We were very much in contention for a champions league place.
Whether you and other fans like it or not, that IS an objective for the players, the coach and the club as a whole.
Good point TBF , but equally second is nowhere in Ange’s book . Important to Levy yes . As for fans there was a time top 4 was our holy grail , for many not anymore . It has not led to the on field investment, just like the new stadium hasn’t . I don’t count we fucked up by not spending then playing catch up spending as investment, it’s damage limitation . Well it ain’t working anymore , chickens have come home to roost .
I am now not bothered about CL qualification any where near as much as I used to be , it merely benefits Levy and Lewis . Give me consistently 5th to 10th every decade but 2-4 trophies . I will raise my ambition when Levy fucks off , right now my wishes are a dream;which is a disgrace with our profitability

I still think it's a backwards mentality.

Just to play devils advocate, it's the last game of the season, we beat Liverpool and we're guaranteed Champions league the following season....but Woolwich win the league.
Lose and we're playing 2nd tier European football, but Liverpool pip Woolwich to the title......which way do our fans want it to go?
Mate your so far off here... guaranteed Champions League... what trophy is that? Does finishing 4th give us a winners mentality... no it doesn't... it means we're the third losers.

I l
All the fan said was "what was that?"

Deary me, you've got to be able to ignore these people as a manager.

I'm fed up of Ange's disdain for the fans. He couldn't understand why they didn't want Woolwich to win the title and criticised it.

I don't see him aligning with the fans in same way poch or conte did either. They spoke their mind to flag inadequacies that are a barrier to success. Ange tries his very best to excuse the fact we've got players like timo werner on loan.
I loved the way the fan kept saying “what was that?”

Cool customer rattled the fuck out of sweet Angelos. Off to Greggs fatboy !

has he gone yet? and the rest of the mugs "coaching" behind him?

This is the time to do it Levy, come on for fucks sake

or is it like Jose where theres some kind of bonus / split clause in his contract and he wont sack him because we are in the EL (not for long) and that would mean a higher severance

either way, I dont care, we've seen enough now - act, goddamm it

what is your opinion of him now as a manager btw? i know you want him gone but how do you rate his managerial 'skills' now?

I respect his conviction to achieving the brand of football that he believes in. I respect that he didn’t budge in the face of huge pressure.

He was recruited to try and play that way so did what he was hired to do. Some of the performances have been amongst the best I can remember.

But … and there is a but … he made some errors of judgment that will have eventually cost him his job if he does get fired. He said himself that he drove the recruitment for younger players this summer. We will be grateful for those younger players later, some of them already now but there was more than a shade of arrogance to think he could be competitive in the PL with a side built on so many teenagers. He was naive to think that Romero and VDV wouldn’t spend decent chunks on the sidelines injured as well.

I think he also underestimated al lot of other things about the PL and he’s been punished for those underestimations. Squad size and intensity with a European and Cup schedule being another key one.

I’m probably the wrong person to ask though because I know that I have a bias towards backing coaches when they have to shoulder all the blame.

I would want to win definitely, but from the Lake District where I would spend a week . I couldn’t stay at home for it in Islington, it would be torture . I know this cos I lived it several times when Graham and Wenger delivered the title.

However I would not criticise another fan who felt differently. The CL under ENIC is important to them , however it has ultimately delivered no discernible benefit to fans , in fact all it delivers is ever higher ticket prices

EDIT: The biggest delivery of CL to the club is it gives Levy the ability to say

For the fans there is a case to be argued it is a cost without upside under ENIC .

In fairness to Ange, that's one of the few things I think he's got right at Spurs.
We have a shit mentality as a club sometimes, we've been called Spursy, Dr Tottenham and sections of our fans would rather we lose, just because they can't face seeing a rival celebrate.
I mean, it's a shit state of affairs when the mentality is to lose, sosomeone else doesn't win. Winners win, it's in their DNA, it hurts to lose even one game.
At least Ange tried to fix that shit mentality, although he failed at that too unfortunately.

Mate, with due respect, once you questioned why many of us wanted to lose to City last season, directly to prevent Woolwich from winning the title, you lost me.

To cite that and to somewhat ignore the guy's abject failure since we beat Villa 4 zip at their place, many moon rotations ago, is bonkers.

I'm always suspicious of videos because you don't see what happened just before the part that gets publicized. It's not a good look, but who knows what lead up to this.
In fairness I think there was a longer video where the fan was more abusive. Doesn't really matter though, when you lose game after game supporters are obviously going to be angry, some perhaps a bit over the top. But you still have to act professional and ignore it rather than, yet again, confronting the fan like a bloke at the pub who has had a pint or two too many.

