Of course he should be sacked - and I've said he'll be gone if we lose this and villa game - but I've now got a funny feeling he's still going to be here next season.

The injuries will be used to defend him.

Baldcunt has got his man and he isn't going to let go.

Yeah me too. Seems now we are scared to sack the manager even though he’s the obvious wrong choice just because we’ve been criticised for sacking too many of them. It’s pure stupidity.

Solanke is a huge miss but the mentality was completely different.

I can stick by a manager with principles if they stick to them but we didn't. He didn't, he set us up to be everything we aren't meant to be now.

Right.
Id like him to be questioned on that. There was no bravery on the ball tonight.
Very negative conte like stuff of just sitting deep and pumping it long, but with a really poor backline Spence aside.

Although I'm sure he'd just say this group are too tired to play that etc etc . Which may be true

We need to stop using injuries and tiredness as the reasons. Adrenaline in sports is so crucial. With the right mentality, adrenaline pushes one to perform over the top. The way I see why we always look so sluggish is deep down players are so insecure with Ange set up (because honestly they are ineffective for most games this season) that the adrenaline is pushing players to the opposite effect of it, escaping.

And these are professional sportsmen, they live to play sports. They have food science and optimum rest to back their schedules. 2 hours max of high intensity every few days is really nothing to have them talk about fatigue. Honestly they have no rights.

As soon as managers start talking about tiredness and injuries players use it as an excuse. Always happens.

He shouldn't have started son and kulu.

Kept kulu on stinking the place out all game.

Left moore on the bench until 80+ mins

Brought porro on instead or bringing moore on and we conceded two goals subsequently.

There was no plan out there on the pitch.

None.
You could replay that game with whatever formation and personnel you want and we would still lose.

We are forever hamstrung by the chairman

Based on his team selection -which I was fine with by the way- and his approach it is clear that he was trying to shithouse his way into the final. Except you don’t figure out how to organize a low block counter team overnight. It’s not simply putting bodies behind the ball in a desperate fashion. Just like organizing a fluid high block attacking team, it’s a skill a manager needs to cultivate over the course of his career. And also a habit that a manager needs to ingrain in his team from early on in his tenure, instead of pouring scorn on it as the morally inferior way of playing the game.

It is what it is. I wish he wasn’t 60 so matches like this could have been easier to digest as part of his learning curve, but he’s way past that point.
Spot on.

The midfield choices made it clear he was trying to low block our way through this match. But he doesn't know how to coach one - it goes against everything he "believes" as a manager, so now he tries to employ one it looks like the garbage we saw today.

Howe showed yesterday how you coach a low block, today was just passive bodies behind the ball and a disorganised press. Nonsense.
