It's just simple for me. It falls to the manager. The manager is Postecoglou. He has been at the club fir coming up to 21 months.

It may take 6 months, possibly 9 to instill a style of play and mentality. Not more.

Losing to Liverpool with a squad that was on its knees was always going to happen. Playing Villa 3 days later was clearly going to be an ask too far.

But the start of this season, 8 day's of rest, with platitudes about great chance and important to do well in the Europa, and against an average Dutch side, and that garbage of last night.

Nothing about this team under this manager fills me with an ounce of confidence and yesterday, I was once again proved right.

The only test in every walk of life is being consistently good

Ww are currentky horrendous, abd that's on the manager more than anyone else.

I'd say it falls to both the manager and Levy/Enic. I don't want Levy getting a free pass.

But the immediate and easiest change to make is the manager, so that needs to happen.

Levy and co still ultimately need to fuck off, mind.

Fuck off and never describe my club with that adjective EVER again.

The Absolute Goat ; get out of my club .

Got that . Good .

Now Fuck Off and do something else with your time and energy.

To reiterate; THIS CLUB IS NOT , AND HAS NEVER BEEN AND WILL NEVER BE “ EMBARRASSING “ .

You’re a fucking fraud “ supporter” :
just fuck off “ Not sure how much more I can take of this embarrassing club tbh “ as you stated in your post .

TLDR: No real supporter would EVER
write something like that ; Fuck You and anyone else on here that thinks like you .
How's the hangover today you silly cunt lol

I've been behind Ange up to now but I've been turned by our latest games and in particular last nights debacle. The things that kept me pro Ange were the way we played football at the start of last season as I believed if we could replicate with fit again players we could beat anyone, and secondly I just couldn't see for the life of me who I would want as a replacement? It's not like Pep or Ancelotti or Enrique are available. Some were talking about Iraola because they are doing OK at the moment but really is he that good or has he lucked in on a good group of players? Look at United bringing in Amorim. He was meant to be a genius who would turn them around. No my friends there is no easy solution and sooner or later the board are going to have to stick with one manager through good and bad times.
Welcome. You've been loyal, but seen the light.

It's not good is it . I think the fact that we had 8 days to prepare for this game speaks volumes about the training and the management . We can't keep on losing key games even if it's half way through a tie . There was No desire and No commitment from the players . We have absolutely no chance of winning this competition even if we win the return leg it won't address the shortcomings of the players . The only players that came out with any credit last night was Vicario , Gray , Bergvall and Spence . The rest were just sleepwalking through the game . This football reminds me of the time we got relegated . Something's got to happen to stop the rot that's growing in the squad and the club . It wouldn't surprise me if a lot of supporters didn't renew their season ticket , I'm seriously thinking of not renewing mine .
I have never seen so many tickets available to a One+ member as for the AZ game next week FWIW

Well positivity is not for everyone brother.

When you step out of the darkness and into the warmth of Ange’s bosom we will welcome you back into the light of our thread of hope!!

Stay strong!! These times are sent to test us.
Core Belief 1 in The Way of Ange teaches us that.

Unyielding Conviction:
Much like Postecoglou’s undeterred belief in his football strategies, the Way of Ange emphasizes unwavering faith in one’s personal beliefs, even amidst challenges
2 games without a goal when we've nearly all our attacking options available has made me realise its just never getting better under him. We take crazy risks in every game but still don't look like scoring. Doesn't add up. Balance is all wrong and we can't blame injuries or fatigue anymore.

Have to call a spade a spade. Its not about taking sides and being right. All the evidence is there now and he's ran out of excuses.

Trust me I'll be as positive as I can be whenever I get the chance, but right now there is little to be positive about and clutching at straws to just wind up certain posters isn't the solution and makes us as bad as them if not worse.

last year I get it, 5th place. Good. This year? Was an absolute waste of time for everyone in this club. From fans to players. After the final whistle of the last league game as to be fired.
It would have been harsh sacking him after finishing 5th although given where we were after beating Villa we really should have got 4th. But you could see the direction of travel. Said at the time both Hoddle and Ramos had terrible ends to a season and it just carried on into the next season. At least both of those were gone by October. Potecoglou needed a good start to the season with a fairly comfortable set of fixtures and we didnt get it. Ipswich at home was the time to sack him, it was obvious at that stage he wasnt of the required quality. But we limped on. How he survived after the Everton/Leicester games is total negligence.

As a fanbase I feel like we are letting the players off way too lightly. I accept that Ange has to take a large portion of blame but these players are taking the piss. You cannot convince me that the players put a proper shift in yesterday. As professionals they need to be held accountable too...

YES.
They absolutely have to be held accountable.

By manager. Who is making decisions.
How the FUCK did he think that starting with Johnson on RW and Tel up top is a great idea, I will never know.

Ange is talking about changing culture and whatnot. But when you see games like yesterday, it is blatantly clear - he is building a big comfort zone for players to play like shit game after game with ZERO consequences. Johnson could as well just go to beer-line inside the stadium from 5th to 40th minute. Doesn't matter. Ange loves him, Ange still starts him. It is all guaranteed. He is one of "Ange's boys".

HE has to be one holding such performances accountable.

