We finished 5th because of the first 10 games. The amazing start supplemented by a new manager bounce, huge amounts of fortune and people not knowing how to play against Angeball saw us race out in front.

That form and level of performance has not been seen since. Regardless of squad fitness.
Agree, after those 10 games it has been average and, getting worse week by week.
Even when he has had everyone available, it's still been many of tbe same issues, I don't recall many times when the club has, won more than a couple of games in a row.
He is very lucky that levy hasn't binned him off, time will tell if this is the right decision.

Exactly, the big wins we had in 2024 are not some vindication of Ange they are just us punishing tired, lazy or shit teams with quick counter attacks. At Villa away last season and United away this season we also had a man advantage.

When was the last time we beat a team in good form? When was the last time we got three points because we outfought a tough opponent and earned the right to play? Or just snatched a goal and ground out a win? I honestly can’t remember.
We would do any of that as it would be an undeserved win😀

In 2024 we won 2 league games on the trot only twice. Palace and Villa in March and Brentford and Man Utd in September. We havent won 3 on the trot now for over a year. This is not normal. Even when we were a bit shit 20/25 years ago we could usually muster a run of results.

He's weak compared to Kulu which is why he's normally preferred in the midfield.
Kulusevski is worse than Maddison in duels.

Kulu has a better transitional game.

I think because Maddison can dwell on the ball at times and then has his petulant moments it probably sticks in the mind more when he does lose them.

Stats back it up too.
Maddison has a 55% duel win rate
Kulusevski has a 36% duel win rate

That's appalling, gives you a sense of how bad performances have been.
I still can't believe some of his antics, the 9 men against Chelsea, with the high line was ridiculous nobody could believe it.
Those comments about using subs, and that he basically didn't want to cheat by bringing them on, wtf, that's why teams have big benches, to help change games if required.

Ok fairs, strong in duels then

To be fair I never said he was strong...just that he's not weak.

Im not entirely sure why Maddison is getting dropped regularly...maybe he thinks he doesn't work hard enough..... maybe he's just managing him....I could be wrong but this might be the longest Maddison has gone without an injury for a few seasons

How is Sarr in the duels? That's actually where the original assertation came from, when Maddison was subbed for Saer against West Ham and it changed the match.

like Martin Jol, Poch was made for Spurs and turned them into a really good team. He didn't get to add a player for two (?) windows and did what no other spurs manager has done by getting us to a champions league final and also two pushes for the league (not seen for a while). The fact is that the current chap is not in his league nor does he have Poch's class ( evidenced by getting turned over twice last season (amidst the bravery (?) - is that the word for it? ) and a solution is required before the rest of the season leaves us with nothing.

I'm confused. I thought the fans wanted to win things.

Looking forward to Ange going and you leaving with him.
Mourinho had his fanboys, and to a certain extent that was understandable.
I understand you being nationalistic, but for you, who is an Ange not a Spurs fan, who understands fuck all about our club, and football in reality, to post like you do, just gives me another reason to want him gone, as we will relieve ourselves of a few clueless “supporters” also

I've followed Spurs since the 80's. From afar, that is true.

I’ve just risen from my Christmas / New Year bbqathon and drunken stupour. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. Thank you all for being welcoming to us Aussies. Even if we annoy you, you let us know in a somewhat nice way. Bring on 2025 and COYS! And fuck you Ange don’t make us look like a pack of crazy cunts!

No it hasn't but that to me suggests the problems are far deeper than just getting new manager. If serial winners with experience that far exceeds this guy Iraola, who has zero titles and 18 months of top flight football management- failed -what hope does he have? I say Buckley's and none.
Our most successful manager in Premier League wasn’t a "serial winner" buddy boyo. That doesn’t mean Iraola will walk the same path as Pochettino, but his work at his previous clubs is promising, even impressive and given that we’ll probably be left midtable when the current utter clown of a manager is sacked, we’ll need someone who can make us punch above our weight as a first step.

Oh and by the way your idol won’t win shit in Premier League mAtE, whether that is with Spurs or any other club that may give him another chance (chances are probably close to 0 seeing what a garbage job he’s doing here).

The irony of Ange ball is that the high tempo system is supposed to blitz the opposition and tire them out. It’s a fun exciting idea in theory.

The reality is that the system drained its own players leaving them half dead and easy pickings for the opposition. And it’s not just the physical exhaustion, the mental tiredness is also very evident.
