So what, it’s Ange in if he wins a game and Ange out if he loses?

Makes sense.

:ange-arms2:

I think it's more a sense of acknowledging it's more unlikely he'll be sacked now - not a change in belief that he should (for Ange Outers)

I'm not an Ange Outer in principle but I'm not sure that this result moves the dial that much - if at all. Go out of two cups in next seven days and... well you can imagine.

I'm still more concerned about how the club has been so slow to react to our situation. But that's for a different thread.

If we're stuck with him til summer may as well just pray he can keep us up, he's finessed Frank playing exactly the kind of football he has staunchly refused to turn to to see out results, massively to our detriment, but I think the penny has finally fucking dropped for him. If he goes deep in cups and keeps us up his reputation is (somewhat) intact, you could see him getting work in europe at a second division club for sure. If he takes one of the richest clubs in the world into the championship it doesn't matter how many fucking cups he wins, he will never manage a serious football club again. Just as well retire at that point.

Being rich don’t mean much if you don’t actually use it

The ends justifies the means..... however I don't like it.

I don't like Bergval inviting pressure, then going all the way back to the keeper, then *nearly* losing the ball in a very dangerous position.

Its a tactic with very fine margins and high risk. However, that IS Angeball in a nutshell. Great when it succeeds, coach killing when it doesn't.
That's quite right. And I have one particular issue that stood out for me was at 38th second, when Bentancur having all the time and space in the world he actually jogged forward and took two more touches before passing to Son. If the Brentford players were any good, they wouldn't retreat and jogged back so non-chalantly. The spaces would be closed down, and the worse case being Bentancur losing the ball they would start their counter likely having an extra player over us. I want to see player who is in Bentancur position to be quicker and break faster. We are often too slow in build up, is very frustrating.

Lovely goal, and of course it looks good when it works.

The question remains however as to why we need to go all the way back to the keeper when we're already advancing up the pitch. In the first ten seconds of that clip alone, Spence had made a promising run down the left flank only for Sarr to defer backwards.

Going back to the GK drew them out to press and opened the space we ran into.

Brentford press high then drop into a deep block. The high press is easier for us to break than their deep block.
My favourite part of that goal is Sonny playing PMS through on goal - imo we don't see anywhere near enough play through the middle of the pitch. Not helped by how often we turn over possession with poor passes or positioning.

That's not even Angeball, vast majority of teams play high risk high reward football where their players receive the ball back to goal when pressed.

Yeah, we have to see that progress is being made on the pitch. A trophy is part of that, but I see it as secondary to the goal of having a team that looks like it can defend and control a game when needed.

At the moment we look vulnerable in defence and utterly unable to dictate play in the middle, especially when we go a goal ahead. I'm not taking a scrappy, backfoot win against Brentford (who lost 4/5 at home recently) as a big sign of progress. A draw or win against Liverpool on Thurs though? That would be something to consider.

I rarely ever agree with you about anything except for TV/Entertainment and you're absolutely correct

For all the gushing about a nice goal (which was poorly conceded at the near post through poor goalkeeping btw), not too many people have singled out Bergvall almost giving the ball away in an extremely vulnerable position on the pitch, that would have been 2 points lost rather than 3 points secured...and that particular pass was not crucial to the development of the goal.

Their back up keeper was particularly poor for the Sarr goal in his first EPL start ever in a year at Brentford (he's played more for Iceland than then), he was a bit flappy for the first too as good as the delivery was.

People are now trying to say that this was a scrappy win and showing signs of a Plan B, no it fucking wasn't. We were poor (again) and nicked it this time, great to safeguard our league status but that fact we're even talking about that fact is a disgrace and should see him leave the club regardless of what happens by the end of the season IMO, including any flukey Cup win.

Consistently playing out the season in "top 4 team pace" and a cup win might change my mind from Ange out in the summer (I'm Ange out now, but you have to be realistic, he will be given until this summer) to, give him another season.

Fuck me - the excuses that get rolled out for other teams that would never get made for us by the same posters is astounding.

We’re not going to be relegated now and it has been clear for a while now that he’s limping onto the end of the season. The issue now really has become is he moved on at the end of the season.

this guy made youtube a fucking fortune
its seems every one with a yt channel
made a video with "whats going on at Tottenham"
