Postecoglou's comments about not using Romero and VDV because of it just confirms in my mind he has already been reassured he's returning next season.
Close to no chance. He's clearly lost the last of his support, players arent listening, toxic amongst the fans, season ticket renewals bound to be sluggish. Think he'd have to at least get to the final of the Europa and win 7 or 8 of our remaining league games to even have a sniff. Neither of those things are happening. More likely to end up 15th or 16th.

The way he speaks is meant to confuse. Ineffective communication. Simple things but he keeps flaunting his vocabulary. Most of the time he just doesn't make sense.
Yup.

Poch, for comparisons sake, could also be confusing. But he was not a native English speaker and a bit of a mentalist. His talk about lemons and cows and all that.

Ange is actively looking to confuse and deflect.

Yep that ship has not only sailed, it's hit an iceberg and is currently plummeting towards the bottom of the Atlantic.

How much bunce we talking?

Maybe just a little, I’ll give you that - as you know, hyperbole is exaggeration for effect …

I do however believe that this episode will be much harder to bounce back from than the usual fiasco because recruitment is inevitably tarnished by the circus that is going on. Which decent players would seriously consider joining us as part of a sensible career development path? Apparently we don’t coach players, we play them out of position, and we don’t have any obvious tactics to speak of.

And what’s more, if you are a spurs fan in 2025, then I’m sure you go to work and socialise with fans of other teams. There’s only one thing worse than have the piss taken out of you by your colleagues for a defeat, and that’s when they stop taking the piss because it’s become old hat and they’re actually secretly starting to feel a little sorry for the state of your team.

If anyone thinks a new face in the dug out is going to have us challenging for honours then I have to say that I admire their optimism.

Eh we still play in the PL and still can pay good wages (compared to all but what, 10 teams in the world?). I know people think we're cheap, and certainly compared to Man City, Man U, etc we can be. But on the global scale, we are not. People said this stuff after the Mourinho, Nuno fiasco and we went out and hired the best coach on the market in Antonio Conte. We've very recently signed top youngsters who surely had other options. Aston Villa took Emery mid season from Villarreal because PL and money.

Players aren't as sensible as you think. PL and Money will get 90% of players. Mainly the latter, hence Saudi Arabia.

Under previous managers you'd be wincing every morning after a string of bad results as you expected the sacking. By our normal standards he should've gone months ago. Now expectations are so low that we just accept mediocrity.

Something that is difficult for me to gauge here in America is what the level of Postecoglou's support is among fans. Just judging off what I read on the internet it still looks like he has a lot of backing. What's your impression from interacting with other Spurs fans?

I stopped going a few years back but still know people that go and some that dont. Most of them arent rabble rousers demanding sackings every 5 minutes but i dont know 1 that doesnt want him gone either now or end of the season. Problem is the overiding feeling just seems to be complete indifference. Long time fans have just been worn down.

That's what I read too. He's sort of preparing everyone that exiting Europa is possible, but he will would wanna achieve as high as possible the league standing. He's just stating the fucking obvious.

if we got out he'll likely say there's still a good chunk of the season left, the table is tight and we believe we can still do something etc etc.

we'd have to probably win 9 out of 11 games which would give us 60 points and probably 7th. but i cant see us winning more than 4 or 5 at best

so this is kind of fun. read david brent quotes in ange's voice

"I don’t give shitty jobs mate. If a good man comes to me and says, “thank you, Ange, for the opportunity and continued support in the football-related arena, but I’ve done that, I want to better myself, I want to move on,” then I can make that dream come true, too, a.k.a. for you."

"My world does not end with these four walls mate. Tottenham's a big place, and when I’m finished with Spurs, there’s Reading, Aldershot, Bracknell, you know, I’ve got Didcot, Yateley. Winnersh. Taplow, you know? Because I am my own boss, I can – Burfield – I can wake up one morning and go, “Oh, I don’t feel like working today, can I just stay in bed?”

"But, uh, you know, I suppose I’ve created an atmosphere where I am a friend first and a boss second. Probably an entertainer third."

:ange-bored:

The way the UEL draw is and the type of teams remaining, it is a HISTORICAL chance for us to win it if this fraud is replaced with a real interim manager until the end of the season. Get Harry, Benitez, etc.

Remember Di Matteo at chelsea in 2012 when he replaced AVB? How did that interim manger work? I am sure some chelsea fans were begging for more time for AVB, and most wanted him out. We are in a similar situation. Get a caretaker until the end of season. This guy we have now has no clue and is selling us air.

hmmm im not sure about that.

hes not once spoken about tactics or anything to do with football, its all generic waffle that a con man would say. compare that to slot who actually talks about tactics and situations.

hes got a catalogue of quotes that make him look like a complete moron too.

postecoglou is not a football person at any level. its an eye opener to how far conmen can get really. but they only con the true idiots, levy ticks that box.

should have been sacked after chelsea 9 men. that was the worst piece of football management ive ever seen at any level. that showed you what he is.
I don't think he's a good football manager. But I don't think he's actually aware of that or trying to con anyone.
That in in of itself takes a level of talent I doubt he has.

I've been behind Ange up to now but I've been turned by our latest games and in particular last nights debacle. The things that kept me pro Ange were the way we played football at the start of last season as I believed if we could replicate with fit again players we could beat anyone, and secondly I just couldn't see for the life of me who I would want as a replacement? It's not like Pep or Ancelotti or Enrique are available. Some were talking about Iraola because they are doing OK at the moment but really is he that good or has he lucked in on a good group of players? Look at United bringing in Amorim. He was meant to be a genius who would turn them around. No my friends there is no easy solution and sooner or later the board are going to have to stick with one manager through good and bad times.
There are NO "good" times on the radar imv..
