This also stems from the fact that there is no winning culture at the club because of ENIC/Levy.
The bald cunt buys the squad watches for reaching the Champions League final because he just feels privileged to be there once in his 20 year reign.

Was plain to see in the Amazon doc. Conte spelled it out for us (but loser fans will cope by saying he was just being self-serving).

We're a weird club because we became part of the manufactured "big 6" but we're the only one that doesn't prioritise silverware. Woolwich and United are long past their glory years but the fans still demand it and expect to win a trophy every year. We were just happy to be there and now we're not even there.

There was a period in the 80s 90s of huge financial turmoil (Scholar, Sugar, Venables RIP, shares, takeovers, corruption etc) There seemed to be a new drama every week. I think that really screwed us, and left us vulnerable to being preyed upon by a predator like ENIC. Since then we have been like a caged animal, kept and maintained for our yield rather than what we are capable of (given our history and amount of support).

Younger supporters may not know that history but the roots here are deep.

The thing is we actually have a really good young core of players now, it won't actually take much in the transfer market -

Players we need to upgrade on are

Sonny
Richie
Maddison (never fit enough )
Brennan ( I'd keep him as a rotation option but need a better starter)
New LCB
New LWB
Bissouma

If the aim was to seriously challenge for the league we should be aiming for the season after next , this summer window is so important , we need to get the mix of experience right so younger players like Mickey Moore and Bergvail can reach their potential - Things are pretty shit at the minute but If we can get the right manager , we really aren't that far off having a good team - the trouble is if we get it wrong players like Gray and Spence end up wanting to leave to win things.
Not much hope for any new centrebacks if they need to be upgraded before they even come 😂

My genuine “keep me awake for half an hour last night” concern is the damage being done to the confidence and development of our youngsters.
Being thrown in like this is fine when you’re surrounded by seasoned and competent professionals. Ours are all injured or seem unconcerned about results and performances.
If it’s a sink or swim world, being on the end of drubbings like last night is not going to help their confidence.
And what are they actually being coached?
The club is in a mess, top to bottom and it’s worrying

TalkSPORT nailing it this morning.

I think Troy deeney is a prick but he’s nailed it. Says what I have said numerous times. The players have it too nice with the training ground etc. it’s bred complacency.

Loads of teams have nice training grounds now, Liverpool have a fantastic one, even Leicester have a great facility. The training ground is no longer something special. It doesn't breed complacency, and it's no huge advantage either, it's just somewhere they train.

The fact is it is not that difficult to fix.

1. All current directors announce when they are going to step down.
2. Appoint an ex player to the board.
3. Appoint new Club CEO if we can nick Barber from Brighton all the better.
4. Appoint a new manager

Eh? Mourinho got us to a league cup final. Post has got us to a semi final. His cup results last season were abysmal. This season he got us through the easiest EL fixtures you’ll ever see and is probably going out the FA cup having won against Tamworth. His cup results overall are not impressive.

Not sure why Ange should be ‘given’ the cups because of a couple of decent league cup results amidst a diabolical season. Even if Villa pump us he should be given the Europa league to fuck up as well, because we beat teams with the budget of league one teams? Erm..

Mourinho played Orient, Chelsea, Stoke and Brentford to get to that final. Slightly easier run I'd suggest. He also got beaten 3-0 by a team whose manager was in prison to have us thrown out of Europe despite having a 2 goal head start.

And the "fair go" in me STILL believes Mourinho shouldn't have been sacked before the EFL final.

That's what "fair go" means. It's not a rational, cold-eyed objective stance. That part of me remains astonished that Postecoglou wasn't sacked in December. 🤷‍♂️

Edit: Also Conte got dumped out of FA Cup by Middlesborough; EFL Cup by Championship Forest and tamely limped out of CL at the first major hint of quality opponent.

As I said far more accomplished managers with healthier squads. And I didn't want either sacked so, you know, just being consistent I guess. :D

I think the opposite, it's character building. The strong kids will rise up from this, I have no worries about Gray, Bergvall and Moore. There should be no expectations of them, just let them soak up all they go through, good and bad.

Looks to me like the 'older' more established players don't give a fuck.

alot of these older conte buys need to be gone, and the new players need to be of elite quality but thats never gonna happen with Levy so what is there to do.

new manager who can get perform little miracles and have us finishing a solid 6th place and the odd semi final.

Yipee!

One striking thing last night was the lack of communication and awareness on the pitch. Seeing 5 players go after one loose ball (so none of them available for the pass), watching Bentancur almost lose possession as a Liverpool player ran up behind him (is "man on" banned at top level?) and a massive lack of understanding where players need to be on the break.

It just looks like bad / undisciplined coaching.
It is.

Our players are underperforming this season. And some have definitely regressed. But the lack of coherent coaching is a big factor in why.
