Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Ange's problem is that he is highly dismissive of any view that doesn't align with his. That's fine to some extent. A lot of the greatest coaches of all time, across a number of professional sports had a very similar mentality.

The difference between Ange and all of them was the very important bit about winning a lot of very big shit. People didn't like Cassius Clay and his unheard of bragging for that generation. What they couldn't argue with was the follow up results when his mouth wasn't doing the talking.

I think Ange had a period there where if he were a little more humble and didn't pretend to so assuredly know everything things would be different now. Most eople would've been sympathetic, and working changes could've been made without being taken as massive back downs, weakness and desperation.

He missed the boat big time on that chance. If people doubt what I write just think of the patience shown to him up until recently with as a back drop a complete shit show and him insulting any with the nerve ti slightly question said shit show.
Completely right hubris. Massive ego brought it on himself. Carried in such an arrogant way he lost all the freinds he had.

You said it, mate.

How can you say that "he seems like a good bloke" when he hears "you don't know what you are doing" by fans during Chelsea game. Then our subbed-in player scored a goal he was cupping his hand towards away supporters (so DIRECTLY at the people who are paying his wages). Goal gets (correctly) turned over by VAR.

And now comes first part - after game in press conference, he just spouts total fucking garbage like
"Oh, I've learned the lesson, I will not celebrate a goal again" and "I just wanted fans to make some noise to support the team".

How can you even live so long in this world and have no fucking self awareness and accountability? I really don't get it.
This all is sign of a pathetic and despisable man.
He also deliberately shit on Djed Spence and lied to pretend it was some deep plan. Pathetic bloke he is.

Pep is very much committed to his "control possession, control the game" philosophy of football. But Pep's teams always change how they play. His Barca did not play like his Bayern. And his City has changed like 5 times. But the core idea is still the same.

Makes me laugh when fans think all his teams have played the exact same way since 2008. He's maybe not as adaptable to his squads as Ferguson was, but to suggest it's a simple as one style of play for 17 years at 3 different clubs in 3 different leagues is bonkers.

Pep also proactively changes and adapts to stay ahead. Not reactively when it doesn’t work. Hes talked about this. His Man City teams have significantly changed multiple times.

He's doing the big, smirking "I don't define myself by this ... I don't think that way ... I couldn't care less" etc etc.

What a fanny.

Not so long ago it was how important football was to him, how the fans are the most important people in the game. Now he couldn't care less.

Just fucking resign then.

Oh wait ... you're in it for the money? No? Then resign.

Another thing that Ange (and other modern my way or the high way coaches like Maresca) have missed is that just because you have a way or football philosophy, doesn't mean that you cannot be adaptable.

It seems like a lot of modern philosophy coaches study Pep, but take the wrong lesson from him.

…have the best players in the league.

if you ever find yourself playing poker with big ange this is his bluffing tell face.

"yeah, i don't really worry about what people say about me"

And there's only one man who can change the culture at spurs. Not ange, or any super manager, just one man.

And he couldn't give a fuck
That's just not true. If it was it would mean we had the same culture under Poch as under Ange. That is patently false, whatever the Poch shortcomings were, it was night and day better culturally from everything we can see outside-in, than this garbage.

Levy is fundamental yes. But he is not wholly responsible for team culture by any stretch.
