You’d want to sack a manager that won the EL?
I would.

MUFC were going to pull the trigger on Ten Egg after the horror shows v Coventry, Bretnford, B'mouth, Brighton, Palace etc etc etc. But no. an entertaining but a bit flukey win over the noisy neighbours at Wembley and in front of a huge TV audience, and they extend his contract lol. Only to fire him 3 months later!!

EL: We're joint favourites, massively bigger than 99% of the clubs in it. Winning it would be easier than the FA cup or LC with no City, Chavs, Goons, Barcodes, Dippers.

I'd be over the Moon to win it. It would be fantastic. But with Ange in charge next season? No. Him again for another PL campaign with the likelihood of lower mid table, and dont get me started on the embarrassment of a CL campaign!

When you look at the fan polls, those who want out are in the MINORITY... so it is interesting that you point out who is showing support for the club/fans and who isn't.
There's pretty much zero stock anyone can take in twitter polls let's be honest, on any subject at all from politics to Spurs.

I don't think a majority are Ange out but the majority who are Ange In are probably nothing like a Twitter poll sample.

If you ran the same polls on Spurs Reddit you'd probably get 99% Ange In, if you ran it here it would be more 50-50. I dont think there's any accurate way to run such a poll.

Would be such a Tottenham thing to sack a manager who's just won us our first trophy since 2008 😆

If that happened it's more likely that he'd get backed and sign a new contract.

I think they're just plain burned out, physically. I don't think this system is playable without extremely aggressive substitution and rotation. If you look around the league, most successful managers are using all their subs each game now.
The burnout is obvious.

Ange's style is reminiscent of Klopp's earliest style at Liverpool. It relies on a team of runners that can press like monsters and attack through quick transition/counters.

It's a style that can work wonders in short bursts. But it has been found out by most modern managers and without a actual system/structure to fall back on to try and control games and dictate the tempo (and thus give the players the chance to rest a bit on the field). It just isn't sustainable over a 38 game league campaign. The players will be run into the ground and the quality will falter and injuries follow as a result. Just as we are seeing now.

Ange to me lacks the structure and system to make his vision work at this level. Klopp adapted his football at Liverpool to give his players more structure and control and it paid dividends.

IF Ange wants to survive here he has to do the same.

Iraola works a similar press as Ange, but he has a clear structure that his players fall back on when it doesn't work. For a more recent example. But the question is what the ceiling of a rock and roll pressing team is in today's Premier League. With more and more managers figuring out ways to counteract it.

Ange on BJ and his model:
“He's a real threat in the front third, he's different from what we've already got, he's young and ambitious. It's no secret that's the model for me.

Do you want a manager who's selecting based on age rather than on ability?

How can people be so stupid to still believe this guy will deliver?

But explains why BJ plays over Son and Kulu plays over Madders.

To be honest I'm pretty settled on being Ange out now but if he did win the EL it would make him impossible to sack. It would be the biggest achievement this club has managed in 40 years, and even though I think over a league season it would be disappointing again I just don't think I could see the club doing pulling the trigger. ETH winning a domestic trophy is just another season for United, us winning any trophy at all is like rocking horse shit in the last 30 years.

I mean I think us winning the EL is a total fantasy anyway given our dire performances in pretty much every European game this season but he would have earned his third season if he somehow did it.

oh they are burnt out physically and mentally. theres defo something gone on with maddison, i think thats fairly obvious.

solanke is new and kulu is trying to establish himself centrally and seems to have an elite mentality anyway. i think your standard footballer would of given up on him by now, its playground stuff. if they haven't then i think thats concerning because that would mean they are a bit of an idiot.

the kulu and maddison interviews post liverpool i think tell you what they think, if you read between the lines.

maddison is clearly frustrated with the braindead tactics, kulu alludes to the idiot playing the same side over and over and asking too much of them physically. even asked if its sustainable and he says no loool. i mean it dont take a rocket scientist to work out what they really think of this idiot, they arent going to say it as bluntly tho.

Mate, I don’t really get it tbh.

I want to see us win things. I’d rip your arm off for the EL and winning it would make Ange the best Spurs manager in my 40 years of life.

Utd sacked Ten Hag and things got even worse.
Their issues run much deeper than a manager.

No he’s recruiting young, hungry players without the baggage of years of failure at the club

Long time follower since Postecoglou appointment and first time poster.

I am an Aussie passionate about football and have seen Ange come up the ranks as I once played at the local club he grew up playing and coaching.

I don't consider the celtic 'rebuild' and dominance his greatest achievement. This guy has the ability to go with youth and turn them into a force of reckoning.

In Australia we have salary capped competition thats designed to be even yet he turned an average team into such a dominant force it was beyond ridiculous.

He then took on the National job and said bye bye to our ageing senior players and stuck with youth in the world cup. We lost all three games but we walked away proud seeing our youth take on world class teams and showing they have what it takes to be in the competition. He then led that team to an Asia Cup years later

This guy is special and picks clubs who lack identify and sets them up for long term success. Don't be fixated on the results YET but continue to look at his philosophy which is to attack and score goals. He will happily concede 3 as long as he scores 4. He sets out to win no matter the opposition.

It hasnt the greatest of seasons and there is work to do but he thrives on this. He's creating a culture that doesn't make excuses for injuries/youth/lack of transfers etc.

I personally credit his stubburness because if he wants to change the mindset of the team he needs to be. This is a journey that he sets the challenge for the players. If he changes his playing philosophy then I'd be more worried because hes going for short term gain over long term success.

A few adjustments to the squad and some returns from injuries and I think we'll have a dominate force again.

At the very least, try show support until the very end so the next manager knows he will have the backing and not be sacked when things get tough like the predecessors.
Fuck

They keep spawning

Winning a European Trophy, who has done better?

Ange finishing about 15th but winning a Europa League would not make him a better coach than Pochettino who elevated this club in many ways, steered us through an austerity period getting top 4 constantly and got us to the biggest final in club football.

It would be great and worth keeping him on for, but by this logic Ramos would currently be our best ever coach … it’s the most tunnel vision shite ever. Di Matteo won a CL + FA cup double at Chelsea.
