Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You're very much free to interpret the match how you want. I watched both matches and know for a fact we were mostly poor with chance creation, and were wide open in defense. Better oppo would have put us away.

I praised the win and Ange's pragmatic moves in the match thread. I've treated this fairly.

We all watched the end of last game where the Frankfurt RB missed three very take-able chances in a row. That was a very fortunate escape. Unsurprisingly, we also got completely pumped by Wolves this past week. The team is not playing all that well- we scraped by this tie, barely.
You do know that teams will create chances in games of football regardless of systems, form and opposition. That is football. Over the two games we were better than them. Both teams were poor with chance creation as you call it but again that’s football. We deserved to go through.

Um - I haven't been off the forum buddy. Posted a bit less while I was in San Sébastien - something I posted on the forum while bemoaning the Wolves loss.

If you want to get snarky at least get your fucking facts straight. You do have a problem with simple facts. One of your less endearing traits.

The table doesn't lie buddy. Everyone knows how fortunate we are right now in this cup run. They simply don't bother engaging people like yourself because you are so determinedly antagonistic. Read the room.

You don't even know how to civilly disagree- just would rather snidely raise your nose and jeer. Honestly it's really frustrating to have to communicate with you.

There is something so fitting about the likelihood of us actually finishing 17th and winning the Europa League 😅

For years, probably over a decade we've had fans saying they'd rather finish 17th and win a cup than finish top 4. Imagine if it actually happens!

Well this just goes to show that finishing top 4 is a much more enjoyable season! Watching us lose over 20 games is horrific but if we win a cup at the end of it then we can debate if it was all worth it

Happy we’re through obviously, and the players worked hard, but like some wasn’t that ecstatic with the performance especially second half. After Maddison went off we really struggled on the ball. Didn’t create anything that I can think of and just generally struggled to hold onto possession, against a pretty average side in all honesty.

We should be better than this on the ball with the players we have. Being more pragmatic shouldn’t mean hacking the ball clear to no one. Play properly still Just more organised. Most other days we’d lose that game with a similar performance.
This 100%.

It was a ropey second half, backs to the wall stuff with no out ball thanks to Ange's subs.

Fans have asked Ange to show adaptability and manage game state, we haven't asked to have the team camped in our box unable to string a pass together. One thing is to play like this against City or Liverpool and another is to play like this against a properly average Bundesliga team with key players missing.

I'm not a Biss fan but when Madders went off we needed someone in the middle who could hold the ball. Instead he brought on an unfit Kulu and then chaos merchant Sarr. Bizarre stuff.

Easier just to write "sorry for lying that you only post when we win". :D

Ironic that is was Maddison putting huis body on the line who provided the chance to save his fat arse, after the way he's treated him.

And we were still a penalty miss away from it potentially being a very different story, as they decided to grow some balls on the 75th minute and started swinging.

Was hoping he is gone by now had we lost, but one thing I truly believe in is MOMENTUM. Don't disrupt or stop momentum. It is a true thing and I do believe it. So, I have no problem him staying hoping this momentum and "luck" of the draw (and incompetent teams we play) get it the cup.

HOWEVER!!!!!!
I hope the feeling that he is out at the end of the season is TRUE. I don't want to see this guy as manager here anymore even if "we" win the EL.
I did not see anything to change my mind. Last night showed me no tactics or organization. Just professional players putting this heart and sweat in it and doing all they can do to come up with a result. There were a few break out runs and our attackers has no tactic or method of what to do or hurt the opposition. We used to be known for being lethal at that before.

The win yesterday was all players effort using their professionalism, experience, effort to get the result. Yes, we won despite the fraud manager who is going around as if he did anything.

This also proves a point that myself and many others tried to explain. Stop blaming players for the season. They are pros who have been programmed since they were young kids to execute tactics and manager plans. They reached this level because they are good at doing that. When the coach's plan to $%#*!^ then they look $%#*!^. If we had a manager with even the basic knowledge and tactical skill, this team would be cruising through this competition.

The Ange-ins and flip-floppers who come after each odd win and start praising ALL the players and talk about the fraud manager that "he needs time", "he is a genius" need to stop. Nothing changed. He is a fraud, and he needs to go.

Not saying that's what's happening at Spurs, but it does happen, and more often than we think. Players start ignoring the manager & coaches, they have an entente between themselves, start training & playing the way they wanna etc. Especially with a big title on the line, which they know will mean bonuses, CL football next season and putting themselves in the shop window.
It’s difficult to address this without going into a much larger rant about the lack of critical thinking skills the vast majority of people possess these days and the huge damage that’s causing to society, but ignoring that and keeping on topic, let’s just say that this line of thought is really, really, mind-numbingly dumb.

Let’s apply some logic: So basically the players have gotten together and decided they’ll just play how they like. They’re even doing their own thing in training, so basically Ange and the other coaches have just accepted this or have been bullied into silence whilst Madders and Romero lead all the drills.

Except there’s zero indication of any friction on the sideline during the match, nor a single inkling that the gameplan is in any way materially different from what the coaching team drew up.

For almost the entirety of the first half before the penalty the high line and various patterns of play we’ve seen all season remain, but conveniently the players must have decided to stick with that. Even second half when a goal up, the counter press and pressing on short goal kicks is often still in effect, with Udogie especially pressing their RB aggressively and VDV trying to close down on the halfway line, but again the players presumably decided not to abandon any of that because… that wouldn’t fit the narrative.

When the penalty was awarded Tel has the ball before Ange starts gesturing forcefully to give it to Dom, but they ignore him? Oh wait, no they don’t.

Ange makes two defensive subs during the match, despite apparently wanting the players to play balls-to-the-wall gung-ho Angeball.

Then at the end of the match the coaching team and all the players embrace jubilantly, Ange is sharing long hugs with the players, no tension at all, no awkwardness whatsoever mere minutes after they’ve completely ignored his instructions for the entire match and the week leading up to it.

The first people Vicario runs to celebrate with are all the coaches, who actually had zero to do with the win because the players just ignored them. Why does he make a beeline for them and not the players who actually concocted the entire plan and ignored the coaches? We’ll never know.

Then Ange makes a point in his press conference and interviews about how the players have never wavered in what he’s asked them to do, minutes after they’ve completely done the exact opposite. Similarly, Vic and others give interviews saying how they believe in the manager and are behind him, yet the exact opposite is supposedly true. I guess it’s all a big CONSPIRACY oooooooh.

Like I said, just mind-numbingly stupid the second you apply an ounce of critical thought and consider the inconsistency after inconsistency in people’s behaviour that would have to apply for this “theory” to hold water.
