They clearly support the man more than the club.
Nailed it!
I think it's stranger than that.
There are definitely proper Spurs fans that are entrenched in this pro-Ange position. They supported Spurs before they ever heard of him and they will continue to Support Spurs after he goes.

I just think they're so anti Levy, so fed up with changes, can't bare the idea of another ex Chelsea manager, etc etc etc, that they're willing to leave a complete and utter fraud in charge because he mumbles some shit about attacking identity.
That and the fact some of them would rather we get relegated than admit they were wrong.
1% of me sympathizes with the former. The latter need to fuck off with that pathetic shit.

And maybe knocked out of the FA Cup too with another two players tweaking their hammys on the Tamworth astroturf!
I can't wait to read the reasoning behind the Ange-In comments if we were to get knocked out of the FA Cup by Tamworth.

At that stage, I mean it, Admin Admin should be on a mass ban mission as there's no way anyone can claim to be a genuine Spurs fan and support that.

I’d be surprised if it hadn’t.

If we win a game or 2 it will swing right back though.

If we lose a couple more games it will turn even further. I don’t see it getting toxic like it did with Conte and Jose but the reality of football is what it is. We need results or Ange will lose the support he has from the fans.

The fact that he still has as much support as he does shows you something though.
Postecoglou's personality captured the imagination of fans and a positive image of him became fixed in their minds. It is not surprising fans who were attracted by his personality look for explanations of the losses that don't attach blame to him. Spurs could finish out of the top ten this year and the next two and people who are fans of "Big Ange" would just blame Levy, the players, the officials, and the media. Firing him is going to be really difficult.

Exactly mate.

Angelos Postecoglou the football manager has some decent ideas but is rigid, naive, and easy to gameplan against. He’s got a hard ceiling on his ideas working.

Big Ange the avuncular “Mate” is something else entirely, and as a politician, he’s unmatched. Big Ange the persona is keeping Postecoglou in the job.

Genuine convinced at this stage, nothing will turn them against him.
If we narrowly escape relegation, they'd still stand by him.

They can blame Levy until they go blue in the face.
But we have been pretty much consistently in the top 6 for 15+ years now.
So to finish in the lower bottom half is on the manager and the manager alone.

And that last paragraph is for fully signed up hater of all things Levy and ENIC.
But the only thing to blame them for here is hiring and now not firing a fraud. One who is damaging the assets and not getting them where they should be.

Wasn’t the personality for me.

It’s the football I’ve seen when we are at our best and the conviction to stick to his guns under pressure.

Winners don’t budge. People give Ange shit for being stubborn about what he believes in but that is a trait that every single elite sports person has. Maybe it doesn’t work at a club like Spurs and we should just accept the underdog mentality of being flexible to finish top 4.

I’ve just seen that road for us before and it’s not really worth giving time to. I can live with the anger of seeing this season out just to know for sure that it won’t work over longer periods because I’ve seen it really work for shorter periods.

I don’t seriously think that it will happen but the tie has ‘banana skin’ written all over it!

If we lost to Tamworth I think sacking him would not be enough. Deportation, public flogging, execution, hard labour, or a stint managing West Ham for 5 years would all be on the table.

It’s not crept in at all. It’s always been true. The game is about money first and foremost.

Players have short careers to earn.

Then after that, if they can go to a club that expects to win as well that’s a big bonus.

Is a player pushing to leave Spurs for Villa or even Newcastle because they finish above us? No chance
To me its clearly crept in.Im talking about incoming transfers from Europe etc. They will go to the villas, newcastles etc if they qualify for europe ahead of us if wages are gen the same. Thats where we lose out

Not one Spurs fan is going to defend Ange if we get knocked out by Tamworth.

Don’t be so dramatic.

Who exactly is the mass injury crisis again? VdV and Romero? and Udogie. And Ben? Vicario, obviously...

As far as I can tell we still have all our attackers save Odobert and Richarlison- Richarlison who barely contributed to last seasons 5th place finish. We're not missing any amazing CMs as far as I can tell either.

Gray and Dragusin have done far better than we expected. More than fine actually. Same for Forster on the whole. I guess it's technically a "crisis" but it's not like the replacements are of such lower quality that it has been clearly losing us games, has it?

I mean, that's bad luck, but it's not Force Majeure type shit.

I guess I just don't agree that Ange is enduring a hopeless injury crisis right now. If anything through necessity we've discovered that Spence, Gray and Dragusin are all pretty darn good defenders.

If you say our defenders aren't good enough to help us attack successfully that's where I start to call BS and say that's not sound football if you're counting on your defenders to create goals and offensive play for you.

It's so bizarre how poor Ange can be in terms of points and how far people will go to rationalize why everything is just temporarily bad and set to get better any day now- in some pretend fantasy world where the return of VdV and Romero and Vicario will somehow lead to us scoring more than 1 goal a game again. I really do marvel at how far folks will allow themselves to be deluded.

We barely had the ability to rotate our defence and attack for a while, especially during the busiest period of the season.

Odobert, Richarlison and Moore would have been used in rotation with our other attackers..... we also had Bentancur missing for a number of games too...

Its not about the warm bodies for the starting 11, its about having the players to rotate and use to keep the other players from being run into the ground and becoming fatigued.

I'm at the stage now where the cult like supporters deserve a 5-0 spanking.
The thing is some people are Ange Fans, not Spurs fans so a 5-0 loss only fucks up Spurs as his band of merry men will just follow him to his next club, I think we need to accept he has till the end of the season and just hope he can win us a Trophy while he is here, be quite ironic if he does being as 2 supposed world class managers failed to win anything here, while we are still in the cups i'm going to keep believing in the big man!

I doubt it would happen, but would genuinely be fascinated to see the fan reaction.

He'll probably get a new 4 year contract and unwavering support (but not money) from Levy.
He should have lost all his supporters after the game against Chelsea at the end of 2023. That game showed that he is an idiot.
There were loads of alarm bells before then. Even in the wins.
2-0 up against Everton and then comprehensively out played. Ended 2-1, should prob have drawn.
4-0 down to Brighton and only made it "respectable" at the death
3-0 up against Bournemouth in the strangest game I think I've seen as they were by far the better side. Went to 3-1 and then 3-2 but 2nd was disallowed.
3-2 Vs Brentford. Shit 1st half, 1-0 down. Booed off. 3 quick fire goals to make it 3-1, then clung on for 3-2
2-2 away to Everton
1-2 loss home to Wolves
3-0 loss to Fulham
And then that run - 4-0 to Newcastle, 3 down Vs Woolwich who took their foot off the gas, 2-0 to Chelsea, 4-2 to Liverpool who were 4 up like Arse,
The only PL THFC manager to lose 4 on the bounce.

He ain't gonna win a trophy and might not even win another game before he eventually goes.

Ange has shown nothing to indicate that he can intelligently manage a squad’s minutes and rotate players. Remember, he had Spence in the shed for months until it was literally forced upon him.
