Couldnt believe what i was hearing tbh. Ange record is appalling. Out of depth unfortunately with just one style of tactics. It may work in japan or SPL but the premier league is the pinnacle. Nothing against the bloke but this is unacceptable whats going on.
only an absolute failure of a chairman who has 1 league cup in almost 25 years at a big 6 club could hire someone so incompetent. hes the worst manager this leagues ever seen, by far!

Agree- Poch had actual leadership qualities and a galvanizing effect on team morale. But AVB and his tactics did not differ all that much.
Poch was different to AVB, they both liked a press and a high line but Poch had much more attacking instincts. I can remember AVB games where we went whole halves without a shot and then Bale would score a worldie and we won 1-0.

Going back to 3 CBs will require significant investment at that position.

I wouldn't be against it, but I think we'd have to buy 3 CBs in the next 13 months.

Meh, Romero is 100% off in the summer ( we aren't playing european football next season) so I really don't see the point in planning for a back 3.

In no world is Dragusin worth forcing in to a team anyway. Guy is limited on the ball and not quick, the antithesis of what most elite sides want.

Yeah. AVB is one of those guys that you either love or he rubs you the wrong way. Very principled as well. Definitely the sort of guy that can come off as a dickhead.

He's actually the president of Porto now. Maybe he could come back as chairman one day (wouldn't that be a sight?)
It’s funny both him and mourinho had the same types of problems with us- iirc both sacked in 7th playing crappy double pivot football.

Ange was the wrong man for the job from the start. Winning trophies in Greece, Australia and Scotland is not the Premiership. Even when leaking goals he refuses to change. He says we are short of centre backs but is looking to sign a left back, midfielder and a winger. God help us. We are the laughing stock of the league.

He got hounded out because we were boring, shit to watch and he had zero charisma. He wasn't a manager of a big club. He can over achieve with a middling team doing tactics fans of top clubs won't tolerate. He had an identity crisis here and had no idea what he wanted to do, we were neither offensive or defensive in nature.

We don't need to be a defensive side. That's not what anybody fucking wants. We're not even a good attacking team right now so this style vs style nonsense is irrelevant talk - we're just an incompetent jumbled mess of a football team. Nothing is working.
Is Iraola the most Poch type profile manager out there? Because that's basically what we need right?

Alonso is a complete pipe dream. His road ends with his appointment at Madrid, he's not going to accept an appointment that endangers that.

I think Nagelsmann is getable, contrary to what some think, because he's already had high profile failure and needs a bit of a rehab to get considered for tip top jobs again.

But I think it's Potter, Silva, or Iraola honestly.

"Spurs lure German national team manager away...."

WTF are you smoking? Pass it this way.

Remember boys, it’s his second season

We have Vuskovic coming over in the summer that can take a bench/cup role as he settles in and becomes homegrown. Philips as well possibly. So let's say two cbs and Luka coming in. That's doable. Especially if neither Romero or VDV goes.

But Potter isn't wedded to the 3 at the back either. He's done the 4-3-3 as well and the 4-5-1.

Isn't this was basically did him in at Chelsea? (Fuck another ex-chelsea manager. We have a type.)

It would be Nuno 2.0. Come here and manger just not the way you want to.

That isn't even what happened mate. It's way worse. The bloke was a patsy. He was told Not to play his preferred system. I was told he laid out what he wanted to do and Paratici told him directly no.

So he tried to accommodate the brief he was given and fell between it and what his method was. He had the most interference in team matters of any previous coach and because he wanted the job he took it. Meanwhile Paratici was waiting on Conte so he didn't really want Nuno to be too successful anyway.

It was a mess from beginning to end, but NES is still a better coach and tactician than the one we have. My partner who is an Italian says the Conte Paratici tango with Nuno in the middel is the kind of political manoeuvring that her country is renowned for. It's was brutal on Nuno so he was kind of owed today's,payback.

The biggest joke with Nuno was his system was 3-5-2 but he was told he had to play 4-3-3 because the fans wanted attacking football.
He failed, was sacked and Conte came in to play defensive 3-4-3

We aren’t a big club, nor are we a top club anymore.

We used to be a big club, now we have a big stadium

You really think any club in their right mind evaluates a manager based on how they get on at Spurs.

Nuno just humiliated us and by us I mean every Spurs fan who hounded him out. Conte will win silverware at Napoli as well, laughing in our faces the whole time.

The irony of your brand of posting and still being naive enough to type that out. Do you not know which club you support?
I like you Richard but you have a crazy blind spot with this guy