He is what is called in business-speak an "affiliative leader" . In fact he's a pretty textbook one. And under such leaders things classically start well but quickly deteriorate and never recover.

Really? That’s a thing?

I’m pretty read up on coaching styles but he doesn’t fit the classic “athlete led” coaching style from what I’ve seen.

But I haven’t read as much on leadership styles so will do some digging on that. I like that type of shit.

I think it’s impossible to know what his leadership or coaching style is from media appearances though. I haven’t read the book on him either so it’s pretty much guesswork on that.

Managers with the most premier league titles.

1. Ferguson - came from backwater Scottish league.
2. Pep - from Barcelona.
3. Mourinho - from the Portuguese league
4. Wenger - from Japanese league.

Looks like Anges past is fine. If he’s not up for it, it’s not because of his pathway.
Fergie was a decent player and the Scottish league was stronger back then. Different era too.

Pep was a beautiful player, a natural born coach.

Mou was at Porto, a team that's won European comps and produced tons of great players over the years. The Portuguese league is way better than Japan or the SPL.

Wenger was a player and had managed Monaco brilliantly. His Nagoya contract was just a money-maker, he was always gonna get hired by a big European club.

Ange doesn't have their past, nor will he ever have their future. Cause he's shockingly shit. Danny boy's experiment os one of the biggest fails ever.

These unacceptable performances and results are becoming the norm. We've lost so many games that the team have clearly lost all confidence and will never play good again under Ange. He's 100% done.

I didn't think I'd be saying this but I'd be very open to the idea of sacking Ange now and letting Mason finish out the season.
Bournemouth are going to low block and counter us at the weekend and they'll pick us apart. It's become way to predictable.

We will have all the ball but a front 3 of Son, Tel and Brennan who just stand still and offer no threat. Bournemouth will wait for our 2 full backs to get way too high up the pitch. Then bang they'll press us, turn us over and quickly have a 3v3 or 3v2 with oceans of space! Rinse repeat. Ange can't see it. Our football style is all risk and no reward! He's been found out and needs to just be sacked

Welcome to the dark side, mate.

I was telling you same things months ago, at the time when the season could still have been saved. At least by new year we could have had manager that actually like... does work with players and tries to find most suitable set-up. Who does some in-game management when something does not work etc.

Obviously one cannot hold longer optimism against you, just pointing out that I was over this tipping point while ago, noticing all those things back then. Unfortunately everyone see right through him. Opposite managers, our own players and opposite players too. I do admit, he did try some tweaks between start of year and yesterday, but he is still jogging behind the cart, not in front of it, pulling it forward.

I’m struggling to care about the second leg now, what yesterday showed is we will crumble in the away ties regardless. I can see us squeaking through next Thursday, getting a narrow win in the QF home leg and then absolutely falling apart in the second because when it gets tough there is zero leadership or tactical plan.

Season can’t end quick enough
I think the second game is a foregone conclusion. This team and manager have a weak mentality and will go out with a whimper.

I think he's been completely shocked by the tactical level of detail within the premier league. Even the details team put into set pieces completely threw him last year! We never adopted to set pieces at all last year and needed a full Summer pre-season to get up to speed with other teams in the league.

Now teams just sit on us and wait for our two full backs to be out of position before jumping on us. This has been a key trend in all our games this season yet we keep walking into the same traps every week. I like his style and the idea of the full backs joining the attack, but they need to move the ball fast as soon as they are out of position and hurt teams. Not just have everyone out of position and then moving the ball slow and sideways. Basically all risk and no reward. We end up with just the 2 centre backs behind the ball and all other 8 outfield players up the pitch standing still. We never look like scoring in this shape and then all it takes is one misplaced pass for the other team to immediately have a 2v2 or a 3v2 in oceans of space.

Every team is happy to let us have the ball. We probably average 70% possession a game but its only because there is a clear blue print to beating us. The only way this style works is if we are aggressive and direct as soon as we get the ball and find our full backs in space getting in behind. Once you make that sideways pass the attack is over and all of a sudden your whole shape is gone and the other team are just waiting for you to make a mistake in possession. There was a great example yesterday in the first half where we broke on them quickly and had 3v3, Tell turned around and passed it back, all of a sudden we are back to the 2 centre backs passing it sideways and everyone else up the pitch standing still. No danger, no ideas but one misplaced pass and they are in!

Knew you wouldn't be able to resist rushing to Wenger's defense there.

I'm sure you are expert in the history of J League teams when Wenger and Ange took over. I'm pretty sure I remember reading that Ange guided Yokohama to their first J league title in 15 years and they were relegation scrappers when he took over.

Unless I'm mistaken Nagoya Grampus were owned by Toyota and splashing the cash to win things. They had Gary Lineker of all people there the season before Wenger and had Dragan Stojkovic under Wenger. His legacy was mixed there by the time he left and Stojkovic actually surpassed his achievements as manager later.
Who gives a real fuck what happened with Wenger at Nagoya? He went there for the money and was always gonna be a short deal. As much as I hate the man, he was an unreal manager and that showed at the cunts down the road.

Ange could live til 268yo, he'd never achieve 10% of what Wenger did.
