Son from Johnson's cross too....
Sarr's header and wayward shot
Tel had a great chance and with better feet would have at least hit the target.

we also had a couple of decent attempts from set pieces/

ended the game with one less shot than them but one more shot on target.

Yes it was return to losing ways and 100% not advocating for Ange to stay but it was definitely a game of two halves and i feel we deserved a draw.

Odobert and Tel probably should have scored from the same Porro cross as well

Yeah, I get it - the result and first-half performance in the context of the whole season was very disappointing.

But if one can just view it as - and one is allowed to view it and discuss it as - a standalone game - it was a classic game of two halves - the kind that happens week in and out.

We were completely dominant in the second half - limited them to 1 chance in the box - and its not as if city were just happy to sit back and soak up the pressure.

I get it, I’m the worst loser in the world. I fucking hate it. But we have this environment of irrational hatred and oversold negativity about every thing aside from the current latest trend of what the herd likes.

We struggled with one of the best teams in the world. That team happens be struggling with consistency in the middle of a very expensive rebuild but when they are at it, they can still smash Newcastle at St James Park. There is no shame and embarrassment in playing teenagers and struggling with them.

I don’t give a fuck what these bitches on here say, the way we dominated them second half with such a young squad was very encouraging to me.

Agree - there were a lot of encouraging factors last night - and our defensive performance in the second half was one of them.

And how many do we we create Ana miss in games? How many tight games where we created many chances and didn’t execute? Heaps!

So his fault when players don’t follow his plan in the first half and press, but players to thank in the second half when try do press? O mean fair fucking dinkum mate!
we cant defend for shit and that's down to the set up, lack of coaching, self inflicted injuries, strange substitutions and shit rotation from the manager. Ange is completely out of his depth managing in England. He shouldn't have been appointed in the first place and needs sacking now

We have had so many games like this under Ange. Two halves. Why can we not do it the whole game? Depleted, half fit, fully fit... it doesn't matter. The lack of consistency under this guy drives me mental. We have games where we've been dominant for 20-odd minutes then slumped. Games where we look like shite then turn it on (and still lose - see last night). And the very odd game where we look like world-beaters. The results speak for themslves. I just don't see Ange as properly capable at this level.

Under Ange we constantly just leave ourselves so open. It's by pure luck if we stay in a game and somehow manage to capitalise and win. It's not sustainable football. The results back this up indisputably. We've seen it for nearly two seasons now, how can anyone genuinely disagree with that observation?

Ange is just constantly blagging it. He tells so many lies now to try and spin everything, that he contradicts himself on an almost daily basis. Just more evidence of an absolute fraud out of his depth.

He's lowered the level of this fanbase to the toilet, where many just shrug and go oh well when we lose another game.

Two or Three months ago it was "Oh well we can focus on the cups", now we are out of those cups it's "oh let's focus on Europe" it's just deluded bollocks.

The injuries have largely cleared up and we are still hopeless. There has been absolutely no improvement, in fact we've gotten so much worse the longer he has been here.

I just can't believe the club has pinned it's hope's and future on this absolute bluffer. Sick of tired of all the shite he spouts post game after another defeat.

It's got so bad for me in terms of support, that I literally have no excitement when a game comes along, and when we lose I feel nothing. And it's been like that for months. And we are hard core supporters let's be honest. We spend most of our day talking about the club. Shocking state of affairs.

And, what made the difference between the two halves? Please don't tell me that there were specific remarks and instructions from the fat fraud because I won't believe you.

The inconsistency is very frustrating and I’m not even here defending Ange tbh.

But that’s where the obsessive negativity is getting too much. We don’t even need to talk about Ange, we are talking about that game. We have a young squad that is being built for a specific style of football. Regardless of the manager in charge.

Obviously young players will be inconsistent at times. There’s no need to doom monger everything about the game and the team in general just because you are married to your position on the manager…We can see the positives of that second half without it being a threat to people’s entrenched negativity for the coaching.

I think it’s really just because people overrate the impact of the manager in general and want something easy to blame.

Just checking... 14 losses in 27 league games.

OK.

Next excuse.
This is it. Its not specifically about last night, it played out like many games over the last 13 months, slow start massively open at the back, should have been 3 down before a recovery of sorts. Occasionaly we come back, quite often we dont.

Its about a continuation of a huge number of defeats, a continuation of not beating the better sides (1 win from 12 games against the current top 9), its about winning 1 home league game out of our last 9.

It should be unnaceptable but clearly it isnt for a few, which sadly seems to include our board. We're 20 months into this 'project' now and we should really be making strides, seeing real improvement wheras its been the same mediocre to poor shite for over a year now. With injuries without it doesnt make much difference.

He's likely here until the the end of the season unfortunately, then he'll likely be sacked but doesnt mean you have to be happy with the situation. 3 more months of this, bloody hell.
