I'd honestly be happy with a team that had a more sustainable defensive structure, could hold onto the ball, and didn't leave such absurd amounts of space all over the pitch. The players can't be feeling very confident having to play this rubbish football every week and coughing up possession trying to progress the ball.

IMO there's some fairly obvious tactical tweaks that would shore us up and lead to more shot-creating actions, and which I have absolutely no faith in Ange employing:
  • Have our fullbacks provide the touchline width and bring our "wingers" narrower as wide forwards, which would better suit our squad. BJ, Maddison and Sonny (Moore, Tel) would make runs into the box and support Big Dom.
  • Have a defensive midfielder (e.g. Gray) drop back into a three when necessary as we're advancing the ball.
  • Play Maddison further up the pitch and have Bergvall + Bentancur/Sarr as our roaming 8s behind the front 4.
We may not score as many goals, but we'd be a lot less erratic and actually CONTROL games a bit better.

I expect in his contract is a clause " if no euro football = less compo when sacked" and that is what is keeping him in a job,
Levy will not take a risk and pay Ange off (at full rate) and bring in Terzic for 4mths to try to win the cup & get CL football next season with the money that CL brings

He has never not had the fans with him at other clubs because he has done well there . Turns out Claudia Winkleman could win the treble managing Celtic. Slagging us off for his appalling team performance is the sign of both arrogance and failing to understand his own contribution to the atmosphere.
Oh there’s no question that the mask has fallen. He’s deluded. He genuinely can’t work out why the game plan that beats Hamilton Academical isn’t working here.

I said elsewhere the haphazard, swashbuckling nature of those first 10 games is gone now too. We are defensively and offensively shit.

Like even yesterday, it took a worldie fluke and a penalty to salvage a draw in a game that we should have been 4 or 5 down in. That’s the story of the season too, with better finishing we’d have been absolutely molested in most games we played.

He’s so far out of his depth it’s only his blubber keeping him afloat.

Yeah I want Poch back too

It’s quite funny how he was so good in press conferences at the beginning and for quite a while thereafter . He knew exactly what to say and how to say it , turns out sound bites don’t win trophies . Now he has failed so badly he has even lost his knack of what to say, every time he opens his mouth he makes it worse . Not only is he not up to it , he clearly is crumbling under the pressure and perhaps the realisation he is actually really shit at his job . A job he genuinely thought he was really good at when competing against other managers who are as bad if not worse than him .

That’s how I see it now I have finally smelt the coffee

One thing I don’t understand and it’s been an issue for months is the constantly inverting full backs and how high they play! Leaves them exposed single time, either by being to high to get back or being so narrow the fella at the back post have enough momentum to cut in (the first goal yesterday) I’d maybe understand if it offered something going forward, but it just doesn’t.

How can neither he or the coaches see this?

He’s not prepared to compromise.

Why aren’t we hearing ange out at the stadium?
Most of us here can see he is done and needs to go. Haven’t heard a peep from match day fans. The ones the Aussie twat slagged off yesterday!

Tourists , & probably the majority of ST holders are ground down with the constant conveyer belt of managers with next to nothing changing. If this was 6 or 7 years ago he’d be well gone . He’s without question a manager who deserves to go but this time levy doesn’t like the optics another stupid decision by the little cretin

Super cross but how many times have we seen that massive gap behind the fullbacks? It's madness. Happens every game, costs us a goal at least every other game for no obvious benefit.
see my post from the match thread for their goal, youve nailed it - if we can both see it why cant he?

There's no disgrace in aiming for the stars and seeing how far you can go in your career. But it takes a lot of guts to admit when you're out of your depth. From Celtic, he should have tried a Championship side as his next step.
If by some miracle, he does manage to get us to win the EL, he still needs to go, for the sake of his own health and well-being. This job has burnt out better managers than him.

Did I miss out anything?

Bumpy pitch; under inflated ball; floodlights too bright/dim; aeroplanes/birds flying overhead

The fact he stated this constant playing from the back everytime no matter what is the way to go just sums up his mentality. Every team changes it up. Even Vicario went slightly longer at times. Such fucking common sense that ange doesnt seem to have
