Any team with half decent fullbacks who can stay in front of our piss poor wingers will cause us trouble, this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone at this point. Just clog the center by throwing everybody in there, let your fullbacks defend 1v1s, be prepared for low crosses, and you figured us out. I'm afraid a ball playing keeper or Romero coming back won't alleviate these issues much.

I don't even know what he can do with these wingers honestly. Maddison at LW as a wide playmaker? Porro at RW? Go with the youngsters? Nothing seems very appealing. Biggest thorn in his side IMO.

Odobert and Moore.

Is that really being figured out though or is it more that we dont have the quality required? We get into great crossing positions but far too often the cross is smashed straight at a defender, i'd still rather be getting into those positions than not.

Really great managers play a system that suits their players' strengths- that's how they can maximize their results at every club they go to regardless of if the players fit a particular system or not.

Ange is not that kind of manager. Other than possibly having the fullbacks sit back a bit more against Liverpool we haven't really seen any evidence of defensive tactical changes. Other than cutback crosses we haven't seen any real evidence of offensive tactics either. Ange is the kind of manager that is only going to play one way, and he'll need the very best specific type of player to support his system because it can only work with certain personnel.

As you might be thinking by now- "is this really a good fit for a club like Tottenham?" And of course the answer is no.

We'll have to let Ange crash the car some more though before the club take away the wheel.

Looks like he's got the rest of season two regardless of results. He's been clever in terms of building up a following and that's going to keep him in after other managers might have been dismissed.

You know when these Celtic fanboys, Aussie fanboys and all those reddit hipsters joined the site telling great stories about how the mythical Ange would blow us away with his insane fifa pro max bielsa low block 4-3-8-6-3 system of aggression maestro wank attacking football, I was apprehensive as to how he would cope in the Premier League and running a somewhat sensitive “everything has to be just right” goldilocks club.

Turns out the people with a bit of sense were right and this fraud is absolute gash and we just had to enjoy 120 minutes of struggle session against a non league team of scaffolders with a decent first team put out and on wednesday we’re going to have to watch us get spanked by Woolwich who are 20+ points above us and we’re closer to being in a relegation battle with Everton.

how much longer do we endure of this? What is the purpose? When was the last time we won 3 points or a string of games? We’re free falling. At this point id put Mason back in charge and focus on the summer.

We’ve regressed so much as a club and the fans are still trying to justify this shit. Iv never seen a bigger set of cuckolded fans in any sports team. Just the acceptance of it all. The amount that still think Ange is doing a good job. The level of standard from the Poch, hell even the Redknapp days to today is insane. Worlds apart from what we was. We’ve genuinely faded into mediocrity and I dont think the fans mind.

It's because he's still in the cups basically. However my betting is that if we get knocked out by Liverpool in the semi, and our league form hasn't picked up, he's a goner. I think the club are all in on the league cup, and his future hinges on that and league results picking up before then.

Woolwich are absolutely beatable at the moment so it would be dissapointing if we get turned over there yet again.

I don't think Levy gives a fook about the cult.He gave him a five year contract so will want to keep him as long as possible which hinges on our league position. Even Poch said some waffle about New Stadium -CL which he exceeded.Europe is where the big bucks flow.

Late flurry of goals hid the awful truth.
That was a terrible football match and we had no answer for 90 minutes against a well organised but untalented side.

Had we needed that OG or even penalties to win that, it would have almost been as pathetic as losing.

It was the usual Angeball vs Organisedball.
Keep trying to get it out wide then whip a low cross in.

The front 3 selection was awful. If you didn't cringe upon hearing that, vs a bunch of blokes who probably have bar fights most weekends, you're very naïve.

We didn't have a fcuking sniff of a decent chance and you should have been able to predict that.

Was the starting 11 good enough? They should have been.
Should the coach have been able to recognise that team selection would struggle?

100%

This is the Ange era. You cannot assume we have enough in our locker for any opponent.

We are taken to the brink vs a 5th tier team. Who may have done us a favor honestly if they’d slipped one in before full time, because they’d have had no choice but to sack him and end this fool’s errand

An odd performance against City or the like doesn’t excuse the terrible state and mentality of the club. Needing to put on Son and Kulu against farm boys is a damning offense to the name and history of this club

Fans still singing his name at games , whilst singing anti Levy songs . I think Levy senses we would see any sacking as him shifting the blame for the 16th time . There are clearly a number of Ange haters on here and there must be some in the ground but they are silent at the moment .

I remain Ange in albeit a bit less enthusiastically

I'd ask anyone to tell me who we played in the 3rd round of the FA Cup and what the score was in 1991.

I'll tell you so you don't have to look it up...

We played away at Blackpool, in Division 4 at that time. We were not great, ending up winning 1-0 from a Paul Stewart goal, but the game was poor with very few chances and we were playing with a full strength team.

Ultimately, it didn't fucking matter because we won, and went on to win it.

We have had a monumental football schedule the last 6 weeks and still have a fuck load of games coming up. We have a load of injuries and whilst absolutely the performance was dogshit, and clearly most of our players were relucatnt to get out of 2nd gear, right now I do not give two shits. I wanted to get through the game with no injuries and win.

Job done.
