Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I am amazed none of the press or pundits asked Ange why the team played so differently tonight. We went long a lot more, especially from goal kicks. It was everything that Ange’s critics had been asking / telling him to do since November. He was resolute that he would not change or compromise his principles of passing out from the back and baiting the press, whoever the personnel were and that we had to be brave. Has he adjusted / evolved his thinking? Or did the players decide they were fed up losing and make the change themselves? It seems a little ‘out of order’ criticising him after a massive win, but we’d not be in the bottom half of the table if we’d played this way all season!
We won but didn't play well last night. It's not like we battered them 3 or 4 playing scintillating football. Offensively we scored a pen and that's about it. Defensively we once again conceded too many chances, Frankfurt were just hopeless in front of goals. Give them chances to Sancet or Williams and that's game over.

I enjoyed the game but part of that pleasure was carved from the fact that Frankfurt never really looked up to much. They had their chances and shat the bed.

If you're primary reaction to us winning the EL is 'oh no Ange might stay' you need to give your head a wobble.

Winning the EL would be massive for this club, shit manager or not what a moment it would be

Exactly this.

I don't want Ange in charge next season but that's an after thought until we see what happens here.

If we win this the feeling will be out of this world and thoughts for next season are on the back burner.

he might win the europa league and then he will be in the tottenham hall of fame
Yeah, he’d be the most successful manager since Burkinshaw 40 years ago.

It doesn’t mean good.

Ramos won a cup for us. Graham won a cup for us. Footnotes in history.

He’s fucking shit at this level. Awful. And last night - whether him or the players - his steadfast way of playing was abandoned. Which he said he wouldn’t do.

We went through because of that and luck.

and also because he finished 5th in the league and qualified for europe then got through to the quarter final

We were embarrassed by Liverpool. And that was the shitty Carabao Cup, the FA Cup is the real one and we saw what happened.

And don't get ahead of yourself, still gotta play the semis and Bodo are no mugs. Also, we knocked out AZ (after losing the 1st leg) and Eintracht (no Marmoush, lost Gotze to injury, had loads of chances) to get there...hardly European powerhouses. Let's not even mention the league phase.

Every team's got injuries, but not all have a manager and his stupid ways as the root cause. Also, other teams soomehow find a way to adapt and still put points on the board...we got 17 defeats (and counting) and we're 15th, only 2 pts ahead of Wolves. Friggin Ipswich who've got a Champo level squad and hadn't been in the PL in donkeys' years have only lost 2 more than Spurs. And even with a fully fit squad we're conceding chances for fun and needed a ref decision to give us last night's win.
I don’t disagree with anything you said here. But let’s be reasonable about the “needed a ref’s decision” part of this. That was about as obvious a penalty as you’re going to see.

And I’ve come to grips with being entirely hypocritical here. I think Ange is not the guy, but he does seem to have the room with him, and I’m elated that we’ve made the semis. I also think that Ange saying something to the effect of “looks like you have to put up with me a while longer” is hilarious. I probably can’t help but cheer for the underdog, and I love that he knows exactly where he is, and says things like that.

What defines success? I will be very happy about winning the Europa but the league campaign was so horrible that I can’t define this season as a success. If we finished 8th and winning the Europa i would be okay. But barely relegation spots in unforgivable

Apologise for what ?

You are a pretty shit and obvious troll

apologise for hating ange, if he wins the europa league then gets into the tottenham hall of fame then you will be embarrassed about it

this is like when i dumped a girl because she was ugly, then she worked out at the gym and became super hot, i wish i would have waited a little longer and felt like an idiot

If I was a reporter I'd love to ask ange at one of the conferences if he realizes how many goals we've conceeded via back post overloaded and if he's working on this weaknesses considering the club is 3 games from glory .

Something that topmoller was really trying to work last night I noticed. Udogie did well but they were getting some joy till ange rightfully switched to a back 3
