£51m to Conte 😂

Next you'll be claiming he paid a million bajillion to AVB lmao

Conte had 4 months left on his 18 month contract when he was sacked. So unless he was on a £150m a year deal at Spurs I don't think so.

Christ you lot are thick when it comes to contracts. Although perhaps I shouldn't be surprised for a poster incapable of spelling the name "Nuno"

I thought £51 million sounded a lot!

Because women's and youth expenditures are also exempt, no it isn't.

Per the Deloitte figures, our wages declined by ~32M last year, and selling the likes of Royal, Lo Celso and Hojbjerg and bringing in teenagers will have seen that figure decline even further this season as European football reenters the picture.

Whatever the baseline number, a 60M decline is not a reasonable assumption. The gross revenues only went down by 17M.

But we're missing the forest for the trees here.

EVERY OTHER TEAM ON PLANET EARTH IS SPENDING A HIGHER SHARE OF THEIR REVENUE ON PLAYER WAGES THAN SPURS.

You're wrong about how close Spurs are flying to the sun, but it doesn't matter, because cold hard facts are right in our face showing that every peer club is flying closer, mostly a lot closer.

And yeah, the implications of that are that a lot of very paper-rich clubs are pretty skint PSR-wise. Even with the most headroom, our headroom isn't limitless. You can't do a Man City anymore.

But you're jerking yourself off on the notion that Mr. Savvy Internet Man has read the fine print and knows that Daddy Levy is actually forbidden from spending the money that the gammon troglodytes demand.

I regret to inform you that you are instead the middle crying guy in the midwit meme.

You won this and it was pretty fucking bloody hoss.

I hate Levy but not everything is about him. He’s accountable for hiring this completely unqualified person and accountable for keeping him on past any reasonable point, but we’ve spent more than enough to be doing far better, the squad is not the 16th best team in the league even accounting for injuries.

How bad Ange is doing is not about spending. It’s about a stubborn as hell coach who is out of his depth and has gone off the deep end. He has completely failed to adapt to a crisis and the results have spiralled. There is no body of evidence that this is just a fluke and that he can recover it, his CV is a load of nothing for this level.

The defences of Ange are all coming from the same morons (sorry but it’s true) that think managing in Japan or Scotland and being successful in that vacuum is entirely transferable to success in the bloodbath that is the premier league. This is nonsensical. We have seen how badly Ange has failed to deal with the high level of media scrutiny at a top premier league club. The pressure is a different world.
agreed but it pains me to say that if levy leaves this fraud prick in charge for the rest of the season he goes to the top of my shit list

This shit reminds me of watching Leeds under Bielsa. Remember thinking just how stupid and naive that team was - apace everywhere, people caught up the pitch constantly and always at their most fragile when up the pitch. Its happening every single game with Ange and its arrogant to think it will work now. This arrogance will relegate us if it continues.
I am shocked hes still there this morning.
That is the thing are the board , Munn, Lange not seeing this? Are they thinking after 18 mo the he hasn’t changed how open we are regardless of who played that he is gonna get us out of this?

With a fully fit squad we have what? 19 actual outfield players, Fucking abysmal. Filling out your squad with 5 keepers is no strategy for a proper competitive club. The players coming back from injury are as likely as not to break down again. Then what ?

If thats true its crazy especially since the club has spent 350m on 17 players since ange has been here. To many youngsters not enough proven quality and now were paying the price.

You may be right that Ange is stubbornly trying to make a playing system that works in much lower quality leagues happen in a fundamentally different Premier League without the necessary adaptation.

But it feels pretty silly to say he's failed with the media scrutiny, he's got the press eating out of his hand, he's much BETTER at that than his predecessors.

One potential explanation as to why is that where Celtic is nothing like Tottenham in terms of the level of football, it is very comparable in terms of the level of media scrutiny.

This shit reminds me of watching Leeds under Bielsa.
It's funny, I think that both Ange's most dead-end supporters and those who have believed he was a fraud from day one would fully agree that it's a lot like Leeds under Bielsa.

Mate it's why the wage bill looks the way it does all them mates rates keepers. you don't sell Harry Kane and buy Solanke if you respect the club you buy Oshimen you don't sell Hojbjerg and buy Bergvall you get Costa. Levy has completely bent the supporters over.

Antonio Conte - Sacked March 2023

So far, Spurs have spent an eye-watering £51m on pay-offs to failed managers in under 10 years.
Now, Conte is set to add to that figure, with The Mirror reporting he's set to get £4m to cover the final three months that were left on his deal.

Whatever figure it pans out to be, Spurs will definitely be hoping whoever they recruit next season won't hit their back pockets quite so hard as those that have come before them...
You are right on this. I read it wrong and assumed cause he got nearly 30m off of Chelsea. Kudos to you.:sonpoint:
