If he goes now we get 5 months of Mason because the other candidates (Potter, Southgate etc.) will not be accepted... similar to when we were blowing kisses at Gatuso. The league is done... we aren't finishing top half... we probably won't get past the bin dippers in the League Cup... and no doubt after Tamworth we will get Liverpool away in the 4th round... but the Europa is very winnable and that is where the focus should be.

Because the injured players will hopefully be back and the strength in depth in the Europa is shocking and no Champions League drops into it... its winnable if we have our full squad, a few reinforcements in January and we prioritise it. I hope that helps explain my point of view
