fair play to Ange for last night , he has got a lot wrong this season but set us up well last night , all the eggs are in the EL basket now and he has put his balls on the line here , but if he does happen to get us across the line then don’t get me wrong I still want him gone but would we have to consider him our most successful manager of the PL era?
He can be successful but still poor. Just as Ramos was literally more successful than Pochettino but nowhere near as good overall.

We won't win it anyway. I'm just resigned to being let down by Spurs.

I think you''ll find that we have won 3 European finals in our history, made the CL final and a SF in 1982, so by my calculation that's 5 SFs so far, no. 6 coming up!
6 but our cup winners cup victory didn't have a semi final.

1961-62 European Cup - Lost to Benfica (3-4 aggregate).
1971-72 UEFA Cup - Won against AC Milan (3-2 aggregate), went on to win the competition.
1972-73 UEFA Cup - Lost to Liverpool (1-2 aggregate).
1983-84 UEFA Cup - Won against Hajduk Split (2-2 aggregate, won on away goals), went on to win the competition.
2018-19 UEFA Champions League - Won against Ajax (3-3 aggregate, won on away goals), advanced to the final.
2024-25 UEFA Europa League - Currently in semifinals against Bodø/Glimt (first leg May 1, 2025; second leg May 8, 2025).

I am amazed none of the press or pundits asked Ange why the team played so differently tonight. We went long a lot more, especially from goal kicks. It was everything that Ange’s critics had been asking / telling him to do since November. He was resolute that he would not change or compromise his principles of passing out from the back and baiting the press, whoever the personnel were and that we had to be brave. Has he adjusted / evolved his thinking? Or did the players decide they were fed up losing and make the change themselves? It seems a little ‘out of order’ criticising him after a massive win, but we’d not be in the bottom half of the table if we’d played this way all season!

That’s what I can’t stop wondering too. Why haven’t they played like that every week?

If they’d all put that level of effort in we’d be much higher up the table.

Credit where its due for Ange. Got the subs right today. Rode our luck at the end but thats the only way you can win away in Europe and we got it done

There is no way he will be sacked if we win the EL
It's fine to talk hypothetically now before it happens - but the reality of the atmosphere changing after we win it would be completely different.

Lose narrowly/unluckily and it's 50/50.

It's not a question of what people want - just reality.

Lose every PL game and comfortably and it's very likely bye.

Of course he will be sacked. He's been fucking awful.

Thanks, I thought there were more but couldn't be bovvered to Google it. Just listed what I remembered from the top of my head, can't believe i forgot the European Cup against Benfica, in hen it really was for Champions only

Good news for us is that feelings of animosity seem to be mutual. He is fed up with us as well, see the not-so-subtle digs that he has been taking towards the club in the last few weeks. Him winning EL will hopefully allow Base to do some nice marketing campaign on his behalf, and we'll split "amicably".

Some of his fiercest critics in the media will be lining up to sing his praises if he wins it though, make no mistake about it. Without any context, they'll be writing emotion-laden articles about how a man starting from the rock bottom has defied all the odds by making it to the top of the game by winning a major trophy with a "cursed" club. All other facts will be swept under the rug obviously. Majority of the non-Spurs fans will be looking at him with sympathy, if not with outright admiration for what he has done.

Whether Levy will be able to resist the urge to take the easy way by keeping him is another story. I'm not very hopeful to be honest.

Mate, ignore him. He's 100% an Ange fanboy. Earlier in the season we could "beat anybody" and now he's trumpeting all over the forum because we beat Frankfurt by a goal because his hero suddenly decided he knows how to setup a team to sit in. The players got us over the line today, the individual quality they had compared to Frankfurt was obvious.

This cunt has coached that team to be 15th in the league through his own incompetency. Incompetent coaches can and do win cups - Di Matteo won two in a season at Chelsea. The players are doing their own thing. Ange Impostercoglue can take zero fucking credit for this and if we somehow manage to win it despite him, I hope they shove him out of any team photos.
Frankfurt convert any of the 4v2 they had the first leg...or that shite RB of theirs scores one of his 126 chances last night...we ain't even having this convo.

Obviously I'm very happy we're in the semis and God knows I wanna win it all, but that "all is forgiven Sir Ange" from the usual suspects cause we scraped past Eintracht playing peak Grahamball is pathetic.

He’s probably my least favourite spurs manager ever but last night he got everything spot on fair play to him. Pretty much a perfect European away performance. If he can somehow win this and then leave we’re in a very nice position going into next season. However knowing us we either lose in the final or we stupidly keep him if we win it .

Think you will find he’s done here no matter what.

Keith Burkinshaw was moved on after the 1984 UEFA Cup final win over Anderlecht.

There is no justification in retaining Big Ange even if he does deliver a diddy Cup.
