I just want to reflect quickly on Petit's words about Spurs:

“They've been losing so many games, they're dropping down the table, they're not far the relegation zone. We're talking about a team that should be playing for the top position in the Premier League."

This is how our bitterest rivals see us- a team that ought to be playing for top position in the league. If we don't see ourselves as being there as well, we may as well just end the club now.

See through the season then make an appropriate decision on him with ample opportunity without any excuses of injuries, lack of depth, playing youth etc.

League cup final a possibility. FA cup, Europa final two games weaker teams. There's still a chance here to win something

Inside the 4 walls they seem to still support postecoglou and their long term plans to change the mindset of the club. We will have to wait and see

The non selection of Maddison - again - is fucking baffling. Whatever people perceive his weaknesses, he is our most productive and creative (in midfield and forward areas) player but also really important when trying to play through pressure - he drops in, can twist and turn and usually makes the best passing decisions. He was on the pitch 45 fucking minutes less than Kulusevski (who played 45 as an 8 as well) and completed 5 more passes than him. Not that he did anything spunktastic but at least he didn't constantly spunk away the ball like Kulusevski did/does.

That said, Kulusevski is more useful that Johnson who's literally got one play in the playbook and it isn't likely to work very well Arse.

The half time subs were just a stupid overreaction and tactically daft. We were only one goal behind, we didn't have to go full twat. Just tweak it. Maddison on for Sarr and keep Bergval as the other 8, would have meant Bergval could do his running thing at the defence, not trying to break out of our defence, and we would have the ability to move the ball through both sides, with two lateral 8's comfortable receiving the ball and able to look forwards and join attacks too.

The next sub should have been Moore - someone that can dribble and take players on and turn them round for Son or Kulusevski. Then Rich for Solanke.

Putting Kukusevski back into midfield and Johnson on the right improved nothing creatively, left Bergval all on his own in midfield and opened the game right up for Woolwich on the counter.

Other shit that is really starting to annoy me is players just not busting their balls to get back into defensive shape, track runners etc when they lose the fucking ball in forward areas. And this is on them but also on Ange who has to coach this as his system exposes defensive transitions as it is.
Completely agree with this and said the same last night when I got home from the game - Ange is too reactive and emotional at times and hooking Biss and Sarr to create a midfield of Ginge, Berg and Mad left us unbalanced. That's without bringing on Johnson who isn't worth a wank outside of the odd tap in. Leave Biss on, play Berg and Mad as 8s and leave the insipid Ginge out wide.

Arse started the time wasting and general shit housery with 20 minutes to go, they're low on confidence and we could've nicked something from this one.

I'd just love it if Ange at least once tried something different to see how it went. He could've with 20 minutes left gone 352 and gone man for man at the back:

Spence
Drag
Gray

PP
Biss
Mad
Berg
Moore

Richy
Dom

2 players who can cross it to two players who can head it, a balanced midfield and a back 3 that can be turned into a 5 without the ball.

I just don't think Ange has this in his locker and I don't think he ever will. Too reactive, emotional and stubborn, these traits will finish him off at Spurs.

Ange made a big mistake by saying the performance wasn’t good enough. He’s been doing this all year and I think it’s going to cost him. Whilst he’s not pointing the finger at any player specifically, the players will be taking offence to this. Kulusevski has come out and said everyone needs to take responsibility from the top to bottom. This sounds like the players feel like they’re getting all the blame and he’s defending them…

Go back to Sir Alex Ferguson, Mourinho at Chelsea, Wenger at Woolwich. They never criticised the performance. In public They always blamed the referee, the ball, the weather, some curse etc but in the dressing room the hairdryer went flying.

The problem is Ange and other managers are to honest. If that was Mourinho or Ferguson, they would have said that the corner that should never have been a corner lost us the game. Also means you get better decisions next time

Yeah, think this will all be over on Monday.

Don't think we're beating Everton.
What concerns me is the board will sleepwalk through anything but a loss continuing to parrot these bullshit claims about supporting the manager and "getting structures in place". I never want Tottenham to lose but I find myself not caring if we do this weekend because it might finally be the nail in the coffin that buries Postecoglou.

The only teams who would be satisfied with being where we are in the table are the promoted sides, West Ham class this as such a disappointing position to be in they have already binned their manager, yet here we are giving a guy who has vastly underperformed with the squad at his disposal this season "full backing" to continue our rapid nosedive down the table.

We haven't even got most of the injured players that people are claiming will transform our season back from injury yet, and with the long layoffs they've all had with this apparently mysterious (nothing to do with the way we play or anything) hamstring epidemic, we'll be looking at late feb-early march before they're back to match fitness and fully integrated. We might not see Udogie in any meaningful way until the back end of the season. If Ange can't win with this team we are too far from safety not to bin him off now and steer the ship right before that becomes an alarmingly real possiblity.

Totally agree. You aren't supposed to dig your colleagues out in public- you do that as privately as possible. Completely indicative of how out of touch he is- never his fault for tactics, setup etc. If his only recourse is to complain we didn't do it his way well enough, well I'm sorry Ange- you're just not a very good coach.

Probably can't believe we sacked his Dad after finishing 4th for the second time in three years, while this joker gets all the time in the world and £300m spent on him
Yea what a weird move that was. We were really clicking under Redknapp.
I think I was in my 6th year of Spurs fandom at that point and a of course younger and less wise- took me a while to figure out what was actually going on during those times. Feels like an opportunity lost. We eventually found Poch though which took away all those nasty what-ifs...

Harry’s constant twerking for the England job didn’t help matters.

He was the architect of his own downfall.

Redknapp junior seems to have conveniently forgotten about that.

I remember him responding positively to interest in the job a few times, but was it really that bad? I don't think I was paying as much attention to the press around the club at that time so just don't have a real idea of how serious it was considered. Was it blatantly disrespectful?

It was bad in some quarters. I remember Flav wanted 'Arry gone as soon as he said it and we felt relief when he left in the end. It was mainly saying we were gonna have a title challenge half way through the season, then signing Ryan Nelsen instead of Mario Mandzukic, getting distracted by the England job that never came, taking his eye off the ball in the league and not realising Chelsea could take the CL place.

Our form at the end of that season was poor. I wanted Levy to sell Arry to England because then all parties would have been happy and we could have ended the season stronger. That isn't dismissing the great work he did before the second half of his final season.

Just saying all good things come to an end and we better not rewrite history entirely.

Careful mate, you don't want to be disparaging the J-league too loudly round here, apparently it's a real breeding ground for tactical masterminds of the game.
:ange-bored:

Is there any evidence of this?

I ask cos I see people building a strawman argument against fans who apparently worship ange, or his previous experience. But never once seen anyone on here do that.

I don't give a fuck about the manager by the way, I'm bored of arguing over crumbs. But I keep seeing people have a go (on here) against a mythical set of fans who say ange is God
