Relatively easy fixture list so far btw. Next up the Etihad and then even Fulham at home is going to be tough. After that Bournemouth away and then? Chelsea.

Followed by a decent one against Southampton and then Liverpool.

We are going to be mid table after those games. We are now.

Regardless of what we the fans think, I don't think Levy will put up with too much more of this. A cup trophy won't be enough to save his job. That result and performance today was simply inexcusable.

I said after the Palace game and I'll say it again - I just don't see him succeeding.
Nothing points to an upward trajectory of success.

It's always the odd good result (e.g. Villa 4-1) followed a terrible one. No consistency at all.

He's been here long enough and it's the same issues time and time again:

We've handed a winless Palace and Ipswich their first victories of the season.
Terrible fist half performances.
Inability to cross a ball properly (must have gone to their keeper every time today).
Comical defending including being unable to control a football or deal with a bouncing ball.
Inability to keep clean sheets and ship goals at an alarming rate.
Relying on individual moments up front rather than creative attacking play.
Soft as sh*t away from home and versus teams who are physical.
Unable to deal with set pieces
Unable to do the basics and braindead decision making
Conceding the same goal from a cross from the left hand side constantly

Anything else i've missed?

All this is on the manager for me.
No way anyone can convince me the team we had out there today isnt capable of beating Ipswich with a better manager.

I always want every manager to succeed but I just don't see it with Ange - no team can achieve success that is so poor defensively and easy to beat.
Normally you build a house from the ground up laying strong foundations.
The only strong thing about us is the smell of the team and ange stinking the place out.

You have to make a judgement call what gives us ths best chance of a trophy and its difficult to think its more of the same of the vast majority of matches in 2024.

It was always thought we'd go out to the first good side we played, after Palace and Ipswich its not even that anymore.

I have been pretty happy clappy about Ange but I’m reluctantly resigned to it just not working out here with Ange.

Every goal conceded, the whole right side is missing, Porro is frantically tracking back, Johnson half heartedly doing the same, whoever is playing the 6 is pulled out wide to cover and we’re all over the shop.

This isn’t even a dig at Porro or any of the others, it’s clearly a tactical issue. It’s not going to work as is, something needs to change.
