Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

His press conference today was, at times, a hard watch. He was rude, somewhat arrogant and possibly delusional.

I’d love him to win tomorrow, turn it all around and get the Europa league. But I would almost certainly now be also thinking. Nah “mate” you are not right here at all. Bye. 👋

Mason needs to go as well. Cant just hang around being a potential caretaker or club grass.
For a bloke who claims he wants to be a first team coach somewhere Mason is hanging around like a BBC diversity hire. Surely by now he should have found someone to take him on? four years after his achievement of getting 7th when 6th would do he’s here still ! and now an even lower level than two years ago when he was rumbled for being a bit shit. Remember in 2023 he was not even in the running for the main job when we could not appoint someone for love nor money and ended up with Thick Dundee.

Wouldn't surprise me if we don't win another game this season. Ange is so out of depth he's basically lost at sea.

Has he really?

I don't personally see it. He is not saying anything with any real meaning. He is just mumbling random generic shit. That how stupid he is.

He is not even saying that "In this situation, we should have done that" or "When x happened, we should have done y". He just has one way of doing things and he is not able nor willing to adapt fuck all. He will play another player only once original pick gets injured.

Everything always seems subjective, specially when the answers are generic and people can and will interpret it according to their views. The way I personally see it - he just admitted that he is not able to assess situation and handle things on that level. It is just too much for him. Requirements and pressure is just way too much for him to make right decisions.
It’s a complete BS excuse. As usual never admits anything or owns up to anything he may have got wrong. It’s the ‘we’ may have underestimated things. He’s been a manager for over 20 years, had 2 seasons with Celtic in Europe and playing all cup comps. Hdf had he not realised impact of 2 games a week? Anyway what does he even mean by we ‘went to hard’? How? We couldn’t even beat Leicester first game. Then had some real mix bag of results and performances like v Coventry. He never played Spence. Or changed things around. The guy is a complete contradiction and Teflon.

He’s 33.

There’s no rush. The fact he didn’t speak up and say this squad is too small back in August tells you he definitely wasn’t ready for a managers job then.

This season will have been invaluable to his experience.

I hope he finds a good job to move into anyway.

Friends who have now got decent jobs in football in their 40s were not managing anyone you’ve heard of age 33.

Clueless bastard. And I'm not having the road to Damascus types giving it the 'but we all thought' crap. They are as thick as him. I kept the receipts on a poster ridiculing me and worrying about Levy's bottom ...line. when I said we should attempt to get Tapsoba AND VDV. There were certainly a few posters saying we needed to do more than we had done.

He's obviously done at the club. Shooting from the hip even more. Plainly obvious he can't stand us as a fan base. I called it after the city game last season that his comments he'd lost 75% of the fanbase
Not sure on 75% as some dumb fuckers still backed this guy up until recently and some still do. The crowd sang his name even when getting whipped by dippers.

He was.

I read his response to the journalist’s question on Poch and seeing it in writing it looked like a perfectly adequate response. However, when I actually watched the presser it was clear the question irked him and it was noticeable how he was irritated. The next few questions from the floor were all met with five or six word answers from Ange, clearly as he had the hump, was pissed off and wanted to move on.

Appreciate some of these journos would get on anyone’s tits at times, but for someone who would have us believe he is this older wiser figure that’s been round the block a few times and not much phases him — he really can act like a spoilt brat kid.
Someone who sings his own praises like coming 5 th last season after 8th the previous season. Made out it was some big achievement and that it showed he must rather good at this managerial lark.

Brighton manager is 32. Nagglesmanm was in his early 30sxsbd is German team manager still in his 30s.

The answer before that was just as bad as well, the reporter asked about his recent interview and asked if he could elaborate on him saying he should have taken a different approach at the start of the season and Ange just said 'I thought it was pretty clear mate, just listen to the interview again'. Can't help himself
Unbelievable! I mean what does he mean by it? Does he players, tactics, training , what?

no doubt. he loves to act like he's 'in the club' like he's already achieved shit at the highest levels. if he gets on tv he'll tut tut about how we aren't a serious club and we're not which is why we hired this backwoods hick. don't know how anyone still thinks he's a 'decent bloke'. he's an arrogant deluded prick
I e said that before he tries to come across as the managers father figure like he’s one of the big boys. Can’t believe how bbc and itv were so duped by him.

How is this guy still in a job. Look at Leicesters recent league record, played 15 , lost 14, won 1 , against you know who, who couldn't manage to beat one of the poorest teams to ever grace the Prem league. Add in the fact that Ipswich also best us. Get him out now.

Fair comment. I don’t wish him ill. I just think he needs to be gone. For various reasons including perhaps his best development.

Just saying at his age his had at least 5 years now on the coaching staff. So enough experience to have learnt. If he played to say mid 30s then started coaching he’d be about 40. He has got there at a younger age that’s all so you’d by now he would be wanted by someone.

I’d agree the longer he stays the harder it gets to leave.

It’s a bit of a throwback to the old Liverpool “boot room” days.

I think he needs to move on now.

We need totally fresh ideas. And he was part of the team that was happy starting this season with essentially 17 senior outfield players. So obvious that’s just not enough.
