I can’t stop thinking about Arne Slot telling the press how much he “loves” Ange’s style of football, and these fools lapping it up as if it were genuine praise 🤣🤣🤣 Honest comedic gold!

Yep, loves Ange’s football because it allows his team to slap 6 in against us in our own backyard.

Hopefully the league is won for them by the time we turn up at Anfield, otherwise they might score 8 or 9.

And what makes you think Ange is the man do lead the change? What has he actually done in his career apart from winning in Scottland with Celtic.

What makes you think he's good enough for this level? It can't be his point average of 1.20 this season.
Lots of reasons. Ange seems to really behind the club and since day one has spoke as if he is 100% committed to the cause. He's alluded to the issues we've had and looking from the outside I have a feeling if given enough time he'll take us to a better place.

Playing style is great but the players we have our letting it down. Watching Johnson get the goals / assists he has is testament to the system we're playing as I don't rate him at all as a footballer.

I've watched United sack multiple managers at this point and still can't find a manager who can implement his ideas upon the players - Ange had no issues with this.

Our underlying stats and goal difference have been immense since Ange took charge - worth bearing with IMO as again he just needs some top quality players to really make the difference for us. Don't dismiss a manager who can find a system that scores goals - it's one of the hardest things to do in football.

Going back to the squad - We're really suffering with club trained players. At present Ange is bedding in 2/3/4 of these most weeks which will be massive for us in 2/3 years time. He deserves credit for taking that challenge onboard - not hate. I think this shows his character - managers before have put their own standing before that of the wellbeing of the club.

We’ll probably win the first leg 2 1 or something to give us hope and keep him in the job a bit longer before being smashed 4 nil away from home.

Edit: just seen the games are a month apart. Yeah that’s what will happen to keep him in the job another month
I got a feeling we lose the first leg they they drop points in the league and then stop focusing on the the carabao cup

we win the 2nd leg but the damage will already be done in the first leg they still go through

I’d take that all day- at least it’d demonstrate a huge turnaround versus our immediate competitors.
It depends on the context of finishing 7th. Did we go on a charge but it was just too little to late to catch Forest, who never really dipped in form?

That would look a lot better than the alternative of playing better but bottling several chances to overtake Forest or Bournemouth down the stretch.

Similar to how Villa desperately tried to give us 4th last season, but we lost to Fulham and Newcastle, and drew to Spam.

In either of the scenarios outlined, I've seen enough of Ange (and had in November). So we're just splitting hairs over it's enough to retain his replacement for me.

Time value of already building for success for the next season instead of having to do it next. Being able to use that insight to best take advantage of the upcoming windows. Showing competitiveness by not accepting obviously flawed, uncompetitive football.

So you're saying this cannot be done if we won a trophy? 😂

Have good evening sir.

They weren't "inconsistent" outside of those periods. They were abysmally bad.

He's had those 2 periods you say, the 1st 10 games and the easiest consecutive 12 fixtures I can possibly remember and still has fewer points per match than any manager since Ramos.

You are confusing 2 seasons. Last season Ange had a points per game better than anyone bar Poch and the first half season of Conte. This season, so far, he's worse than Ramos but we won't end the season that bad.

We weren't doing good before the injuries.

To start this season the performances were generally very good, the defeats before international breaks and after EL games were really, really annoying I give you that.

Look, I'm not saying things are going well, they aren't. I'm saying I can absolutely see us going on a run of good results and I can also see us winning a EL Cup tie against any team left in it. Ange' football has a high ceiling and a low floor, right now we are on the floor, I don't agree with quitting when you are on the floor, especially because I think we will hit our ceiling again at some point this season.

Slop is a smug prick who would collapse into a gibbering mess if he had to deal with half the shit Ange is going through right now.

The more i think about that duplicitous cunt of a press conference, the more I think about how funny it will be when he finally has to deal with some adversity and it all falls apart.

Everything going downhill in a manager’s second season is quite common actually. That’s why they last around 18 months on average. With or without injuries, this might be what’s happening to him right now. Manager gets “found out” to some degree, players gradually start losing the enthusiasm they initially had for the guy, results get worse and worse, and the accompanying downward spiral eventually leads to sack.

Were the signs already there from last season, or is this just hindsight speaking? It’s debatable, but I’m leaning towards the former.

-1 point out of 15 in that stretch right after the Chelsea match
- 4 consecutive one sided losses against Newcastle, City, Woolwich and Liverpool near the end of the season
-Getting dominated by mid table teams like Chelsea and Fulham
-Winning some matches by the skin of our teeth, against much inferior teams.

Sacking him in the summer on the back of these might have been harsh, but they should have at least raised some concerns about how this season was going to unfold. Instead, it seems like they were fully confident that he would never sink the ship this season, and now they’re stuck with him. League campaign is over, LC might be over in a couple of days, and FA and EL have always been longshots even under best circumstances.

I don’t see anything salvageable from this season at this point. It could have been the case a month or two ago, but now I’m afraid it’s too late. So might as well let him see the season through, while already starting the search for a successor.

He would deal with it with the poise and class of someone tutored in European football surrounded by the best coaches and around the heart of the sport.

Just imagine if you are Ange right now. You took job that has

- very little transfer budget
- culture of underachieving
- sh1t style of play
- ageing squad
- erratic chairman

You (somehow) almost immediately change the way the team plays and get us back in Europe and then 10 of your 25 players (including 4 of your first choice back 5) are unavailable. Even with all this against you , we manage to get to a cup semi , back in Europe and keep to your principals.......and then , just when you think it can't get even worse.....a group of fickle , impatient , unrealistic fans want you to get sacked.

If I was Ange , I'd resign and tell everyone to fk off!!

We have proven time and time again we are not able to prirotise, when? with whom? with Ange? Once again Ange or no Ange I gave you another scenario where we could have another manager, does that mean that we'll have trouble with prioritising?

I literally gave you the example of rotating, you're calling the likes of Maddison and Spence lesser players just tells me your reading comprehension is shite or you don't even know what you're arguing about, what are you doing?

You're thinking about this way too much - you're speaking shit about mentality and players not being favoured - just utter utter bullshit

If you have beef with the original poster take it up with him, I know precisely what he was insinuating because I'm not a petty cunt like you who can deal with literal arguments and can't use any critical thinking whatsoever.

You don't even have an opinion on this, you just want to argue the toss as per usual, boring.

Why is there a desperate need for you to act this thick, you're exhausting.
beef with the original poster? I dont think we've ever interacted (at least not negatively) you pleb.

Your second paragraph makes zero sense and is just a pathetic attempt to change the direction of the discussion and talk about whether or not Spence/Maddison are lesser players.

you keep talking about the use of "critical thinking" and "mental gymnastics" because you're so fucking arrogant you genuinely believe you are able to understand and decipher every post on here. If someone fucking says the league is "irrelevant" so use it to rotate player...I (as well as many others btw) take it as "play the lesser players in the league and focus on the cup as the league doesn't matter".

I focus on literal because that's really all you can do for the most part on an Internet forum. You don't know the people you are interacting with, their personality, way of thinking, way of communicating. I'm not a phycologist like you seem to think you are. I deal with facts and the literal meaning..not perception/belief like you(which is part of the reason why this world is so fucked.)
