You'd have to have rocks in your head to come to our club right now in the state we are in, regardless of cash.

Bournemouth are cashed up with Bill Folley so I'd imagine there will be an improvement on Iraola's contract if he gets them into Europa.

Silva is a chance and I personally think either him or Frank would be a better fit for us.
You'd probably have said the same about United, but they had no problem getting Amorim out of Sporting mid season.

I'm not really trying to disparage Brendan Rodgers too much here tbh, with a tiny bit more luck he would've been the first man to win the PL with Liverpool, plus that team scored 101 goals which is no mean feat. Also winning the FA cup and having Leicester competitive for European spots was an achievement in and of itself, they've hardly gone from strength to strength since they parted ways with him. I don't really know why no PL clubs were really interested in him before Celtic got him, or why it seems he is never considered a serious suggestion if he's linked to Spurs, he is a way way better manager than Postecoglou and his teams play good football by and large.

Managers tend to have a decade at the peak of their careers. There are a few exceptions (Ferguson, Guardiola, Ancelotti). Even if Rogers was great 15 years ago, he isn't now. Same as Mourinho etc.

Another red flag. How can we have appointed a manger who basically admits that, my way of playing and training produces injuries?

If we just think about that for a minute, it is absolutely insane that we would find that acceptable. I mean, I’m sure he didn’t admit it during the interview, if he did interview or course. He’s well in with the Base agency and the guy who runs it and from where we seem to buy the majority of our players from. He probably didn’t even need to interview for the job it was all just handed to him. We were desperate again for someone at that point.
True. His friend Scott Munn admitted that it took a massive amount of convincing on his part to get it done.

Of course, he's not going to back down now. I just don't get how Levy could pick a bunch of Aussies to run the football. Probably he needs to find an entire new team if he fires Ange. Seems like a terrible situation. They haven't managed to get anything done in this window either. They are complete clowns. All they signed is a keeper who's been far from convincing at times.

It's not really though. Conte top of Serie A. Poch various good jobs after Spurs. Nuno flying with Forest. It's just Levy's Spurs where everything turns to shit.
I'm struggling to think how many careers we've actually ended?

AVB maybe. Redknapp was getting on a bit. Nobody really seems to have suffered this mystical "career suicide" by coming here. I think it's just Spurs fans being melodramatic because we're having one of those moments.

If memory serves me correctly they all got fired by Levy after not winning anything.

Poch was truly incredible with us, but I thought it was universally recognised by all Spurs fans that he ultimately failed (and when he went he needed to go!) because Levy did not invest any money in the 1st team for 2-3 years, and the squad aged, went very stale, and lost all momentum.

Redknapp could have had a shot at the league in January but Levy bought him Saha and Nelson when we needed reinforcements, and then he shot himself in the foot by chasing the England job and getting accused of taking bungs.

I won't comment on Jol as we were a much smaller club them in terms of revenue and were unable to compete with the 'Sky 4' at the time, and could not have been expected to win anything.
They all got fired for various reasons. What Redknapp and Poch did was give us a bit of hope, good football, seriously competitive sides and made you actually look forward to matches. I dont see that they failed, they did well in spite of our owners but both hit the glass ceiling put there by Levy.

If a trophy is the sole metric then George Graham and Juande Ramos are the best Tottenham managers in 34 years. The only good thing i have to say about either is they were both better than the current clown.

I wonder what the cultists will do and say when he's sacked and we improve?

My bet is that they say "the only reason our form improved is because Ange set us up to achieve"

I genuinely don't know how I've woken up and this fraud is still in charge?? What have we done to deserve this misery porn til the end of the season ffs
If he’s not gone by lunchtime you’d have to think he’ll be at the helm for Leicester.

Yesterday sounded like the first day of real sustained and vicious vitriol against Levy. That usually gets a reaction. Our Daniel is really a precious and gentle soul.

I don't care if it takes 10 more managers to get somewhere. Get Ange out and get the next one in.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. 17 times.

I swear this has been replied to you before mate.

What he said was the intensity required to play this way causes small injuries in the first season then usually the players bodies adapt and the injuries are less the second season. Pretty sure that checks out with injury records at other clubs.

I don’t think it’s Unique to him btw. Iraola plays chaos ball and has 9 injuries even though they have played 9 fewer games already in January.

Intensity wins but it comes with a cost.

Teams can train intensely and play similarly. Players said Poch used to beast them and we played a pressing game (and Conte was hardly known to go easy on players in training). Different playing styles obviously, but both managers didn’t have this many injuries.

Maybe the delay in sacking Ange is moving Munn along too. I suspect that is eleven more difficult. The fact that it hasn’t happened yet tells me that something is complicated behind the scenes. Either we don’t want to pay him off, can’t get who we want for the job or something bigger is happening. Normal levy sacks him a month ago, promises a new manager a transfer window (follows through with that or not) to get him to sign and everyone moves on. Sure he’d get more criticism for sacking another one but people always move on. We’d have more points on the board and probably less injuries if he did swing the axe 6/7 weeks ago.

We will be drowning in "you wanted the rebuild but you couldn't stomach it" stuff.

Also some variations on "see, Spurs don't want trophies, he always wins trophies in season 2" ...as the club sits 15th in the league and falling.

Poch went on to PSG and won a title, then got the gig at Chelsea who actually do want to win titles.
Iraola is clearly a very good coach and still young. He could come to Spurs and do "well" for a few seasons and still have quantifiable evidence he managed to "achieve" something.

Make no mistake, if Ange fluked a league cup win this season, he hasn't "achieved anything"
We're utter fucking horseshit. Teams have been relegated and won a cup. Teams from the Championship have made finals.

Poch had this many injuries at Chelsea last year
