I've been thinking the same.

That nucleus of Ledley, Keane, Lennon, Defoe and Dawson. Get them all through their badges and build a boot room.

Dawson is the leader. Yorkshire too; like Billy Nic & Burkinshaw.

Dawson is an absolute fucking moron. He knows who writes his cheque's so won't criticise the club. He's thick as pig shit I am afraid. The exact sort of cliquey ex Spurs players that should be far removed from the club because it's all so cosy for them, and it's just the same old shit they spout in the media. That clown was on Sky Sports against Everton telling everyone with a straight face that Ange is the right man for Spurs. 20 minutes later we are 3 nil down. LOL.

Beggars belief.

I just want some players back so badly so that we can finally do away with the whole, injuries is the reason we are where we are.

I mean, people are still chatting nonsense about we were good before the injuries. It's ridiculous now.

He's loyal.

That's a different thing.

Respecting the person who pays your wages is fair enough.

I don't think Dawson would crawl tbh.

I think Dawson speaks well about the game, is popular among his peers and is young enough to still become a manager.

Not sure why you would call him a moron and say he's thick as pigshit.

Seems very harsh unless I'm missing something.

Dawson seems to have genuine affection for THFC.

he's an utter embarrassment every week. say what you want about spurs and spursy, but we've always been a classy organization that carried itself with a certain level of dignity and class and he betrays that every time he steps in front of a microphone.
Over his head, knows he ought to be sacked, probably resentful Levy hasn't put him out of his misery and sent him home to Oz yet.

Imagine being so shit at your job you were performing worse than any of your predecessors and had screwed your division into an unrecoverable position, but you weren't being sacked yet because they didn't want your replacement to inherit your shit quarterly results and so you still had to go to the weekly meetings and try to explain why you were still doing so shit and how you were going to improve even though everyone, yourself included, knew that once the quarter was up you would be gone.

That's Ange right now.

Because I don't like the way he's been continually defending Ange for so long.

You are right he might be loyal, but doesn't make it right. Sitting there blatantly saying crap just because he's on the clubs payroll. He shouldn't be sitting there pretending he is an impartial pundit.

That's why I respect O'Hara. He's a gobshite, but he calls a spade a spade. He knows Ange is a fraud and tells it like it is.

How can anyone prefer Dawson's approach to O'Hara's if you are a genuine Spurs fan and want the best for the club? We need more pundits out there like O'Hara who tell it like it is, even if their delivery can at times be abrasive..

We had conte and Mourinho as 2 of our 3 most recent managers. Mourinho is way worse. The master of deflecting blame and putting others down.

Ange has failed here but at least has supported his players almost all the time. It’s just untrue to act like we’ve always had classy managers and ange has single handedly brought the bar down.

Ange clearly doesn’t like the British media. There is a pretty active thread on this site about media bias and it’s almost all anti-media posts.
well i disagree across the board. jose was very savvy with the media. he was pro jose but he didn't lose his composure like ange does constantly. he always knew exactly what he was doing like it or not. i also disagree he supports the players as he blames them constantly for not being good enough for his system. further, the british media handles him with kid gloves i've never seen before. they toss him softballs as he stumbles towards being one of the worst managers the league has ever seen. ymmv

I can't stand Simon Jordan and his condescending bullshit.
But he said something yesterday that actually rang true.

All coaches are being hired knowing fully well they'll be fired eventually.
Might be 9 years, might be 9 months. But it will eventually happen.

The only thing keeping me going is that Ange will be sacked imminently.
you hope thats the case. i fear at this point he could be given the season. he should have been sacked months ago at the very worst, the season was still all to play for and it was obvious to even an idiot that he was no good. yet we are here now, season pretty much down the toilet.

our only hope is we lose every league game before the next europa if thats what it takes to get him the sack, we will get a bounce from that and have a genuine chance. i bet if he was sacked tomo the injured players would all of a sudden be fit again.

Whoever we get in to replace Ange, can we all make a gentlepersons agreement to not affix 'ball' after their name, you're welcome.
Big ask.

After having suffered Angegate and then Angexit, it's almost inevitable that the next incarnation will be christened Iraolaball.

Unless some windbag like Jonathan Wilson draws some spurious connections to the styles of LegoMan, Emery and Xabi Alonso and calls it Basqueball.

Death to portmanteau words!

I believe Australians might call him a "bludger" whatever that means..aussie friends? Can you translate?

They're all fully behind him.
Noticed more than ever on social media lately sticking up for him and blaming all our shit on Spurs.
No doubt this prick will go back to an ametuer football league and do "well" and they'll say "See"

I'll get in the ring with Usyk this weekend and get twatted. The weekend after, I'll beat up a 9 year old to prove I can box.

They're like the mother in law. Think they know everything but know fuck all.

They probably only watch football involving Aussies. Which means A-League as there's only ever been about 3 make it in Europes top leagues and no manager at all until this fraud.
So they think by watching pub level football domestically every week, they're "qualified" to comment on PL level football.

I've watched Dr Pimple Pusher a few times. I don't tell you how to treat sick patients Dr Spaniel.
(the mother in law would though)

I went to watch Ledley and Dawson, a couple of years back, doing a Spurs related evening of chat, shirt auctions and Q&A.

Dawson was brilliant.

I obviously love Ledley but without Dawson the evening would not have been as interesting as it turned out to be.

I was impressed with his personality and began to understand why he was seen as such an important member of that team. As a player I can't say I ever thought he was particularly great. He was good but lucky to have played alongside Ledley. A fact he was happy to acknowlege himself, without being asked. Dawson struck me as being a very charismatic, humble, honest and positive person who loved playing for Spurs and was greatful for the hand he had been dealt. I understood after that evening why the other players, who played in that team, loved him so much. He spoke with genuine affection and admiration for that group. I left thinking he was top bloke to be honest.

A real Spurs man.

If he considered a role in coaching I think Dawson could be a success.

He is a people person.

It was your remarks about him being thick that I struggled to comprehend. I thought the opposite.

I found him to be articulate and passionate about THFC.

I'll be coming to her for a second opinion...

Both JD on Sunday and Azza here speaking complete sense about us and how we play. Yet we have a coaching staff that seem to be producing this dross on the pitch every week alongside the manager. I’d be happier if we got these guys involved in the club at some level. They seem to know what it takes. (Ignore the red herring headline)

Lennon summing us up perfectly. Exactly what most of us have been saying here about Ange’s approach to games. It is good that he identifies these deficiencies, with examples, that highlight weaknesses that should not be happening, if we were coached to do the basics. This applies-injuries or no injuries. Nice hearing it come from an ex-Spurs pro rather than some random No-Mark. TBH, I think he was holding back as well.
