Honestly mate, I'm equally confused by your personal grudge against the manager... You've never met the man and make 5 posts per day about how you see through him and hate him.

I'm giving him no passes for losing 4 of 4 NLDs. I'm making no excuses for our recent run, I'm trying to be as objective as I can but that also means that I'm not having 90% of the narrative driven bollocks that pops up.

AND... most of all, I am sick of the permanent loop we are stuck in with these owners. For me, it's about keeping a laser focus on the people really responsible for making us competitive.

It's not delusional to think that a club like Spurs can compete to win things in this country. There are members on this board old enough to remember when we did win things. Unless we are saying English football is so fixed that we should just accept our place and play our role and be happy with 8-4th every year whilst being bantered about trophies?

losing 3/4 NLD's ..... just sayin

Thinking about this some more, I do think he is gone if we lose on Sunday. Some of us have been saying this every few days for months now, but looking at the league table, if Everton win they go from 17 points to 20. And will be 4 behind us. The current 7 point gap to 16th will suddenly erode to 4 points. I think that crosses the red line for the board.

And also, for the best evidence of what is happening at the club right now, the best source isn't journalists or Ally Gold. It's Ange.

His post match interview on Wednesday told us a lot. They asked him about the cups and the future etc, and he dismissed it and said "no no, I'm not looking past Sunday, we need to win there" I can't remember the exact words but it's not what he said, it's kind of the mood and what he didn't say. I've never heard him be so short term like he was. In the sense of, he basically could have just come out and said 'look there's no point me worrying about the cups, because if I don't win on Sunday I will be out of a job" I think he full expects he will be sacked on Sunday if we lose.

I remember him responding positively to interest in the job a few times, but was it really that bad? I don't think I was paying as much attention to the press around the club at that time so just don't have a real idea of how serious it was considered. Was it blatantly disrespectful?

Nahh, the guy tried to tap up Rogers for a job in the England Setup at the end of a game.

100% disrespectful - he thought he had the job, he took his eye off the ball.

In his own words.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that now-Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers agreed to become his assistant if he was ever offered the England job.

Redknapp was thought to be the front runner to replace Fabio Capello in charge of England last year, but the Football Association opted to offer the job to Roy Hodgson instead of the then-Tottenham Hotspur manager.

The 66-year-old revealed that he had approached Rodgers, who was then in charge of Swansea City, during a match between Spurs and the Swans and that the Northern Irishman had agreed to become his number two.

"My thinking on Brendan was this: if he can do it with players from the lower leagues at Swansea what can he do with Rio [Ferdinand] and [John] Terry or [Wayne] Rooney and [Steven] Gerrard?" Redknapp wrote in his autobiography, which is being serialised by the Daily Mail.

"So when Tottenham played Swansea on April 1, 2012 I pulled Brendan after the game and said that if all the speculation about me and England was true would he consider coming to the European Championships in the summer as my part-time coach? I told him I wanted England to play with as much technical ambition as Swansea. He was up for it.

"Some Tottenham fans might think I was distracted from my club job, but I can assure you the conversation took five minutes. And we beat Swansea 3-1 that day, by the way. It didn't work out. On April 1, I was contemplating the way forward for England with Brendan Rodgers - and on April 29 the FA offered the job to Roy Hodgson."

How can someone claim to not be distracted, and then say he was spending time contemplating a way forward for the England job? Liar!

It is not that they don't press but our press is very poorly coached. So we quite often do not all react to the same trigger to press so we have one or two players press and no one else presses.

Our press was incredible to start the season and has been good in patches like the start of Liverpool in the CC before Bentancur going off changed our shape,

But you can’t press with this many first team players out. Impossible to maintain the energy.

You can level many criticisms at Ange but saying our press is poorly coached is way off.

Fair.

The first one away was actually very encouraging in truth but losing 3 on the bounce?
Just boring. Doubt I’ll bother watching the next one, it’s just a nothing fixture now.

I was just nitpicking lol, sorry - your points are valid.

Agree about the game TBH - the hype is so fabricated now, the players don't give a half fuck bout a 'derby game' from either team.

I get that living local to the club it’s impossible to ignore the game because of those cunts reminding you all the time.

But that’s a very small number of people. For everyone else, that game and the Chelsea games will rapidly start losing people’s attention because they are predictable and boring

Biss played 2 hours vs Tamworth. Im pretty sure the plan was to take him off at Ht and bring Maddison vs tired Woolwich’s legs.

It’s what Ange said he tried to do vs Newcastle. He can’t rotate because of squad availability so he’s trying to plan in-game rotations
You have great faith in Ange and that he will be afforded a lot more time for it all to come right. We’d all like that but it ain’t happening.

He’s out of his depth and promoted way above his station. This is not coming right with Ange, even if he has a full bill of health with the squad.

I think too many people have got too much reputation invested in Postecoglou to fire him. In some ways it would be an admission he never should have been given the job to begin with and they believed in a system of play that is unsound. When Gold reports the team wants to put the right people around Postecoglou, I wouldn't be surprised if at some point they let some portion of his coaches go and keep him and drop most of the medical team.

we just need two more wins in the next few weeks and then we can focus on the cups. People need to chill, could still be a great season in the cups with a signing or two and players returning (no I am not taking the piss!)

I don’t understand how anyone can still defend Ange from a football perspective. Wanting Levy to take the main portion of blame is absolutely correct but look at what’s happening on the pitch.

Ange played a very strong starting XI against a team of semi-pros last week and was one inch away from getting knocked out 1-0 before extra time. His football doesn’t work. Just because we had some little goal flurries in games against knackered or shit opponents doesn’t mean it can work consistently.

Rangers (1), Roma (2), Tamworth (0), Leicester (1) , Coventry (2), Wolves (2), Fulham (1), Bournemouth (0), Forest (0), Palace (0), Ipswich (1). We scored 10 goals across those 10 games against dross (not including ET against Tamworth). TEN! Any competent manager can nullify this brainless football if they can get their players organised and running around.

The goal scoring stats this season are completely distorted by wins against teams like City, United, West Ham and Southampton who literally EVERYONE is pissing on this season because they are so shit.
Could counter and argue that his players are shit (in key positions). Midfield is OK but Son, Werner and Johnson are championship players nowadays and his defence is ravaged

Does Ange coach...I,m being serious
Take the game against the scum 2-1 down brings on Richarlison sticks him out wide - we needed a goal, we needed a plan B - go 2 up top and give the scum something else to think about ... no Ange sticks with the same flawed system and it looked more like they would add a third than a spurs equaliser

Take yourself to the EvANGElist thread please, we don't do that optimism thing in here. :bentancurpoint:
