Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Anges biggest problem with the way he deals with the media is doing the whole “I don’t care, say what you want, write what you want” (he does the same with the clubs fans) then clearly showing that he does very much indeed care what people think of him and it just makes him look like a narcissist who wants to appear cool and unfussed.

He definitely cares. It bothers him like it would bother anyone. Denying it just serves to be blood in the water for the sharks.

Everyone seems to be missing the obvious, low cost, solution to the manager problem. We just ship Postecoglou off to ManU and we take Amorim. ManU is years away from being good again and their fans would probably enjoy the show Ange would put on for a few years. Amorim is actually a competent coach with some upward potential and we could do much worse. Just swap the contracts at the end of the season and keep going.

For safety sake we need a foreign manager who care barely speak English. After this, it would make a nice change.

I couldn't COPE with someONE like Emery randomly SHOUTing words at me.

My guess is Jonathan Liew from the Guardian. They've clashed a few times but Liew is massive Woolwich window licker who hates Spurs so no surprise. I know there is no love lost between Ange and Patrick Davison from Sky... it's probably easier to name the journalists / reporters that Ange does like than the one's he don't.
Could be anyone.

I think they all think Ange is a complete cock. And they’re correct.

Of all the things that betray his lack of genuinely high level experience, it’s his inability to handle the press.

Ange's problem is that he is highly dismissive of any view that doesn't align with his. That's fine to some extent. A lot of the greatest coaches of all time, across a number of professional sports had a very similar mentality.

The difference between Ange and all of them was the very important bit about winning a lot of very big shit. People didn't like Cassius Clay and his unheard of bragging for that generation. What they couldn't argue with was the follow up results when his mouth wasn't doing the talking.

I think Ange had a period there where if he were a little more humble and didn't pretend to so assuredly know everything things would be different now. Most eople would've been sympathetic, and working changes could've been made without being taken as massive back downs, weakness and desperation.

He missed the boat big time on that chance. If people doubt what I write just think of the patience shown to him up until recently with as a back drop a complete shit show and him insulting any with the nerve ti slightly question said shit show.

Another thing that Ange (and other modern my way or the high way coaches like Maresca) have missed is that just because you have a way or football philosophy, doesn't mean that you cannot be adaptable.

It seems like a lot of modern philosophy coaches study Pep, but take the wrong lesson from him.

Pep is very much committed to his "control possession, control the game" philosophy of football. But Pep's teams always change how they play. His Barca did not play like his Bayern. And his City has changed like 5 times. But the core idea is still the same.
