if you think the squad is shit fair enough, your perception of it is skewed from it being under the worst manager in football for 18 months. the likes of bissouma, maddison and solanke were hot properties in the league before we got them and now they are duds? no mate, the manager is fucking dog shit. the squad is decent, yes the wide forwards still need major upgrades, but theres a good core of players there with some very exciting young players too. even the new keeper looks exciting.
 
He is playing against top level opposition with just one third choice defender . Manager isn't the problem, it's the injuries and lack of intent to fix this issue asap in the transfer window.

Ange being made the scapegoat
 
We've just drawn over 90 mins against a fucking semi pro side, and then limped to a defeat against our biggest rivals. They should've had 5 tonight. I don't care about injuries or players missing. They're not beyond criticism either, most of them have no fucking professional pride the gutless fucking cunts. But what little he has them doing is fucking terrible. He has to be fired.

Right now I would sack Ange and bring in Dyche as interim until the summer. Actually teach our team to defend and set us up well. See what happens. See if theres any actual improvement tactically and make us solid at the back so we can make a better choice of manager in the summer.

Yes.

That's why I don't consider that window to have "backed" a manager. Whereas in Jan 2022 we got 2 first team players in relatively promptly.

Mind you this was at a time when we had Ndombele, Dele, Lo Celso and others still available to play but not considered worth playing.
