The cup games were everything...until we were out, now they're purged from the record. Each league victory is a truimph, each defeat doesnt matter as its all about Europa....until we're knocked out when climbing to 12th or therabouts will be signs of huge improvement etc etc.

Mate .. don't.

Remember when we had that amazing "run" at the start of the season. The one where we played a bunch of EL games and Coventry and people were like "brennan has scored in 8 games in a row" and "we've won 5 in a row" because they counted those matches too??

Now it flips - cup games are an irrelevance. Only beating solidly mid-table teams in the league matters, even though 5 seconds ago cup games were the holy grail.

Sir Archibald Crooks Sir Archibald Crooks Is spot on. Right now the cultist narrative has shifted to EL is everything. That is until we got a couple of league wins and then those were the proof of progress.

Spot on. It's just so obvious and predictable.

The cups were the only thing keeping Ange in a job, our season hinged on it, and we went out of 2 in as many days. Now they never mattered. It's the same with the Europa. We had people saying Ange could win the league cup, it was deluded. Just like it's deluded to think a team managed by Ange will be good enough to win the Europa. We are simply an appalling side under him and will never win anything.

It's been the injuries. Now it's players are lacking fitness. Now it's Solanke, Romero and VDV are still out, that's why we are losing games. Then it will be those three are still rusty. Then if we finally get our strongest 11 playing, it'll be something else. Until the injuries start up again and then it'll be back to that as an excuse.

All the while the Ange is the blameless victim of poor circumstances, not the protagonist or the architect of it all.

It's just pathetic. We need to sack the useless fucker so we and the club and finally move on and put this awful experiment behind us.

I just can't face his bullshit in front of the camera, always spinning a yarn about why we lose another game. Why we are so hard done by. Overexaggerating the shit performances, calling them things like relentless, talking to fans like we were all born yesterday. Ange is the person who promises a tomorrow that never comes. It's all just bollocks to deflect from himself. to buy him more time. The funny / sad thing is he's been doing it since November 2023 basically, and he's still here doing it.

Any great striker will find space away from defenders.

It’s a bit of a shit tweet though.
The problem is Danso playing in left midfield 10 seconds before that screenshot. Nowhere near his CB partner.

He sprints back ball watches and just ignores haaland.

So my question would be is Danso actually blind?

Yeah no that's a lie. Spurs had 5 players back. 4 of the 5 get ball watching while Haaland runs right behind them and in front of Udogie (edited) for the tap in.

but nice try!

its bizarre
there are still eejits out there who think it'll all be fine as soon as everyone returns from injury
think he's great

it's a cult. like trying to talk with flat earthers or climate change deniers
I've stopped interaction with those people entirely. Most of those people are not genuine and don't care about the club. My hope is that Levy along with these eeijits is indulging in full magic thinking with the second season spell. So as long as we are in the Europa he will keep the fraud but has zero intentions of keeping him on in his job next season.

Werner on

That’s the sackable item 1.

Talking shite about assists ?! That’s sackable item 2
Actually, I'm down with the assist thing. It's utter bollocks that these are assists for Carrol and Vertonghen

And this sort of thing happens all over the place. I prefer the goal scoring opportunity stat as a) it shows they actually did something creative, and b) it doesn't count against them of the recipient of the ball slices it into row z.

Interestingly, as I was in the car on the 3rd leg of my commute home from the game last night, I was listening to Talksport and an Arse fan phoned in. By all accounts he does this regularly. He was very much Arteta out.
What was interesting is that he said there's a large portion of Arse fans who love and adore him and called them a cult that are holding the team back. He said they were effectively happy with the top 4 cup by supporting him.

All sounded eerily familiar.

Spence....yeah not taking folk seriously who can't tell our own players apart.
TBF, my eyesight is such that without glasses in the stadium I often confuse players. Used to struggle as much with Dier, Kane, Vertonghen being 6+ ft white chaps with fair hair as I do with any black players.
My eyesight is fine apart from long distance and when players are at the other end of the stadium I'm looking at height and hair colour at best :roflmao:

He's levy in manager form in this regard

Always jam tomorrow

Loads of corporate buzz words for the children to lap up , but never any tangible outcome or accountability

I think you're underestimating the surge up the table that was 16th to 13th. With some players back we might get above Crystal Palace. COYS

Same old stuff this. How open and as a result how easy to play through we are is amusing more than anything else at this stage.

Any team that'll take its chances at a reasonable rate, which hasn't been the case with the teams we played recently, will knock this team out of EL. You don't get away with stuff like this at this level infinitely.

Porro just does not give AF about defending. His distance from his mark in this photos is pathetic.

Another player that Ange has done absolutely nothing to improve defensively. The more I think about it, the more disappointed I am that Ange benched Spence to play him instead. Piss poor choice.

Look at it another way.

While we were all being told that Spence had a bad attitude and that Daniel Farke didn't rate him, as well as Warnock, we were happily accepting Porro's defensive shortcomings because he scored the odd worldy and got the occasional assist from a corner, cross or free kick.

Spence has been played at left back rather than right back; until Udogie was fit.

All the while Porro was 'tired' and 'needed a rest' after the Tamworth winger pulled his pants down.

Despite this 'need for a rest'; Ange refuses to give Spence a game at right back, against a top team, but prefers Porro.

This is looking more and more as though if Porro is fit; Porro has to play.

Did you know that Levy ripped up the Marcus Edwards sell on clause when Spurs signed Porro from Sporting?

Makes you wonder what else we agreed to.

we cant defend for shit and that's down to the set up, lack of coaching, self inflicted injuries, strange substitutions and shit rotation from the manager. Ange is completely out of his depth managing in England. He shouldn't have been appointed in the first place and needs sacking now

One of the best narratives going for sure.

Smart Pragmatic Howe - 38 goals allowed in PL
Crazy Ange - 39 goals allowed in PL
Smart Pragmatic Emery - 45 goals allowed in the PL

I guess we've just been really lucky.

Guaranteeing playing time in contracts is something we should do very sparingly, if at all, and certainly not for a player like Porro. I'm even disappointed thinking we may have done it for Gray.

Ange has his favorites, and that's fine- as a grown man, he can live or die by his own choices.

I think Porro can still be a very good FB, but he needs a better coach that can help him focus on DEFENSE. Ange just is not that coach.
