Gold has, to his credit, been openly critical of both Levy and previous managers in the past.

I think that he, like so many others, have just fallen for Ange's persona and charm.

For all of his flaws as a manager, he seems incredibly skilled at cultivating his Big Ange persona.
He's an unbelievable PR man and can spin an excuse to deflect from shortcomings that the media will run with as well as Mourinho. Just a shame about the coaching and management.

Yeah.

As grouchy and unlikeable as Jose can be. He has until just a few years ago always backed it up with on pitch success and a very sharp tactical mind. You don't win as much as he has just by spending a lot of money. You also have to make all that money work.

His pomp and arrogance are in a sense earned.

Ok but it's so out of character for Levy to have a personal pet project manager with unbounded patience.

Maybe he's been kidnapped and replaced with an alien imposter.

think you can thank Jose Mourhino and Conte for that. two world class elite coaches he hired and expected to win. it just resulted in bad performances, negative football and a lot of toxicity.
scrap all that, go for a data approach and have a rebuild with a project manager with an attacking identity, who's happy to be here and work within the clubs ethos

Of course they were but the problem is Ange has the same Arrogance but all his winning was done in Australasia and with a team in Scotland which has failed to win the title once in the last 14 years in a division full of nobodies where Cameron Carter Vickers who was a decent Championship defender is considered a top defender.

Absolutely agree with everyone who is saying where was this time and patience with Poch after challenging in top 3 most seasons and a CL final. Just don't add up.

Poch had had enough, he was mentally shot after the CL final loss. The 5 years of building a top team, being a nearly team, the stadium build, playing home games at Wembley, not having the finances to strengthen the squad........he had nothing left to give and imo was grateful to be sacked

Hard to believe Levy has not pulled the pin on this fiasco, how close to relegation do we need to be B4 he cops on?
After 15 or so managers hired and fired.
From serial winners like Jose and Conte...to up and coming progressives like Pochettino and AVB.....to English PL experience like Redkbapp.....to club legends like Hoddle.....to unqualified journeymen like the geezer from down under.......
He probably realises there's nowhere else to turn.