It gives us more money for transfers, a bigger attraction for bigger names coming in, playing better teams than in the Europa or Conference Leagues. Trouble is that Levy only considers the first point.

We don’t really invest when things are going well though as evidenced post the CL final . People point to our expenditure last 5 years as proof of investment , but it is not . It is panic buying to try and mitigate a malaise manifesting in poor performance. If we invest from strength it’s better than our :

oh fuck it’s all going wrong better try and claw it back approach

We are now mitigating that panic buying with a wage squeeze and an investment in kids

I’m not as convinced it will be as good for us as it will be for him.

Unless something changes in the boardroom, we are stuck being ENIC Hotspurs. Whereas he can leave and get back to being himself and enjoying his life.

Don't get me wrong, I know that ultimately, Levy is fucking us. I haven't forgotten that and he needs to fuck off too.

But I'm also very sure we can get in a manager who can win us more games than Ange is and at least make us look like a decently-coached team.

Where are the trolls prophecing on about that it was going to be magical once all the injured players are back?

Whats next?
Here is a list of what we had on the excuses menu so far, which means they are not reuseable:
- Injuries
- Djed Spence having to work harder (and now arguably our top player currently)
- Weeks with 2 games
- Weeks with 1 game
- Weeks with 0 games
- Dane Scarlett assist
- Bissouma
- Knocks and sores
- The fans
- The decisions
- Mikey Moore
- Mr Hindsight
- Brennan Johnson
- More careful with starting van de Ven and Romero
- The pitch
- Mathys Tel
- Losing games by only one goal
- Joint 2nd top league scorers

I know alot of them are unserious and just trying to stir shit up. But to those who seriously believe this clown is going to do anything of significane here or at another club, let alone string a few wins together...

If you look at the form table over the last 19 league games, exactly half a season, we are 4th from bottom with 18 points from 19 games, 5 points behind a 5th from bottom Spammers on 23 points.

This season has been something of an outlier in that the 3 promoted sides this season have all just been completely out of their depth and none of the 3 May break 25 points. Most seasons, this sort of form and results that we have produced is relegation form.

STOP.
TRYING.
TO.
FUCKING.
MAKE.
SENSE.

It is just a tough league, you know mate.
Not a lot in this today, mate, you know.
Lot of injuries and we could have used everyone being available, you know mate.
Pitch was not quite right, you know mate. And it was narrow one yesterday mate.
And it was a really unfair one here, mate, could even be said that it was hard to take because it was uneven playing field.
I mean, mate, come on, pretty clear they were cheating mate. Cause it look like they had been coached, mate. Have you ever seen something like that before, mate?!?!

Starting to wonder if Ange even looks at the fixture list. Was he aware we had an 18 break to our next game so resting Maddison, Bergval, Son, Odobert wasn't really necessary? Taking off Romero at 0-0 wasn't necessary either! I can understand the VDV rest as 3 day turnaround for him would be dangerous giving his recent history.

But back in September/October when we'd games every 3 days and a mostly fit squad, he never seemed to rotate. Players like Kulusevski, Son and Solanke were ran into the ground. He had excuses during the winter months as half the squad was injured so he couldn't rotate as much but even then he under utilised certain players.

I can recall when Bentancur had the 7 game league ban, Ange took him off on 60 mins during a Europa League game and left Sarr on the pitch who we needed to play 3 days later. Shocking squad management!

I just get the feeling that he's not really looking at the fixtures or planning ahead. We could easily have gone much stronger yesterday giving we've an 18 day until next match. If anyone picked up a knock then it actually works out for us as they prob don't go away for internationals then.

Thats what Woolwich do. Run their players into the ground before international breaks and then have the physios telling them not to go away. Its cynical but it works! We need to cop on and get our house in order. Resting Romero for Argentina was pathetic and sums up everything wrong with this club!

Good call. Probably not, and I won't be surprised. He's so into his own cult of playing at a consistent level only he himself dreamt of achieving and thinks anything else will take care of its own.

It's hard to blame the coach when he needs a top striker and you give him Tel, Richarlison, Johnson and Solanke - who between them would struggle to get a start at Leicester.

Hahahha, fucksake you are such a pathetic clown really.

Solanke scored 19 league goals for Bournemouth last season. 4th largest goalscorer with top level hold up play and ability to press.
"would struggle to get a start at Leicester".

Go wank of Ange in private, cause doing somehting so disgusting here publically just fucking ain't right.

Not even any articles in the press or rumours on social media that his job is under threat.

I’m absolutely stunned.

If there was a protest to get him sacked, I’d attend it. Awful manager and shown himself to be an even worse man.

Watching the damage to our club is painful right now.

WTF is Levy doing?
