Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I am amazed none of the press or pundits asked Ange why the team played so differently tonight. We went long a lot more, especially from goal kicks. It was everything that Ange’s critics had been asking / telling him to do since November. He was resolute that he would not change or compromise his principles of passing out from the back and baiting the press, whoever the personnel were and that we had to be brave. Has he adjusted / evolved his thinking? Or did the players decide they were fed up losing and make the change themselves? It seems a little ‘out of order’ criticising him after a massive win, but we’d not be in the bottom half of the table if we’d played this way all season!

He changed completely. He was on the brink of ending a complete failure at this level.

It's all most of us have wanted, to adapt to differing game conditions and realign the balance between attacking and defensive principles.

And wouldn't you know it, we look far more solid and stronger for it.

Fair play to him for doing that but he should of had this 'moment of clarity' months ago.

I still don't want him here next season, but credit for eventually changing it.

Ange will not be staying. Winning the El will definitely mean he is moving on. He has one of the best agents around and I'd be shocked if his next job isn't almost over the line.

If he wins EL he is the first Tottenham manager to win something of impotence this century. He'll say done something that all else failed at. He will also say see what I can do with a reasonably fit team. He will also point to the two years and I win shit.

He and his agent are not simpletons. The bonus for certain metrics like an EL win, and champion league qualification would roughly equal if not better any dismissal

No ole Ange will be leaving with his boots well filled and his stocks soaring with a EL win.

Most here think he speaks nothing but crap. That doesn't mean a whole wide world of football will think the same. There's a lot of clubs with excess loot all desperate for a dream.

Ange is just the man to make dreams happen, and as an added bonus he will bring the rain if you're suffering through drought.
Sounds like we have a shot at the Viagra cup as our trophy of impotence. We are risen at Easter under Ange

Can't wait for the ending of the season. Hopefully with EL trophy, only 3 matches to go.

Can't wait also when this cunt be gone.

Those bloody crosses on back post and very dangerous goal kicks straight to their CF almost hurt us again :D But at least we limited amount of those attempts by sitting deep when it was important.

Oh I make no mistake, if he wins the Europe League he'll be the media darling and find himself another job at a reasonable level if he wants. If I was in his shoes at his age and we won the EL i'd take the payoff, retire, do some tv/radio work if I feel like it. Go watch cricket in Australia and chill.
He can even write a book: "How i got Tottenham at 17th in the league and survived whole season. Mate." :D

As long as he is as far as possible from us - i will be happy no matter what he will do or say about us.

Our fans have been through a tough time. Hopefully this gives them something to look forward to," said Postecoglou, whose Spurs side are 15th in the Premier League.

"I'm the same coach that I was yesterday. The players have never lost belief. People like to mock and diminish my achievements but I'll leave that there.

"I don't care, it doesn't bother me, it doesn't affect what I do. For me, it's always about the dressing room. Do the players believe? Do the staff believe?

"That's much more important than what others may make of me.

"So, unfortunately for a lot of you, you're going to have to put up with me for a little bit longer."

💅💅💅.....

He really doesn’t care, I mean if you ignore the fact he constantly tells us he doesn’t care, and him getting into rows at pitch side where he’s telling people doesn’t care, and when he snaps back at journalists to tell them he doesn’t care, and that press conferences are full of quotes about him not caring…

Taking it all into account, it’s clear that he really doesn’t care…

…doesn’t.

I needed that like many of us - something, anything to hold on to for the end of this miserable year.
The players are taking things on themselves aren’t they? The frantic pace of the game, atmosphere and scrappiness in the first half meant we couldn’t really get up the pitch high anyway but more long balls and no fucking about at goal kicks was a huge change and well needed.
Proud of the players today - they have it in them and they should go into that first leg flying now regardless of league results.
What an opportunity this is.

There is no team left here that we aren’t capable of beating, this is our best chance in years in all honesty.

fair play to Ange for last night , he has got a lot wrong this season but set us up well last night , all the eggs are in the EL basket now and he has put his balls on the line here , but if he does happen to get us across the line then don’t get me wrong I still want him gone but would we have to consider him our most successful manager of the PL era?

It’s quite the juxtaposition. He’d be the most successful manager for 41 years, with the highest ranked trophy since Burkinshaw won the UEFA cup.

Whilst simultaneously being the worst manager statistically in the league in the same time period.

Let’s just hope he wins it, we get our trophy, he gets his bragging rights, and at the end of the season he can go on his merry way and everyone’s a winner in a sense.

Then next season, a better coach hopefully brings us similar success whilst also having us performing better in the league.

Really hoping now for just a nice mutual separation. Though I have to say, people are looking beyond Bodo, and we haven’t got any right to do so.

If Ange can just get us over the line, we get our 3rd Uefa Cup!

We also have the chance to reset as a club. Move on with an amicable split from Ange, get a new coach with Champions League football and the potential to recruit a couple of really good players in the summer. I think the league will be very competitive next season but also wide open for the teams who have their shit together.
