Yep, the total apathy has gone beyond the abject manager at this point. Levy appointed him, should have acted months ago in sacking him and the rot has set in. Its all on Levy. I dont see how you can blame people for not being interested. What do we get to give fans a bit of hope, a terse statement from Levy telling us more of the same to come. And yet people turned on Conte. The man was dealing with deaths and health issues as well as a joke of a chairman and still managed to get us into the CL and left with us comfortably in the top 3.

I'd disagree for the reason that they're Thursday nights; Thursday Sunday Thursday is a real killer for PL teams (unless you've got a squad like Chavs currently do).
Good Spanish teams will be able to coast for much if not most of the season. Ditto French, German, Dutch, Portuguese. Italian too. Our only easy games since November have been Saints and Ipswich.
Even if we had serial Euro winner Unai E in charge I still wouldnt have us favourtites.

Unai was good in Spain when he was around mid table and could concentrate on Europe. Last season Villa should have walked the conference. Easily the best team in it but beaten by Olympiakos. When do Prem lge top 4 lose to the likes of Olympiakos in a knockout game. The reason was that they wanted champ lge top 4.

Comparing Conte's time to Ange's time is such a pointless exercise, even when you remove the calibre of each manager.
Conte has the best striker in the league, along with a prime Son. Kane was the difference between us and where we are now if we're deeply honest. He won us matches on his own.

Iraola I like, but he'll need time, which as a fan base we're not very giving of. Silva I think we'll get the same treatment as Nuno, potentially Frank as well.

In the mix for the FA cup you will have Liverpool, City and Woolwich. 3 clearly CL level teams. Even Villa are CL quarter finalists - beyond that you have a group of teams who are easily on a level with Frankfurt etc. Of course the FA cup is harder to win FFS.
To win the Europa League this season you don't have to face a single side who have dropped out of the premier competition, its a huge opportunity.

No, he took us from 3rd to 5th. We Were quite comfortably in the top 4 even with Conte losing his marbles.
It was Stellini and Masenollio that took us down to 8th.
And now we're miles below 8th. So it's been a steady decline down the table since we sacked Conte.
But STILL there are people that think we're better off.
Conte had a much worse squad but two elite stars (in fairness they also looked elite because he played to their strengths - see Son now for a comparison).
A Conte team with our current defence would be frightening.
