I think he will be given to the end of the season. Maybe he deserves it maybe he doesn’t.
But where is the heat for guardiola?
He’s got bitchslappped by 4 or more goals how many times, blew how many big leads and is only missing one player?
( The Rhodri team)
Ange maybe the architect of his own downfall regarding injuring his own players but he is working with one hand behind his back with levy.

OMG could you imagine if Liverpool had VVD injured for a period of time close to what we have had with Romero of VDV?

Daily cry fests everywhere

One interesting thing about defending is that if it is actually done well you won't notice any individual player standing out, because there would barely be any need for Herculean efforts to keep things intact. Forest match around Christmas comes to mind. They entirely shut us down, so much so that their keeper barely had to make a save despite us having majority of the possession. It was the safest 1-0 lead imaginable.Yet it was hard to name any of their players as MOTM, because nobody was spectacular. That should be the gold standard of defending as a team.

This is almost never the case for us. We can barely kill off attacks before they border on dangerous, so it often comes down to individuals making brilliant plays around/inside the box to prevent a major chance/goal. The only times opposition does not get a sniff at goal is when we are playing against teams that are utterly hopeless (Elfsborg, Tamworth). Otherwise our hopes are tied to either them not having their scoring boots on, and/or aforementioned heroics from several players. Gray alone had couple of those in the first half yesterday, while Spence making a goal line clearance himself just before the 2nd goal. Lady luck will smile on you only so much though.

I notice no-one in the media was calling Pep naive and out of his depth yesterday every time they coughed the ball up cheaply and had wide open spaces while the CBs sprinted back to their goal…

It’s almost like when your team and midfield especially is lacking balance you can struggle when trying to play front-foot football.

I accept Ange gets more flak than is necessary sometimes but this is a bit silly. The dude has 6 Premier League titles so has credit in the bank. Ange doesn't.

The only way Ange can shut these people up is by winning something and massively improve our standing in the league.

Oh, I understand why Pep gets a pass. But it was striking how similar the transitions were yesterday. I still think that what Ange is trying to do is not crazy or naive, but it is very hard to accomplish. It’s like an F1 engine. If even a few ball bearings or nuts are out of alignment the whole thing goes up in smoke.

You mean VdV and Konate and whoever is their 3rd choice CB, and Allison, and Robertson, and Salah, and Jota, and a couple of other first team players. For 2 months. Then it’s comparable to us.

Absolutely hilarious and pathetic that

1) you've stored this in your memory bank
2) you bothered to go back and find it, and
3) you think it's some sort of "gotcha", especially given we'd given Genoa an £8.5m option on Spence

No memory banking here - I just read yet another evidence free claim that Ange Postecoglou had somehow "frozen Djed Spence out" when it was my recollection that Postecoglou was, in fact, the reason Djed was given another chance at Spurs when we were about to flog him to Genoa with the blessing of most of our supporters.

I wondered to myself if you were just writing that because you have a obsessive, pathological (one might even say "cult like" :D ) need to shit on the manager even when it flies in the face of objective reality.

So a quick (took 30 seconds) search under your handle and "Spence" and lo and behold there you were not just freezing poor Djed out but flogging him off for a quick buck! Tut tut, Mr Klaus. Thank goodness our manager and Djed decided to go against your wishes and with time and patience not only re-integrate him into the the squad but make him a genuine first 11 star. Possibly the one objectively good thing Postecoglou has achieved this season. :D

Anyway I humbly apologise for quoting your own words back to you. :angesmile2:

Spurs have won 75% of their last 4 matches.

#AngeIn !
Brentford is the first real sign to me as of late that we might be seeing an upturn in form. However, the xG for the match makes me think there is also a very real danger that it could be interpreted as a false dawn.

I don't know what to make of how behind Ange the squad may or may not be right now. It's hard to say until we get more direct information, or some more results with which to try and glean information from. I still look at many of the clubs above us and think how much better we could be performing with them leading the squad rather than Ange.

Folks say we have a young squad. I say we have a top 5 squad. We should be doing better.

WOW.

That brainless clownshoe Klaus has been ended so badly, he should probably just delete his account immediately then go have a good cry.
