Nicked this from elsewhere so hoping it is correct…

Tottenham’s Worst PL Seasons by Losses:

1993-94 : 19 lost
1997-98 : 17 lost
2003-04 : 16 lost
2024-25 : 15 lost (not out -9 more games to go)
2013-14 : 14 losses
2019-20 : 13 losses

Ange Postecoglou on course to be the worst PL Tottenham manager...
This season actually has quite a bit in common with 93/94. Sheringham was out for several months, Gordon Durie was sold after a row with Ossie which left us with Ronny Rosenthal, Jason Dozzell and a 19 year old Nick Barmby. Dozzell was our second top scorer with 10 goals, Sheringham managed an impressive 13 goals in 19 appearances.

In terms of goals scored and conceded, we weren't too far off Liverpool. They scored 59 goals compared to our 54 and conceded 55 compared to our 59 but somehow they ended up finishing with 15 more points than us. That bought them an 8th place finish which is very poor by their standards but would have been a good finish for us at that time. We even beat them at Anfield and drew 3-3 at the Lane after coming back from 3-1 down.

I guess it all comes down to grinding out those wins and draws. To think, before we lost to Ipswich, we were talking about going ahead of Woolwich in the league and making a push for CL qualification. The margins between success and failure can be so thin.

Game management seems to be the critical failing of both Ange and Ossie. If you want to make progress in the league or win trophies, you've got to do what it takes to get results over the line. I keep thinking back to how much we could have used that hard fought 1-1 draw we got at Anfield under Conte towards the end of 21/22 in the semi-final a few weeks ago.

Honestly, considering Ange has won the league with the Brisbane Boomerang Bandits, The Wombat Warriors, The Emu Enforcers, The Surfing Stingrays AND won the Crocodile Tear Jug with the Roo Rackers im utterly shocked how he has somehow managed to fail so miserably in the Premier League.

It must be a media agenda.
well he did win the tiger cup with us

Leicester, being run by an extremely suspect group of ownership and in a free fall in the last few years, still managed to attract van Nistelrooy mid-season. A 48 yr old who ended up winning the Dutch Cup and Dutch Super Cup while finishing 2nd with PSV in his only season in charge.

Wolves, another team in the same boat, keep attracting managers like Lage, Lopetegui and Pereira who won leagues and trophies that someone like Ange can only dream of.

A perennial bottom half team like Palace managed to attract Glasner mid-season when they were hovering around the relegation zone, a former EL winner who also managed to qualify for Europe on a number of occasions.

This is the type of pull that this league has. With this in mind, trying to explain this appointment away as just another instance of Peter Principle, or Levy failing to find anybody better after exhausting all the possible options, doesn't do justice to what kind of a failure this has been.

Wasn't Ange supposed to lead us to League Cup victory? I just had a look and Newcastle are playing against Liverpool.

But when Bergvall scored 1-0, some of you talked a lot. The same bunch are not talking so much now, are they?

Some posters even wanted to register those who were AngeOut. Like it was something they would use against us in the future. Strange time with this quack at the wheel.

A friend of mine asked me earlier in the week ‘if Ange won the Europa League with Spurs would you still be Ange out?’ I laughed because there isn’t a way in hell this team wins that trophy under Ange, but still I responded that I would want Ange to go at the end of the season regardless.

It is evident that this team is underperforming massively, and that is down to training and the manager’s tactics.

You know what’s funny?

For all the praise Ange gets for his press conferences, does he ever actually talk footballing tactics?

I swear to god I can’t actually recall him ever reflecting on tactical aspects of the game. He just comes up with pseudo intellectual non football related bullshit, feels sorry for himself that people would dare to doubt him, moans about injuries, and has a go at reporters.

You can’t even call him a fraud, he is what he is - a bang average football manager who has won some trophies in completely insignificant leagues and has never been tested at the top level. Fair play to him Levy took a punt on a complete unknown, Ange must be loving the big salary which will set him up for life.

Even if if he wins EL, he’s got to go.

It’s not so much Angeball but the lack of preparation, motivation and discipline he instils in his players. Yes, some of them aren’t up to much but I’ve had enough of this sloppy, tired approach to seemingly every game.

Struggling to think of a time when we’ve strung together 2/3 decent performances on the bounce and I reckon that would been 18 months ago if not more.

Think he should go now personally, not up.to the task and waffles shit in the press.
Had enough of the cunt, time for him too book the one way ticket with Quantas.

I'm glad we have got to gallows humour bit because I went today and I just don't know how many more ways to say what I've been saying for over a year and a half. The only good thing about today was seeing a few other away warriors and the fact it's quicker to back home from the cottage to my house than the lane. Don't be decived we were shambolic, the continuously poorest set up side I've seen since Ardiles. We are clearly being coached by people not competent to do the job.

The man just stands there:he is clueless boorish and dull witted. The football is fucking incoherent utterly aimlessly under coached sideways junk. It's toothless and really shit to watch. The lowering of standards is appalling. The wankers talking big after Thursday, support other teams. I hate this coach the owner and portions of our fan base beyond words.

Why are people clinging on to the thought of us winning the EL? Delusional. We barely scraped past AZ dutch farmers. Frankfurt are a competent side that’ll make light work of us. Itll be over in the first leg.

Sack him now and get a new manager in to give him 10 or so games to make some moves and adjustments
