What do you expect any player to say? He's never going to say anything negative and throw the manager under the bus in an interview with Ally Gold.

It amazes me that people actually hold up articles like that as anything other than what they are, PR guff. I bet you'd get a much different answer if you were Porro's or any other players mate and asked him privately.

Also depends on who you ask. Porro might think it's fine, (he's not been injured). VDV might think training is a mess.

I think instead of reading what Spurs players are saying in public interviews, it's better to actually look at the evidence. Spurs are way out in front with hamstring injuries compared to all other PL clubs. That strongly suggests there is a major problem with Ange's work. Especially when you also consider that he admits his training causes issues, and it happened at his previous clubs. Either that, or Spurs have been so unfortunate two seasons running with injuries just coinciding with Ange arriving...hmmmm.

Anyway as far as I am concerned, the injuries aren't the major issue. It's Ange's appalling tactics and management and coaching. Even if we were to put the injuries down to a freak unlucky two seasons running event, he should be sacked for loads of other issues anyway. The whole injuries and who is to blame is just a diversion and distraction.

Have to agree - nothing you see on social media from news outlets is reliable - positive or negative.

I wasn’t banned and now crawling back with my tail between my legs saying “sorry, sir. I won’t do it again I promise. Please let me post on the forum again”.

I just wondered what would motivate you so much to come back after being unceremoniously kicked off?

Uh none of that happened, I had a sin bin, it ended, I posted. I didn't promise anything or apologise to anyone.

If you think you and the others in here are going to escape being held accountable for this season, you're wrong. Whether it is me, doom, john or whoever else doing it, you will be.

Expecting some sort of earth shattering revelation from a player being interviewed club-friendly journalist is like expecting Milesy to suddently turn into Jeremy Paxman in his next postmatch interview with Ange.

That said, I'd subscribe to SpursPlay if they did employ Paxman to interview our managers. I'd pay all the money.

Sin Bin involved being told you were unable to post?
So kinda was a ban wasn’t it really?

So you came back to hold me (and some others?) accountable for us having a bad season?

That’s your motivation to come sniveling back?
If so, really I think you might be barking up the wrong tree here but if it makes like more manageable for you, I can take responsibility for it all right now….

LOL

Exactly -

People need to wake up - football news - both positive and negative is all the same - there is nothing else other than desperation to get click and shares for ad money. That's it. If you think only one side of the information you are getting is 'the truth' and the other side you are getting is 'not the truth' then you have one eye shut.

This stuff is basic journalism of the modern era - print things that trigger people - get clicks + shares = make money.

He's done.

The board are just going to try and hold out till summer rather than appoint an interim. It gives the appearance of not having a managerial merry go round. Nobody we want long term is available and the league season is dead in terms of all realistic goals with us 14 points off 6th place.

The only way he is sacked is if we realistically enter a relegation fight. So if we lost to Leicester at home (this is very unlikely to happen, they are drastically bad) then I think we'd hold panic talks. But imo from now we will tread water and likely see out the season 12th or above.

The league cup doesn't save his job imo - we would still look to hire an Iraola. A domestic cup double does and a Europa league trophy does, but only in the same sense that it got Di Matteo hired or kept Ten Haag in a job. The board would still have the finger on the trigger and doubt his long term capabilities in the league.

But anyway, I did say the Liverpool win was a false dawn. And it was. I can't get excited by any singular win under this coach as we will immediately be back to dismal the next match. 15th place is beyond the depths that even I thought he could sink, and frankly anyone still fighting his corner for any other reason than "wait till summer for available coaches" is an absolute embarrassment.
He’s back!

Its actually hard to be any worse than we currently are. This is quite literally as bad as it could possibly ever get for a big 6 side.

Big 6?

We named a 23 man senior squad for this season.
With 4 GKs!! And when we got through our first 2 choice GKs we decided we needed to sign a 5th goalkeeper. As the other two are a bit crap.

You could not make this shit up.

Big6??? Insulting putting us in with Man City and their squad.
Registered 19 senior outfield players. Which included Max Robson. Whoever he is?? And Sergio reguillon as nobody else wanted him!!

It’s like the club expect no injuries at all!!

We really don’t behave like a Big 6 club right now.

Are managers really on a hiding to nothing here, especially in a way that they aren't in other clubs? Because the way I see it, with few exceptions such as Guardiola and Simeone, any manager is a poor run of form -around 10-12 matches- away from getting the boot. That's why any manager who feels he has the leverage insists on hefty termination clauses during contract negotiations. It's a preparation for an almost inevitable exit in the not-too-distant future. To give two recent and familiar examples, Dyche and Nuno took their respective clubs to unprecedented heights, yet got the sack regardless.

In particular, if Levy has such a notorious reputation in the eyes of many managers like some people claim, then this job should be closer to a free hit than it is to being on a hiding to nothing. Walk in to the job, earn your hefty wages during your tenure, perform to the best of your abilities, get the sack, pocket your payoff, walk away without suffering any reputational repercussions. And, on the slim chance that you obtain great success, enjoy being hailed as this guy who achieved the unachievable . Sounds like a dream to me.

I can see the objection that what I described above is too cost-benefit oriented, and that especially young and upcoming managers would be more idealistic in their thinking. I don't agree though. It's a job after all, you don't pass up this kind of an opportunity unless you have really good reasons to do so.

And by reasons I don't mean staying in clubs that spend nothing compared to us, let their best players go every summer, are run by people who cut corners as much as Levy does etc.

Our squad really doesn't have much less depth than Woolwich. Obviously you can't compare us to City.

We have a more than strong enough squad for being 15th to be an embarrassing level of performance from the manager, go have a look at the players fielded by some teams above us. The Everton team that were 3-0 up in a half against us (managed by david fuckin' moyes) had some absolutely abysmal footballers in it.

Almost impossible to be worse. Really!! We may be 15th in the table, but in the FORM TABLE we are almost rock bottom

We are 19th equal (NINETEENTH) in the form table.

Equal with Saints, who but for a last ditch off the line save at Forest would've got a point and be ahead of us.

Ahead of ONLY LEICESTER. Oooh: look who we're playing on Sunday?

What's the accumulator doing for that one? Vardy to score? He must be looking at our defence and thinking I'm gonna fill my boots against those guys!! If EFC get 3, I could too!!

I would say to Porro or any player that says in an interview that we still love the manager. Words aren't good enough. You can't be so feeble and easily bullied as you were at Goodison. As you were in the majority of games in recent memory, and then turn around and say we're still fully behind him. They have to show it.

So if they don't want the buck to stop with the manager, They do have the power to make sure it doesn't. But they need to have a look at themselves and start proving that they want him to stay by playing like it. Because nice words aren't going to cut it when we're .... 15th.
but asking the players if they love him is stupid as its clearly obvious that they do! just go and check the fan video from after the everton game, kulu and madders clearly love this bloke and dont want him to leave.
